Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Villena

Visited after our visit to the castle, this an excellent museum. Set out in chronological order, from 50,000 yrs ago up modern times. The star of the show is the treasure of Villena, a gold hoard that was found. Nice friendly staff, WCs available. Would recommend.

A well set out museum with an amazing collection of gold found close by. Lots of history from the earliest times up to modern ish day. The staff were helpful, but it's easy to navigate around. There are English explanations of all the artifacts too

A small museum. But worth a visit. Gives you a very good feel of the life through the ages in this area.

I am history teacher and I finally saw it

Well worth a visit, very interesting place of the history of Villena, the gold is a must see, the gentleman who did a tour with us had little english, but was amazing at telling the stories. Children enjoyed it too

Lovely to see so much history - wish the museum was bigger but lovely town and lovely views - the people are kind
