Museo Fallero de Valencia

The Museo Fallero in Valencia is a wonderful and often overlooked gem. The museum offers a fascinating insight into local history through the artistry and tradition of Las Fallas. It’s both educational and delightfully comic - even sarcastic at times - capturing the unique spirit and humor of Valencian culture. The exhibits are engaging and full of character, giving visitors a deeper appreciation of the craftsmanship and storytelling behind each ninot. It’s a place that truly reflects the heart of the community. This museum is absolutely worth a visit and deserves to be far more popular among tourists. Experiencing it feels like discovering a vibrant piece of Valencia’s cultural identity.

Easily my favourite museum in all of Valencia. The caricature figures were full of (often grostesque) character and symbolism, which was highly reminiscent of the 18th century cartoons of Hogarth and Gilray - an enormous weight of local talent was on display. The reception staff were also lovely, and really made feel welcome - they were obviously delighted to share their corner of Valencian history.

Pros: - Only 2 euros entry fee, free on Sundays - There are two floors filled with the past 70-80 years of historical fallas posters, the miniature version of the figure (ninot) winners, portraits of the beauty contest winners. Overall great exposition, really enjoyable to see the history, artistry and read the stories behind them. Cons: - Early closing hour, Sunday it was open only untill 1pm.

This is a museum that is totally worth a visit. The figures are very impressive and well done. You can see all the hard work behind them and their importance . We really liked it!

Nice museum for a little price (2€), even I was lucky to enter it for free. It shows the history of Fallas festival in Valencia. Won’t be my first thing to see in Valencia but also it worth it if you have a free half an hour.

Surprisingly interesting museum! 🖼️ Each statue has a deeper meaning and motto. You can see how both the style and the society issues evolved through the years. Exploring the exhibits felt like getting a history lesson. Both big and miniature (kids) statues can be found here. Kids statues tend to feature comic characters such as Yoda while full size exhibits mostly depict real people. There are also amazing posters from previous years and paintings of Miss Fallas.

The best way to spend 3€ in Valencia, or if you have Valencia Tourist Card then it’s for free. A beautiful exposition showing one of the most important traditions for the citizens of Valencia.
