We loved this museum! The staff is very kind and helpful. There is a lot to see. It was €5/ticket for adults. The tour follows a specific route and the artifacts toward the end were particularly fascinating for us, but this was all a great glimpse into the region’s history. We spent just under two hours here. We recommend it!

A Museum to mark them all. A building that is already famous by its spaces and decorated ceilings gets practically filled in with about a thousand years of history or the last millennium before Christ. The work to escalate all those thousands of objects, some of them from under the actual streets of Ancona, to carefully restore them and to display them for the public enjoyment or thirst for knowledge is worthy of the highest praise. We will be back!

I have not been to many archeological museums, but this one is amazing. It chronicles the history of humans in the Ancona region for the past 27,000 years. There are thousands (no joke) artifacts from many tombs catalogued throughout the area. It is amazing to see the advances in technology and artistic skill through the items people chose to be buried with. And the building is amazing too. Just all so stunning. So affordable (5 euros in 2022), you can go multiple times.

As archeological museum it's not very interesting. Only Greek and Roman part are wonderful, but not pre-historic and Picen (they are for specialists). But if you don't like ancient artefacts, you can look at the ceilings: there are beautiful Renaissance grotesque frescoes above your head!

Supposed to free by Google review. The two women gate keepers demanded 5 euros, cash only. They were quite abrupt. Alas I did not see the museum.
