"Machu Picchu Site Museum Machu Picchu is home to a number of artifacts from the Incan Empire. Archaeologists have studied these objects in their efforts to understand the significance of this mountaintop city to the larger Inca culture. The Manuel Chavez Ballón Site Museum uses a modern, dynamic exhibition to present a comprehensive body of information about the site. Worth a visit."

Very interesting. Well worth the visit. Only a 20 minute walk from the bus drop off in town. Free entry with your Machu Picchu ticket.

Quick and interesting time at the site museum. Need to present your passport at the reception before you can start your self guided museum tour. Complimentary with Machu Picchu tickets. We were instructed to not take any photographs. This museum has cool information on Machu Picchu’s discovery and introduction to the world in the early 1900s as well as plentiful information on historical context during its peak in the times of the Inca civilization.

The other reviews said it was free with a machu picchu ticket but the attendant said the ticket didn't work and it cost 22 soles. I didn't want to pay so no clue if it's worth it

Overall very insightful on the history and expeditions to Machu Picchu. Clean bathrooms. Would recommend coming here after Machu Picchu

Interesting museum, bigger than I thought. Worth a visit as it's included with the MP ticket. Guy on the entrance must have been having a bad, he wasn't very friendly and told me several times, "no photographs".

Great little Museum. If you didn't catch everything your guide tells you about the discovery of Machu Picchu it gives you a second chance. Best to take the bus to Machu Picchu and hike down the 3000 ft back to Agua Calientes, hang a left at one of the last roads(there is a sign). The Museum is free included in your price of admission to Machu. Also check out the Botanical Garden.
