This museum is well worth the visit. The building is a former monastery, set right by the sea in the Old Town. It gives you a good perspective on the history of the area and the artifacts that have been uncovered in the region, covering 7000 years, all well presented and unique. The displays are over 2 floors with signs in English as well. There are also interactive videos which are good.

I went to this museum with my son and he really liked it. The ticket for kids is free and the museum was amazing. There were signs in english so it was easy to follow. Totally recommend if you are visiting Bari or nearby places.

A Must-Visit: Bari's Archaeological Museum I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Archaeological Museum in Bari, and it was an absolute delight! This museum truly stands out for several reasons, making it a highly recommended stop for anyone interested in history and local culture. First off, the entry fee is incredibly reasonable at just €5. This makes it an accessible and affordable attraction for all. Once inside, you'll discover a fascinating collection of engaging exhibits. The artifacts on display are well-preserved and thoughtfully presented, offering a captivating glimpse into the region's rich archaeological past. From ancient pottery to intricate tools, each exhibit tells a story. However, the real highlight for me was the fantastically prepared room featuring a virtual show. This innovative display truly elevates the museum experience, bringing the history to life in an immersive and exciting way. It's a brilliant addition that helps visitors visualize and understand the historical context of the artifacts. I 100% recommend a visit to the Archaeological Museum in Bari. It's definitely worth your time!

Valuable collection of Ancient Greek pottery and artifacts from Prehistoric and Protohistoric period in Puglia. The staff were very friendly and helpful, while admission is just 5 euros.

A wonderful museum telling the story of the city through the building itself. Has great exhibits from the bronze age to about 1600s and some impressive multimedia to visualise how the building used to be. It wasn't crowded at all on a weekday and j didn't need to buy tickets in advance, but unsure about weekends. If you want to visit one thing in Bari, I would recommend this museum.

For me this is one of the best museums I have ever visited (after having travelled to 126 countries). The building itself is a treasure (a former medieval monastery with remains of earlier periods incorporated) but also the exhibition showcases beautiful pieces from prehistory, bronze age, pre-Roman and medieval periods. Everything is well-lit and the explanations and installations (film and audio) enhance the experience and give great insight into the region’s history. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable!

Interesting museum located in the old monastery of Santa Scolastica. You can find here not only exponates in the showcases, but also see on site excavations. There is a lot to read. If you would like to read all educational boards I think that you need about 4 hours. There are also some documentary programs, especially interesting is the one about the life in the monastery.
