Nice small museum with amazing Pisa Tower views, very calm, almost no tourists inside. Don’t miss the views in the courtyard. This was part of the combined ticket and very well worth it.

Mostly tourists areas and mediaeval cities have vehicle parking or drive through restrictions (ZTL). Kindly read up the location to park your vehicle. Make it a point to enjoy your coffee and delicious food here at Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Pisa. Experience the leaning Tower up close while you sip the aromatic coffee. Come and book your table early. This cafe offers the best service from their cheerful staffs and a breathtaking view.

Lovely museum with fantastic Pisa Tower views, clean toilets, and fascinating bilingual historic displays. Can enjoy at any pace; don’t miss the views in the courtyard.

I read before ariving to Pisa that it is a good idea to visit museum first before anything else on Piazza del Duomo. And boy was I glad I followed it. The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo was one of the best museums I've ever visited. It’s modern and perfectly showcases the rich history of the 12th to 14th centuries. Walking through it felt like stepping back in time, with incredible original artworks and sculptures displayed in a way that really brings the medieval and early Renaissance period to life. You get to meet all the great artists of those time, especially Giovanni Pisano, genious of Pisa. Love what he get out of stone.

I visited the museum after the cathedral and other buildings but it would be better to start your tour here. It gives a detailed insight in to the design, history and architecture of each building and it houses many original statues too fragile to stay outside. This gives you an opportunity to see detail not visible from ground level. It is very well laid out and presented and in the foyer there is a screen showing the development of the whole site as a timeline that helps to place it all in context. On the upper floor is a lovely terrace cafe with terrific views to the tower and cathedral.

Very interesting collection, from a room dedicated to a miniature of the leaning tower to ancient choral books to elabrate silk runners. The building is interesting as well.

I regretted not having more time here! They have reliquary of saints!!!! It’s a Catholic museum, if you not into church history it might be boring for you, but for a devout Catholic like myself it’s a treasure!!
