Musée Regards de Provence are one of those small local gems that you hope to come across when travelling. The museum promotes local artists from Provence and has a small but very varied collection of art from local artist - photographs, paintings and sculptures in different materials.
Walking through the collection hardly takes more than 15 minutes, if you take a bit of time to study a few of the artworks that you like. None of the text in the exhibits are in English, only French, which does somewhat limits the output for a non-French speaker, but it is none the less interesting to have a look around.
The museum is housed in what was previously a sanitary station built in 1948 at a time when it was almost obsolete before it was finished. A 45-min film (it's just as much an art installation as a film) tells a bit about the history of the place. It's really interesting and worth the extra charge to see. But it is not the least bit critical, so bring your own skepticism and notice both the religious references and processing of people as if they were cattle - a bit like going through airport security in France today except there is no DDT involved.
