This is a modern, beautifully laid out museum with loads of space to accommodate many visitors. It is the pride of Pontevedra, showcasing the art and history of the city. I found the early tools of the first inhabitants, dating back 450,000 years ago to be the most interesting. This free museum is a must-see for anyone visiting Pontevedra.

Probably the best mesum we've ever visited. 3 floors to Explore and discover + a temproary exhibition on the ground floor. Most museums that charge aren't this good. Staff were super friendly and helpful, lots to see and learn, lovely building and arhicetecture! The fact it's free to get in crazy! Staff spoke great English too!

Highly recommended for anyone on the Camino with time to visit - the archaeology section is small but very interesting (with interpretation in English). Good facilities, friendly staff and lockers for bags, and all for free!

More than I expected for a free museum. Four floors of galleries from Galician to Spain. Highly recommend
