Museu Oscar Niemeyer

Free entry due to a public holiday! Awesome museum with lots to see. No water allowed in without putting away in your bag and in a locker. Good shop and cafe there also.

Amazing building. African and Asian exhibitions were well curated and very engaging. Loved that museum goers were invited to create their own art out of materials similar to those used in the exhibition. Museum store needs some work.

It’s a nice museum and a real Curitiba’s postcard, however the exhibition wasn’t good, I was expecting more for the most famous museum in town. I’m glad I didn’t pay. Usually on Wednesday the entry is free 10am-6pm

I expected more from the museum. The sculptures are ok, the space is very pretty and overall it's ok. The only thing I didn't like was the internal security team. Some of them are a bit rude when dealing with customers. Attention.

This famous museum is on every city tour. The architecture of the museum building is impressive, especially the adjacent building known as The Eye, which is quite stunning. There are wide open picnic spaces and grounds for walking and hanging out with friends. There are admission fees to enter the buildings to see the exhibits.

Clean, organized, well air-conditioned. Stunning view! Could be better: the „Free WiFi“ needs a registration which is only in Portuguese to get the English texts inside of the museum.

Amazing museum dedicated to one of the most famous architects you will ever come across in Brazil. The museum is very well done and has sufficient reading material as well as displays. Some of the art is interactive and some of it is historical artifacts. There is a lot of modern art and some art from people from Curitiba. The parts of the museum that showcase Niemeyer’s accomplishments are particularly cool, especially if you’ve traveled around and seen some of his works.

I am truly disappointed. I grew up in this country where this person is the most famous architect that has many of very important buildings being designed by him, for example the DC is mostly his designs where our politicians go to "work" every day. when I headed to this museum I was hoping to find a full building exploding with information and stories about the architects life childhood, works and many other fun facts. I was so excited that as we walked into the museum I could not contain myself, clicking my camera everywhere and getting out (not so cheap) admission tickets it was all so exciting. once we get in I get a bit annoyed as they dont allow water bottles inside, that made no sense to me at first but I let go. then the museum is not very well mapped here there is no logical sequence to the museum. the main attraction was a "eye" shaped building and there was the promised land. there was an adjacent building that we didn't even understand, we thought we were at the so called eye the whole time, so very confusing floor plan I must say. now the real let down was to walk in and out, flors after floors and seeing nothing about the actual architect that this museum is named after. we saw some not very exiting and of very poor taste art. some abstract and not at all what I hoped to see when I came here. there was one room, not very big, and not even an entire floor about the architect. in 5 minuted I was done in that room. huge let down really. I hoped to see and get to know Oscar and I got out of there furious and confused.

A cool museum that celebrates the arts of Oscar Neimeyer and other artists. They change the galleries every 2-3 months so there is always something new. There are a lot of different areas inside the museum that exhibit the new artists and you can actually go up into the eye which is the highest point inside the museum. You actually exit from a level below the eye which is pretty cool. When you are inside, you are allowed to take pictures as long as it is not with a flash. However, you aren't allowed to take videos.

I don't know where to begin. I didn't come to Brazil to go to museums but am I ever glad we found this one. I'm not an architect but from my laywoman perspective this in an architectural wonder. There's a giant eye! Literally. You have to go up inside it. There's something that is a giant ribbon, like one that the ballerinas swirl as they dance but it's a walkway. Just to stand outside and look at all this was neat. We went back today to actually go inside. As we hovered at the entrance not speaking portugeuse and studying the entrance fees and the hours, one of the staff popped out and handed us passes and pointed us in the right direction. Talk about welcoming! Then...when we got to see inside...well I just say go see for yourself. We might go back again before we leave Curitiba....
