The Natur-Museum and the History Museum of Lucerne together offer a rich and engaging experience that beautifully showcases the city’s heritage, nature, and cultural evolution.
Both museums are thoughtfully curated and full of fascinating details that make you appreciate Luzern even more. The Natur-Museum is especially impressive for families and anyone curious about the region’s wildlife. The exhibits are colourful, well-structured, and full of small discoveries—from local ecosystems to animal displays that spark curiosity in both children and adults.
The History Museum, on the other hand, offers a deep dive into the past of Luzern in a very modern way. The collection is large, varied, and presented in a creative “theatre of objects” style. Every corner hides a story, and it’s easy to lose track of time as you explore the different periods and themes that shaped the city.
However, the historical one rely heavily on scanning QR codes to access information about each piece. I personally would prefer clearer on-site text panels or an optional audio guide to make the experience more fluid and immersive.
P.S I loved the part about child labour and fast fashion. It brings a very important point.
