Google
Fabulous small museum in a beautiful location. The art from local and international artists is presented in an accessible way. Not a big museum but worth the few dollars for entry

The facilities are nice and accessible. The exhibitions were fabulous. On the Day I went they have food trucks and local artisans. A lot of people enjoying the exhibitions

Wonderful atrium for concerts and chorale performances or live poetry readings, pop-up yoga classes, arts and crafts markets or even receptions! I hope any of these are offered here at some point ... This space is a delight of arches and light. The art museum is secondarily interesting with various contemporary art exhibits... Cute gift shop. Worth a 45min-1 hour meander to relax and cool off.

Google
Rich, private, well kept and organized. Unfortunately the staff is not as thrilled for visitors, but as an introvert that worked out in my favor as I like to take my own pace and time absorbing all the art in. Parking was free and very accommodating. Definitely recommend. The building itself is very nice for photo ops.

Google
A small museum but it has some good exhibitions going on. It seems the curators make effort to create awareness of the history and culture. It reflects the colonial times that intermingled and deepened reality in this island. Although it is only a tiny sample size, it was good to see.

Google
Beautiful museum! It’s easy to navigate and very welcoming. The work is very detailed! We got to see the political exhibition surrounding tourism. I loved it and wish more people visiting the island would support the museum and learn something for once. Tickets were $8/person for expats

Google
Not worth it. Useless staff, rude, on the phone all the time and even the room guards were mocking elder visitors. and... don't you dare ask anything to anyone here. Everybody will roll their eyes or become annoyed almost instantly. Worst museum I ever visited. Artwork was ok but not really for the enjoyment of career artists. Hallways smelled like pot, youngsters, specially girls, looked shabby and were making faces after my girlfriend ask questions about the museum. I recommend the Museum of Puerto Rico, not this garbage. The guy on the ticket center was really disrespectful and depression was the main energy of this place. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!

Yelp
Excellent collection & rotating exhibitions of contemporary Puerto Rican art & artists. Really nice architecture with multiple galleries around a central courtyard. While we were there we caught a cool dance performance & Christmas market.

Yelp
Beautiful architecture. The art was a little too "contemporary" for us. The art was mostly videos in each exhibit. I wouldn't recommend this experience with a family, especially with a young child.

Yelp
Great spot to visit if you are in town, lovely building with an inner courtyard for kids to get some running in while we viewed the exhibits. They have a small gift shop with some cute artsy things for purchase.

Yelp
It was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the museum had a great variety of exhibits. Also, the sculpture garden was awesome

Yelp
A beautiful museum with a stunning indoor space. There were three floors we were able to see. The third floor was easily my favorite with its storytelling on the effect of tourism on PR. The art was both evocative and polarizing with exhibits about identity and the ever lasting effects of colonization. The lower level seemed to be mostly a student gallery. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting PR. Very inexpensive as well - $5 per person.

Yelp
This museum is i just the cutest. It is made of brick and has fablous hallways made of brick which cool down the place. The outdoor courtyard in the middle is filled with beautiful greenery. To be honest, I could have sat there in this beautiful space and just read a book. I really like how each art exhibit is separated into air conditioned rooms. It was nice that I could not overlap the exhibits. I paid about $8 for my ticket and you pay for it in the gift shop.

Yelp
The building is completely immaculate and beautiful. If I was not there for I would just be there to relax and take the flight. They were, putting together tables and chairs for an event and it's so amazing. I had a great experience about the perspective of the artist and their intention through their art. You can be a message. I would highly recommend and would again a short Uber ride from Condado.

Yelp
Surprisingly small museum without much to see. More expensive than Museo de Arte. It only had three rooms but another gallery was opening that day. A little underwhelmed.

Yelp
Highly recommend this museum in the island. We want to check out some local and Taino art and they had real neat stuff. We were able to cover the museum in less than an hour. Perfect midday stop.

Yelp
Amazing galleries with a focus on female artists. Interactive and very engaging, I found it to be very well curated. A must for anyone with an interest in art, social and minority issues.

Yelp
Housed in a beautifully restored red-brick junior high school, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Puerto Rico (MACPR) offers about a dozen gallery rooms with ever-changing exhibits. The central courtyard is open to the air, the galley rooms are heavily air-conditioned. Most signs are bilingual. We saw a special exhibit of work by Carlos Betancourt, a PR native, which was most of the museum, very glittery. The entrance price of $5 - cash only - is appropriate for this very small place, my family of non-art-history majors was done in well under an hour :). You do not exit through the gift shop! We wanted to buy a few postcards but the shop staff was on lunch break, so no postcards for us. Very island attitude. The shop prolly accepts credit. I think several other yelpers have posted reviews for the classic (non-contemporary) PR art museum on this listing. For example, there is no garden here. Staff parks on the front lawn. Same privilege is not granted to guests.

Yelp
Very small museum with only a few exhibits, but well curated. Volunteer docents do a great job welcoming you and explaining the exhibits. We completed our visit in under and hour. Entrance is $5, which makes this an affordable excursion. I was pleased to observe that the majority of art currently showing is by women. This is incredibly rare in my experience! Bravo!

Yelp
Fully enjoyed the art here. The docents didn't speak English, but the exhibit was thought provoking and accessible to a regular Jill like me. While we were there, the exhibit was about questioning. Who are Puerto Ricans, how did PR become a US Commonwealth, what happened/ is happening to the people and culture in PR, the history of Santurce, questioning my presence here, and calling one to think rather than parrot ideas. I just thought it was brilliant. I know they change everything each month, but I hope many people get to experience this. We walked around the neighborhood, looking for murals, got something to eat at Miramar Food Truck Court, and then explored some more.

Yelp
Went to this small art museum this afternoon to spend some leisure time. The building was quite old but was pretty and elegant. It was small and had only two floors of exhibitions. It took us less than an hour to visit all the galleries. Not many visitors either. If you have an hour of free time during travel and you are a contemporary art fan, this would be a cool place to visit.

KharmaKim S.

Yelp
First, I have to say that contemporary/modern art is not my favorite (I'm more an Impressionist kind of gal), but I like to put myself in places where the art is bound to make me think and potentially be uncomfortable. This art did. There are 5-6 rooms of art and you can take your time here. The staff was accommodating and helpful. After you go to the museum, walk 3 blocks to the Mercado Santurce.

Coral T.

Yelp
An oasis in the busy city. A step in the right direction for local artists. Much can still be done for the art scene on the Island and for this institution, but there's soul and innovation in these halls. Loved it.
