It's a good free museum! If you are I to sailing then you will love it. The simulator had an issue with one screen, but otherwise everything worked. Tons of info about the race. Lots of pictures and video of sailing stuff. Staff was friendly. And the Lego model is impressive! We really enjoyed it. They do charge of you want to do the VR or the ride thing. Giftshop was very very expensive.

A hidden gem in Alicante! The museum does an excellent job showcasing the intensity and adventure of round-the-world sailing. Interactive displays, real race boats, and inspiring stories make the experience engaging for both adults and kids. Well-curated, educational, and surprisingly exciting — definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! 🌊⛵️

The museum is very well designed with loads of interactive activities, it has all the important information about the race and also some input about sailing and the environmental challenges the oceans face as well. It definitely caters to a big audience- age wise and also how much you are into the race wise. Moreover the museum itself is free with an AR experience and a tour of the Brazil 1 which are at 5,- each. I did the AR experience which is a nice touch but not worth the 5,- in my opinion, there weren’t any tours of the Brazil 1 when I visited (check the schedule beforehand on the website if you want to tour the ship).

Wow, just left the Ocean Race Museum in Alicante and I’m still buzzing! This place pulls you right into the heart of the world’s toughest sailing race with jaw-dropping interactive displays and a real race boat you can explore. I was hooked from the moment I stepped in—those simulators make you feel like you’re battling 25-knot winds! Entry is free, but the immersive experience (totally worth the €5) had me steering a virtual yacht like a pro. A cool tidbit: the race’s boats once used freeze-dried food to save weight—talk about dedication! Visit early to dodge crowds, and don’t miss the café upstairs for epic marina views. Bring kids—they’ll love the hands-on exhibits!

This was a wonderful place to visit. An amazing feat, celebrated in this great museum. Lots to think about with the added conservation aspect on how to save our oceans and what we can do to help.

Sad to say we arrived as they were closing our fault entirely. But there is still plenty to look at outside the museum. Information boards to read and an old Volvo racing Yacht to walk around the technology has moved on so much since then. We were present for the last race departure and are so looking forward to January 2027.

It's free Great access to all. There is now a simulator to feel what it is like to be on a racing boat. Not all activities work. On the whole, this does not take away a great museum that represents Volvo racing around the world. There is plenty to see There is a part where pictures, stories, and videos will captivate you. A small shop that sells clothing and bags. It's well worth going. It sits against the most beautiful backdrop, the harbour.

I visited Museu The Ocean Race and was truly impressed. The exhibits are expansive and of exceptional quality, offering a fascinating insight into the history of the race. The interactive displays were particularly engaging for children; my daughter was thrilled with the mini-simulators. Additionally, there are mini-videos and films that further enrich the experience. While the museum lacks guides or staff to explain the exhibits, this is likely due to the fact that admission is free. The only information requested upon entry is your country of origin. Despite this, it remains an excellent destination for both families and sailing enthusiasts. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Alicante!
