Museo di Roma - Palazzo Braschi

A grand palace framing one of Rome’s most beautiful squares. Palazzo Braschi offers elegant galleries, vivid historical exhibitions, and a quiet, sun-filled courtyard. The museum is incredibly small (the €13 ticket only grants access to the second floor) and not worth visiting. For "Museo di Roma" naming, there is almost nothing here to see in terms of Roman art and historical artefacts. There is some beautiful pictures, sculpture, and impressive interiors itself, but again, the size of museum is not worth it at all. Also, there is no "Entrance/Entrata" sign at the museum entrance, only a glass door behind which stands a security guard who did not open it until I showed my ticket while standing in the rain (classic Roman stupidity). It is better to spend the same amount of money and go to the Capitoline Museums, where there are many more interesting exhibits

This museum is a must visit in the heart of the city! Do not miss this opportunity, such an amazing collection of oil paintings and ceiling freezes. Very neat facilities as well.

When I was in Rome, I got to visit the main museum, where they had an exhibition of classical Japanese art. It was an amazing experience! The exhibition showed works by a great Japanese artist, reflecting the deep traditions and beauty of Japan. Each painting was full of the spirit of the time, showing the details and beauty of Japanese culture. I was especially impressed by the fine details and craftsmanship, which made me feel like I was in ancient Japan. This museum was a real discovery for me, and I recommend it to anyone interested in art and culture. The exhibition of classical Japanese art left a lasting impression and enriched my cultural experience.

one of my favourites in the city. not overcrowded, many paintings of the city. 2nd and 3rd floor permanent exhibition. third floor discussed the transformation period of via imperiale, tibur river ... with live footage from back then, videos pictures paintings. also good view over piazza navona

This is a very nice museum, with a very unique collection and display. There are plenty of great works of art to see, there are lots of nice, statues, paintings and artifacts. The collection is very well preserved and displayed. The grounds are very well kept and maintained, there’s lots to see and do in and around this area. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend checking it out.

It was so little...There are not so many things it feels like you paid to see only a small part of a museum. I am not suggesting this to people who want to see a museum about Roma. But the view from the windows is great!

Wonderful temporary exhibits and a decent permanent collection too, but NO SEATING anywhere in the permanent collection 2nd floor, and in the temporary exhibits, only seating in the few video rooms. I wanted to enjoy more of the permanent collections' paintings, and more of the temporary exhibits as well, but it was very difficult as someone with bad knees. Anyone who is physically disabled/has difficulty standing for long periods of time, I cannot recommend this museum, which is a shame as the content is good. The lack of seating to accommodate the disabled and elderly is very frustrating as there is clearly ample space to put more.

Museo di Roma is a wonderful museum to end your visit in Rome. I wouldn't recommend this museum for people who are going to be staying in Rome for a short period of time (1-3 days) but more to the folks who have been in Roma before and are looking to do a recap of the history of this beautiful city. My husband and I have been in Roma four times during the last few years and were looking to do something new because the bigger attractions haven't really changed in the last few years. We were staying a block away from Museo di Roma and decided to give it a chance. The Museum goes through the history of this beautiful city, from the architecture to war. History has shaped this city and is really amazing to see how much it has changed and which places are still up and are part of the modern day Roma. This museum has some really amazing views of Campo de'Fiori which are perfect photo opportunities. They offer discounts to EU students and people who are 25 years or younger. You are not allowed to walk through the museum with a backpack but they offer free locker rooms to leave your stuff while walking through this beautiful museum.

Wonderful museum. We skipped the exhibition- the regular collection was enough for us, but the special exhibition of opera and art looked fascinating. The museum has a lift for the handicapped (and if you have proof of disability, you can get in free with one other person! Isn't that nice?) The price- 9 euros I think- was well worth it. There were many different kinds of art here- and the palace itself is a work of art. The paintings on the ceilings are lovely- and the way the collections were arranged was great. There's even a movie giving you history of the building. My favorite room was the one of the artists and their families- paintings, representing artists and their families- and I also loved the rooms of sculpture- one with a wonderful winged nymph, and another room with many sculpted heads. But all the rooms were great- and there was almost no one here. Why? It's a gorgeous collection. Go here. Enjoy. And let me just add, they have a handicapped bathroom, if you have any mobility impairment (lovely bathroom, let me add). Just a final note- from the upper floor you get a knock out view of the Plaza Navona- it's a wonderful place to take a picture. I LOVED my picture from the upper window!

Lovely, I went to see the exhibition for Italian film costume.... As a fashion student and art lover.... Amazing :) Loved it! The only thing that bothered me was the lighting which was supposed to be done in an artistic way and it was, but the exhibition is about the dresses and I would have liked to be able to see more detail.
