Museum is cute and full of interesting artifacts and history with plenty of different subjects about the area to read about Bought tickets on the door for 20.000IDR from the Granddaughter in law of the last king of Simanindo so there is family lineage still owning the lands and artifacts of their ancestors which is beautiful They even have an area to display their show houses for dutch royalty who visited them in the 20th Century

So we were brought here as part of a tour to see the Batak museum but you have to go just for the garden! The entrance fee is 20K per person which is barely anything for an incredibly view and beautiful flowers. The owner speaks good English and was very welcoming. She said she also runs a bed and breakfast (can be found on booking.com apparently). Aside from one couple I saw staying there we were the only people. There are information boards about the Batak traditions outside the buildings but there aren't any labels inside the main house that contains artefacts. There is the main museum / traditional house, some graves, the traditional village (we didn't go inside any of the village houses as there were some gigantic insects flying around that seemed aggressive). For the Batak museum element alone I would say this is 3 or 4 stars as it does have information in English but could be more thorough on artefacts. But for the garden I would pay more! Also worth mentioning that the toilets were clean, had toilet paper and there was soap at the sinks.

The museum holds various collections from Bataknese culture. Sadly, the traditional houses are unoccupied and not maintained. I'm afraid they will be severely damaged soon. The glass house is the most attractive object according to me. It contains old furnitures from colonial era. The entrance ticket costs IDR 20.000. The parking lot is sufficient. The museum is located beside the main road and is not difficult to find.

The museum is under renovation right now. There will be a new boathouse also in the future. The small village is accessible but deserted. It's too bad that there are no traditional dances any more or people in traditional clothes explaining the history of the place. But still an impressive place to visit if you like Batak-culture.

Cost 20,000 to walk around the whole property. It was a beautiful way to learn about the local community and culture. The garden, house and the house was beautiful. Definitely recommend if you want to learn a bit more about the batak culture.

I went for the traditional dancing, but that has been stopped and hasn't happened since COVID apparently. But it was nice to walk around and explore the grounds. I did so alone today, as no one else was there. Just me and a lonely groundskeeper, oh and some cows. The museum and gardens were nice! The house reminded me of a typical grandma's house with knick knacks and photos everywhere. The garden would be a lovely setting for a coffee or a tea. Unfortunately however, the cafe is also very much closed. Luckily, I had a swim suit with me and I was able to jump in the lake for a swim. Entry was 20k.

The entrance fee is Rp 20,000/person. The place is nice to get some bataknese knowledge but theres no more dancer performance maybe cus lack of visitor. We came here at 8.30 to 10 am and we are the only visitors here. I hope this place can attract more visitors later on. This place is better than some museum near Tomok cus the authenticitiness.
