This is an excellent FREE museum. It is well curated and follows the history of the area around Leon from prehistory to modern times. Make sure to go up and down the correct stairs to follow the history in order. The displays were very nice with many surprising artifacts. Description boards in Spanish and English. There are lockers at the entrance for bags. Kind people at reception.

Wonderful value for only 1 euro. Solid translations into English give the visitor a good introduction to local Leonese history from prehistory to the 20th century. Expect to see compact yet insightful exhibitions on ancient crafts and trade, ancient currencies and tombstones, medieval and early modern religious art, artifacts of daily life from all periods concerned, etc. Totally worth at least an hour or two.

Great items, I always am amazed by the quality of objects in regional Spanish museums. They have a rich history.

This is a medium sized museum spread over three floors. There are some English descriptions provided. When I visited there a temporary exhibit of coins was on display. There is a good collection of Roman tomb stones on display in the basement, which I found quite interseting. Worth a visit.

Employees are very rude. At 1:30pm they begin following you around as if you are a criminal. Actually they want you out by 1:45 so they can close at 2pm. They turn off all the lights even if you are in an exhibit making it very unsafe and dangerous for the individual left in that room. Exhibits are incredible but workers should be ashamed of themselves. Their time is clearly more important than the safety of their patrons or the masterpieces they work to show the world.

Small but excellent museum where you are going to find ancient Ibero-Celtic and Roman artifacts, Medieval art and many other interesting things. Ticket costs only 2 mere Euros. So, let's support the culture! 🤣 Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod. Highly recommended!
