It's a beautifully designed museum with great art, focusing on the history and culture of Provence and the Mediterranean. The stunning panoramic views of the port from the terrace are worth the visit alone, making it a perfect spot to enjoy art.

Opened in 2013 to mark Marseille-Provence’s designation as European Capital of Culture, the museum showcases artworks and cultural heritage from the Provence region and the wider Mediterranean world. The museum is housed in the former Maritime Health Station, built in 1948, which once served as a quarantine facility for arrivals by sea. It now stands as a notable example of adaptive reuse architecture, where traces of its original structure are thoughtfully integrated into a minimalist, contemporary setting. ※ Included in the Marseille CityPass

Beautiful museum showcasing Mediterranean Sea related art works. Paintings are carefully selected - real pleasure and enjoyment! Current execution of Laurent Mattio deserves attention. Highly recommend for all art lovers.

Small musuem with some art about history of marseilles through the ages. Can finish in 30 minutes or so. Not really worth it but I visited because of the Marseilles card.

Small cosy place to see the artists who dedicate to provincial the themes ,modern or ancient . Very nice view on the terrasse towards Mucem. Where you may have a snack or more formal lunch. They also organise use some parties cocktails in summer .

I didn’t like it at all. Not the permanent exhibit and not the temporal exhibit. I also would say that 8.5€ is a bit overpriced compared to other activities that can be done in the city. There were very few people even if it was on Saturday. I guess the price is related to the small amount of visitors. I believe something more interesting can be done with this privileged space in the old port of Marseille.

I love this museum, always great art and very quiet. Very relaxing moment facing the sea. Stroll to the Mucem next door after is a must.

It's ok. 2 exhibitions were happening when we visited. Both small though, really quick to see everything.
