The Musei del Duomo in Modena is a treasure trove for history and art enthusiasts, offering an intimate glimpse into the rich cultural and religious heritage of the city. Located adjacent to the stunning Modena Cathedral, this museum complements a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site. The collection features an impressive array of artifacts, including intricate sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, and religious relics dating back centuries. The craftsmanship and artistry on display are extraordinary, providing insight into the medieval and Renaissance periods. The museum also houses items related to the construction and history of the Cathedral, adding depth to the experience.

Exceptionally well-curated and informative museum; beautifully designed and fitted out. Went in August and it was totally deserted, leaving lots of time and space to read the vast amount of information about the town and cathedral, from the Roman age to present. Good gift shop with lots of informative short books, some of which are translated into English. The majority of the museum is in both languages. Thoroughly recommend.

An interesting supplement to a visit to the cathedral, it includes a number of religious treasures and some interesting sculptural items. If interest mainly to those with a keen interest in art and archaeology.

Best duomo museum I’ve been to, reasonable entry price. Amazing range of artefacts all presented in lots of detail in both Italian and English. Good gift shop.

When in Italy, you Duomo. They love a Duomo and they do 'em well. You go in, you look at the walls, the ceilings, you see the big J-man and Co., you marvel, you wonder why the painted babies all look a bit odd and then remember you can't draw a circle.
