Everything is perfect! Great service! Friendly and helpful staff . 1st time I’m visiting George Town with family . This Hotel it’s located in centre of town. Very convenient to hunt food and visit tourist places. Even though we were got a small room but it’s really classic and convenient. The staffs are very friendly and helpful , guidance us very well since we are 1st time visiting George Town until help us booked grab for us. Really unforgettable moments. My special thanks to the Indian lady staff there. I will highly recommend this hotel who last time plan their vacation like us.

I had a wonderful experience at Museum Hotel. The location is excellent—right in the heart of George Town, making it super convenient to explore nearby attractions and local eateries. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and decorated with a nice touch of heritage charm. I especially enjoyed the small pool area, perfect for a quick relaxing dip, and the BBQ dining option was a nice bonus! The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. For the price, it was definitely worth it. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and affordable place to stay in Penang.

I loved the colonial feel to the rustic heritage hotel. Had many charming features, and the dipping pool rather cute, The staff really hospitable , loved Nely’s Passion Heart round the corner . Service -3 stars rating - What lets the Hotel down is the staff in the breakfast area not very friendly or accommodating. The breakfast al-carte not buffet as was suggested, early on and too late to find alternative. Menu Limited options and variety portion size tiny - rather shocked ! For a family really import to have breakfast

Loved my 2 days stay here. Staff is very friendly and professional. They let us check in late and helped with bags all the way, not letting us carry or lift a feather! Even helped deliver food to our room. The decor is very beautiful and is giving ancient vibe. Clean room (stayed on Babao), view is so so but not bad. Breakfast is a-la-carte with good choices and is open pretty late until 10:30. Didn’t try the pool but it’s not as bad as everyone keeps describing it as. Slightly shallow but not bad. Location is not too noisy but can be little intimidating to walk alone if you’re a girl at night. Saw some people wondering if ghosts or haunted. The vibe is very historical / ancient but me personally, I don’t feel scared or any weird vibe (and I’m usually sensitive) Thank you to the kind staff ❤️

A beautiful heritage hotel with wonderful ambience, just like the pictures on their website. We absolutely loved our stay here! We booked a Babao room with a street view and it was comfortable. |The icing on the top is the staff at the reception desk who are permanently delightful- friendly and helpful, they made us feel like we were really important guests. We thoroughly recommend a stay here!

went to kl then to penang and stayed here. this hotel is so aesthetic and even if the pool is knee deep and small af, it satisfied me and the breakfast place thing?? whoa. the food tasted so good. i didn't really like the room cuz of it's chilling vibes and the view i got from the window was just those ac machine thingies and the hallway is kinda dark so it was kinda scary considering i can see ghosts, and the bathroom- nahh i kept hearing knocking in the bathtub at night + the sink and toilet water parts didn't work properly :(( ok but tbh next time i will stay here again

My experience is a mixed bag. Love the decor and old-world charm. Food from Boomer's Restaurant was great. Housekeeping and maintenance, though, should pay more attention to linens and the upkeep of the rooms, e.g. bathroom door lock and the stale carpet and smoke odor. If they do this I believe they will have repeat customers.

A lovely heritage hotel that has kept its character. Very good base for exploring and WIFI worked well. The bathroom was clean as was the beds, bedding and towels. Being a heritage hotel there was lots of dark wood and window shutters - to enable the air conditioning to work these shutters have perspex over them making them difficult to open, therefore the room was dark (almost dingy looking)

Yelp
1600! The Museum Hotel is a heritage hotel located in the heart of George Town, the capital of Penang. It is within short walking distance of KOMTAR and a couple other adjacent shopping malls. Finding this hotel initially was difficult as it is on a side street. The side street is off Jalan Transfer and close to Jalan Hutton. You will know you are on the right track if you come across a bakery called Maliia Bakery at the corner. When you come to that corner, walk down that side road. As you walk towards the hotel, you will see the big hotel sign towering above. Although walkable from KOMTAR, I would recommend taking a taxi the first time you come here to familiarize yourself with the area. I don't know if the hotel can arrange transportation to get here, but I know that they can book a taxi for you to the airport. The hotel interior is beautifully decorated and filled with antique furnishings. As the name of the hotel suggests, there is a museum within the hotel that guests are invited to view by appointment with the front desk. Though this is a historic heritage hotel, the room furnishings are modern. Inside the room you will find a comfy bed, a LCD TV, air conditioning/fan, a safe, a fridge, free Wi-Fi and a large bathroom with a sizable shower. Hotel staff also leave a nice local snack nightly for guests in the room to enjoy. A complimentary breakfast is served to guests daily in the lobby courtyard area. You must order the night before. There are five selections to choose from. There is a dim sum option alongside several Western offerings. The meals come with fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, a choice of coffee or tea and a local dessert. What makes this hotel exemplary is the great service. It is the best I have ever experienced staying at a hotel. In fact, Museum Hotel has been named one of the top 25 hotels in Malaysia for service by TripAdvisor. Each hotel staff member I came across was wonderful and very friendly. They even recall guests by name. If you prefer a hotel with history and colonial charm over a resort hotel on Penang Island, Museum Hotel is a great option. The excellent service and central location in particular standing out.

Yelp
I love museum hotel, their service is top notch! Plus the decoration of the hotel is really bringing back the old heritage style of Penang. I love also how the rooms are very spacious, with high ceiling and clean bathroom. The last time I went there, when I checked in the receptionist, they gave me this really awesome lemongrass drink that is so sedap! You can even ask couple more times if you want ;p Plus they are very attentive, and doing everything very quickly. The surrounding is pretty quiet so that is probably the downside of this hotel, but Penang is pretty chilled and not as scary as Kuala Lumpur walking at night, so I wouldn't really bother with the location especially if you are driving. Price wise is a little bit pricey. I stay one night for around RM200++, but then I think with that amount of money, I do get the best service they could give for, and definitely will come back!
