"Vedado doesn't have many museums, but this one is worth a quick look if you like museums and want a peak at the interiors of old Cubans homes. It's a nicely maintained old mansion with antique art, furniture, and restored interiors. The entrance fee is $5 and they will give you a personal tour." - Noah Friedman-Rudovsky

Not what you’re expecting. It’s the former home of an extremely wealthy Spanish- Cuban family, decorated in a variety of French-influenced styles: rococo, baroque, regency, etc. If you’re seeking a true museum, with a good variety of objets and helpful signage, you’ll be disappointed. When I visited, the museum was not turning on any lights, so the only illumination was from the windows. The guides were quite emphatic that the family wasn’t Jewish, despite the prominent placement of a star of David in the entryway. I wonder…

Hidden gem in the neighbourhood! Beautiful artifacts in this historically preserved mansion of a wealthy Spanish-Cuban family. Nice tour given to us in English.

A beautiful European style house with incredible preserved art pieces. On an unassuming regular road. They gave us a guided tour and our guide was so knowledgeable, passionate and warm - he was amazing.

It's one of the well organized museums in Havana; and the furniture is varied from different cultures & countries. It's rather small though and over-hyped for some reason by all the tourism sites & blogs out-there. It's still a nice place to visit. I found the interior of the mansion more interesting than the artifacts though.

I really liked it when I went a few months ago to be honest. They were very nice to me and the man gave me a guided tour.

Museum of decorative arts with very well conserved materials. Staff is very knowledgeable and some are even friendly.

THIEVES. When you enter in the museum you have to let your bags with the receptionnist so that you don't "steal anything". Finally you go out and check your things and your money and the receptionist has stolen 110 euros. She gets scared and gives you the money back trying to tell you a story. Poor thief you lie badly and you disgust the tourists.

I really enjoyed touring this mansion and getting a glimpse of the Havana of the past- in great contrast to a lot of the buildings in ruin. Some great artifacts, but the property itself is worth the visit.
