Amazing, fascinating and large cycling museum where upon entering one ascends a winding ramp reminiscent of the final section of the Ghisallo climb, as well as the sinuous routes of many mountain stages, on which cyclists struggle during their rides, training, and competitions. From here, one accesses the museum's permanent sections.
Located on the access ramp is a photographic exhibition on the history of the Ghisallo climb, the Tour of Lombardy, and major annual cycling competitions.
But the most remarkable exhibits are housed in the museum's central display case : the original bicycles of Gino Bartali from his Tour de France victories in 1938 and 1948, a bicycle from Fausto Coppi's 1951 Paris-Roubaix, and one of Fiorenzo Magni's from the 1949 Tour of Flanders and founder of the museum ! The side display cases contain a selection of particularly significant jerseys and a collection of objects of special historical and sentimental value belonging to several champions.
There is a section dedicated to the memory of cyclists who lost their lives in races or in tragic circumstances, as well as several hour record-breaking bicycles, including those of Fausto Coppi and Francesco Moser, and a few other bikes.
Finally, noteworthy are the early 20th-century military bicycles, including the first Bianchi folding bicycle used by the Italian Bersaglieri during World War I, the evolution of the bicycle from the workshop of Giannino Albè, a craftsman from the early 20th century, and the largest collection of Giro d'Italia's pink jerseys ...
