Nice place, really informative about Larimar and with a good shop at the end. You can learn how Larimar is formed and get some nice gems as well. Staff was really nice and helpful, going as far as speaking to me in Portuguese.

Nice little museum to learn about this gemstone distinct to the Dominican Republic. The staff was extremely welcoming. Admission here also gives you admission to the Amber museum. We spent 15 minutes in the upstairs museum and another 5-10 checking out the jewelry for sale. Reasonable prices for authentic Larimar. Only downside at the time was that the air conditioning was broken so it was a little warm upstairs.

Very friendly staff and informative background on the stone. Relatively expensive considering the process of extraction. Free entrance as well..

Free and air-conditioned, dodge the heat outside and be at ease to enjoy the native blue stones and their geological history and chemical makeup in this well put-together display. History of use, mining, and many beautiful specimens to be seen, along with descriptions and examples of how it is made in to jewelery.

This museum allows you to understand everything about the LARIMAR stone. You can find panels in spanish/english and french. I've learn so much about LARIMAR and could not resist to buy earrings. This is the most beautiful blue I have ever seen. This stone is so beautiful. For thos interested in the healing properties of the stones, The Larimar is the most peaceful stone. It will bring you clarity and peace by stimulating and facilitating inner wisdom.

Friendly staff but they didn't know the basic characteristics of high grade larimar. Given this was a musuem I expected high end quality peices. Instead most stones had imperfections. Larimar seems over priced all over the colonial zone but this place was among the highest. All other places were open to negotiation. I forgot the name but there is a place in the colonial zone that cuts shapes and polishes thier own stones. I'd go there if your serious about spending money.

The upstairs is a little museum of larimar, with displays, cases, exhibits, and specimens of the semi precious stone that the Dominican Republic is very proud of, and rightfully so, it's a beautiful rock. It was a little over a dollar to go inside I think, which isn't much. Though the museum is pretty small and it's about a 5-10 minute experience. Though kind of fun if you're a tourist. They said if you keep your receipt and ticket you can use it to gain entrance to the Amber Museum as well

Great little museum with tons of history on the Larimar stone. Beautiful samples available to purchase, be sure to get the mini tour with Felix, he is well versed in all things Larimar and made our tour a pleasure.
