The Best Places to Go in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in 2026 | Condé Nast Traveler

"Designed by star architect Richard Meier as a cube-shaped building, this Baden-Baden museum houses one of Germany’s largest private art collections and has become a major draw for younger visitors thanks to its temporary exhibitions and a modernization strategy that avoids elitism in favor of accessible art that helps pull the town out of its placid, old-fashioned image." - CNT Editors

Google
Great exhibition of German Impressionism with Liebermann in main focus. We enjoyed it very much, even though usually we are drawn more to abstract, surrealist and post-impressionistic pieces

Nice modern building. They have interesting exhibitions. Probably the best place in Baden Baden. Entrance tickets are not cheap: 16€ for Impressionnism in Germany and Max Liebermann.

OKish art museum with a focus on German impressionism paint works. Not much to explore and frankly (personal) I feel too dry and flat for the price (16€) I spent. An extra 2€ for locker because all the free ones are occupied (maybe I arrived at its popular time). A bit very very subjective comment on the art: I think German impressionism painting lacks of originality and creativity. It recapture almost everything from contemporary French impressionism like Monet, from topics to styles. The photo I taken from a work I like, Eva stort, student from Max Liebermann. She painted nicely and realistically the indoor side of the windows, while project the blurry impression on the outside of the window. I like the idea and contrast.

Very beautiful museum. Beautiful exhibition. You have lockers to put your bags and coat.

The Pousette exhibition didn’t resonate with me. Feels like a market driven exhibition. The museum building’s design appears to be aging quickly and does not embody a timeless character.

Went for the Yoshitomo Nara exhibition. A very nice building and great space right in the middle of town. The shop wasn’t great though, they should definitely needs to drop all the interior decoration crap.

The museum is immersed in nature and it has been an amazing setting to discover the work of Nicolas Party, which is pretty much rooted in nature. The synergy with his natural landscapes and the contrast with the apocalypse and the decay of things that is a focal point of the artist has been quite magnificent. I did feel that the exhibition is rather small and restricted for the price of the ticket - although admittedly Nicolas Party created a lot of murals specifically for this museum, and I didn’t love the museum shop. I wish there were items on sale that matched the exhibition and the modern spirit of it, there were classic things on sale that you could find in any store out of this museum. I didn’t have coins with me and I couldn’t leave my jacket in the garderobe for 1 euro. I wish in the future this kind of details will be modernized. All in all a pleasant Sunday experience and I would recommend visiting if you have the chance.

Yelp
Intimate modern art museum. STUNNING architecture blending divinely with nature. Captivating sculptures on their lawns and four floors of classical modernism and contemporary well curated art. Presently, OUTSTANDING is "Der Konig Ist Tot, Lang Lebe Die Konigin", their special exhibit. Showcasing 31 female artists of different generations; their own contemporary style; their artworks in a broad range of themes. CHEERS!

Yelp
This is the most bizarre museum I have ever seen. It didn't have any of the art their website stated.
