From its name, I thought it's a museum on electricity but I was wrong. Rather it's small museum on history relevant to Bingen such as religion, Roman Empire, medicine. I was positively surprised by the artifacts displayed here. Not that they have big or rare collections, just that many items interested me even though I can't read German. So a 5 star rating for me

I realised a section was dedicated to Hildegard Von Bingen, but it more than dominated the attractions there. I was grateful for the English booklet supplied (no English info boards) in relation to Hildegard but it was too informative as I wanted an overall impression, not a biography. The other attractions were small scale and information was scarce for German speakers and void for other languages.

My research on Hildegard of Bingen brought me to the museum, and I was not disappointed. The man working the front desk (Axel) was very friendly and informative. If you ask, the front desk does have literature in English describing each station on the Hildegard tour in detail. The location of the museum is also beautiful, just off the Rhine...and next to a wonderful beer garden serving light food, wine and beer :) The museum's small shop also sells Dr. Annette Esser's book on the Hildegard pilgrim hiking trail, "Pilgerbuch."

Unsere neue Heimat demnaechst fuer velmai. Das Mixed Reality (Hildegards) von Bingen am Rhein. Our new home soon for velmai. The Mixed Reality (of Hildegard), Bingen on the Rhine. Entrance to the castles & romantic vineyards of the UNESCO World Heritage area in the Middle Rhine Valley.

Just saw it from outside. It looks great. One day we will see the inside also. The views around the museum are amazing. You should visit the whole area around it. Is worth it 100%.

Very detailed exploration of Hildegard von Bingen life, though its mostly texts to read on boards. Had additionally some romantic period paintings of the area and roman artefacts. They had all the texts also available for English speakers but I would honestly recommend to buy the Museum book (a few more euros more than entry) and go sit in the beautiful Eibingen monestry to read it.
