I really liked this museum that helps give a glance of how people lived in the cave houses. There are houses or rooms that served to keep some animals indoor and help heat the small house where a family lived. There are also other rooms for Flamenco dancing and entertainment, blacksmith, basket weaving, loom for cloth making among other functions. Gypsies "Gitanos" lived here. There has been a large Gypsy community that has lived in this area for centuries. There is a small bar where you can but refreshments, water and beer here. There are restrooms for men and women. If you get a chance it's worth going to see this. There are incredible views of the Alhambra from across the valley. It is only €5 per person to enter. The #34 Small red city bus vans will take you all the way up to base of the hill where you will then have to walk up a pathway to get to the museum. I really did enjoy it. The museum is open till 8pm. Not sure if the hours change during the year. There are nice little neighborhoods close by with restaurants etc. Really nice area with nice views.

Very interesting museum! Highly recommended. Great view at the Alhambra. The only downside: 30 minutes before closing time, the bar was already closed 😢 Everything else was great 😁👍🏼

This is a beautiful place, and it is worth the uphill walk for three reasons: 1. It is the best way to learn about the history of the Sacromonte and its caves. 2. The views going up are amazing. 3. You get to know more about gypsies and flamenco. I am giving 4 stars because it is not accessible for people who have trouble walking because the way is very steep, and it can be dangerous to share the road with cars, bikes, and scooters. Besides that, this place is amazing and we recommended. It gives you a break from churches and castles. The kids enjoyed it so much.

Well written signage in both Spanish and English throughout the museum, covering local history, ecology, geology, etc. Excellent views of the Alhambra. The walk from town is a great experience in itself. Fairly quiet too, which was a relief after visiting many busy tourist sites. Nice, clean bathroom.

An amazing historical insight into the lives of the local civilization. Living in well designed caves with their ability to survive. Extremely worthwhile the visit. Be prepared to walk a good distance to find the sight which in itself is part of the adventure while soaking up the local environment.

Loved this place. Spent about 2 hours here. So much information about cave people and their history, all inside caves! Highly recommend. Also recommend walking there- it’s a lot and uphill but gorgeous views. And then you can take the c34 back to town.

Highly recommend. €5/adult. It’s a gorgeous walk to the museum. It’s also a very difficult walk - very steep, lots of stairs. Maybe not great for small kids, elderly, etc. The caves are really cool and well-maintained. Plus, you get INCREDIBLE views of the Alhambra. There’s also a little spot for ordering drinks and small snacks. There’s a nice restroom that is very clean and fully-stocked. Maybe the only place in Granada that actually has toilet paper AND soap! 😂

Google
Great museum with 11 caves to visit and lots of very interesting information (to read or to listen to via audio guide) about the caves and their inhabitants, the history behind them, the ecology of the surroundings, caves in other parts of the world etc. Great views. Nice staff too. Very good price. A must-see!!
