The Toulouse Museum is a perfect place to explore, especially with children. It’s a well-organized and comprehensive museum, free to enter with the Tourism Pass. With several exhibition areas and even an outdoor botanical garden, it offers a great variety of experiences. A must-visit for a fun and enriching time in the city!

This is the second largest natural history museum in France, after the one in Paris. Founded in 1796, it originated from the collection of botanist Philibert Commerson and has since grown to house over 2.5 million specimens and artifacts. Its exhibitions cover a wide range of subjects including earth sciences, paleontology, anthropology, zoology, botany, and environmental sustainability. Many displays feature striking visual elements and interactive installations, making it especially appealing for families and children. The museum is directly connected to the Jardin des Plantes, allowing visitors to explore live plant species and observe local ecosystems outdoors. A full visit typically takes at least 2 hours to half a day, depending on your pace and interests. / ※ Included in the Toulouse Pass Tourisme.

Great museum we'll laid out. Modern with cafe and toilets. Great exhibition of natural history stuffed animals and dinosaur skeletons. Takes about 4 hours.

The Muséum de Toulouse is a fascinating and beautifully curated space that brings science, nature, and history to life. From the incredible dinosaur skeletons to the engaging biodiversity exhibits, every section is thoughtfully presented with both adults and kids in mind. The layout is modern and easy to navigate, and many displays are interactive or multilingual, which is a big plus. The museum’s focus on environmental awareness and the connection between humans and nature is especially impactful. A must-visit if you're in Toulouse — plan to spend at least 2-3 hours here!

A great museum with lots of different exhibits. Some you do pay extra for. The gardens are particularly interesting. A zoo for plants with some interesting examples. The restaurant is good.

I have been to a lot of natural history museums and this is quite wonderful. Enormous display of animals; educational sections on earth science, taxonomy and speciation; thought provoking display of artifacts demonstrating basic commonalities of human cultures. I would have enjoyed even better if there had been English translations. The temporary exhibit on domestication of plants and animals. did have English and was brilliant for all ages.

The Muséum de Toulouse turned out to be an inspiring and captivating experience. The exhibitions are modern and thoughtfully designed: the animal skeletons, from terrestrial species to marine creatures, are displayed in dynamic poses, almost as if frozen in motion, creating the impression of witnessing a natural scene suspended in time. One of the highlights is the hall featuring large mammals and suspended skeletons, which conveys a striking sense of grandeur. Beyond vertebrates, the sections dedicated to marine invertebrates and corals are particularly well-curated, offering an impressive variety of shapes and colors that immediately capture the eye. The museum design also plays a key role: the lighting, layout, and explanatory panels make the visit engaging and accessible for both adults and children. Overall, this museum successfully combines scientific accuracy with aesthetic appeal, managing to spark curiosity, evoke emotions, and provide knowledge. A must-see stop for anyone visiting Toulouse.
