Museu de Lanifícios / Real Fábrica de Panos

The museum is very well organized and easy to follow, with an accessible entrance into the world of wool. It tells the story of the textile industry in a clear way, from the oldest processes to the most recent ones. Walking through the museum feels like traveling back in time and living each period of history. It also shows how important Covilhã has been in this industry. A truly enriching visit.

A very interesting museum that allows you to put Covilha in its historical context. Adds another, better, dimension to the booming ski town.

Very interesting museum regarding the woollen textile industry in Covilhã. A very friendly person on reception, you get a video presentation then a self guided tour around the museum itself. Cost €3 per adult less for concessions, toilets on site as well. If you visit the sister museum there is a discount as well.

If you are interested in wool, industry, history or archeology, this museum is for you. It has two different sites and I recommend visiting both as they complement each other very well.

Museum dos lanificios is worth to visit if you are interested in fabrics and the process to fabrication and to dying. Hope for you that the automatic payment system works because it to very long to complete

Very nice museum. Machines are in good condition. Most of it have small english explanation. The museum tells something about the history of Covilha and it's textile. Entrance for the 2 museums is 5 Euro. Better take a look at both.
