Muséum d'histoire naturelle de Nîmes

Rather small. The prehistoric humans area was cool (I enjoyed the VR movie about cave bears). The ethological area was dark and cramped with very little signage on what anything was. The taxidermied animals in the zoological space had a rather bug-eyed, moth-eaten look to them. Overall, great place if you live in the area and have a child who is learning about natural history. Otherwise, you can probably find something better elsewhere.

Nice little museum with some very interesting Dinosaur models and animal taxidermy. Fascinating collection of African tribal spears and shields too. Entrance is free with the Nimes pass which I bought online - well worth the money as entrance to the majority of local attractions and the tourist train is included.

Very small, with very little of real interest inside. There is a room filled with cultural items from across Africa and Australia but barely anything is labeled or the few labels that are there are often illegible or hidden. Many exhibits obscure other items of interest by blocking your view. It felt less like a museum and more like a brocante. Some of the taxidermists animals are so poorly finished they're laughable, potentially entertaining enough to warrant a visit. It's hard to recommend that you will find anything worthy of your time here or your money. Overpriced for what is actually on display and the quality of the exhibitions are severely lacking. Keep your money for other attractions.

A chance to learn a little more about the world's fascinating rocks and even more fascinating animals.

Not great, give 3 stars as under a refurbishment when I was there so may be better when fully open. But from my visit should really be 1 star. Staff were great exihbits not so good, and my expectations were quite low.

Loved it. Interesting layout

There are three display rooms, it is a basic museum, nothing special. It includes pre-history artifacts, foreign cultural artifacts and taxidermy specimens.

The true pearl of the jewel that is Nimes. Wonderful curating and a very knowledgeable staff make this an important stop in the city.
