"If you, like most visitors to El Salvador, know little about the country’s art, a visit to this modern, well-maintained museum will serve as a fairly comprehensive introduction. In addition to exhibits of paintings, sculptures, and other works, the museum hosts live dance and musical performances, and an “artist of the month” program gives a deep dive view of Salvadoran artists whose names are likely to be unfamiliar."

I loved this museum, each art exhibit had students there to inform you on each piece and were very welcoming, informative. I’m a tourist visiting and was able to get in for free with my student ID. The art was beautiful and most of the exhibit was comprised of modern art and art through the history of El Salvador. Loved it and a must visit in San Salvador! You’ll also be walking distance to the mural of revolution so make sure to visit as well!

I recently visited the El Salvador Art Museum and had an amazing experience! The service was top-notch, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated that WiFi was available throughout the museum, making it easy to share my favorite pieces on social media. The people I met were all super friendly, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit to this fantastic museum!

Loved it! If you want to get to know El Salvador through art - this is the place. The staff is really knowledgable as well. In every room there are art students ready to explain the pieces and concepts of the installations (just ask!). Price is 0, 1, 3$ depending if you are a student, national or foreigner respectively. Also, the museum shop has a lot of hand made souvenirs.

Great price. There’s a differential for Americans. The art work tells a story. There’s multiple installments. Stop by the gift shop. I got an amazing candle and it smells like the sea.

One of our highlights of visiting San Salvador was getting to see el Museo de Arte. I was looking forward to seeing some art from Salvadoran artist Fernando Llort, so I was especially excited to see one of his pieces in person. The museum is beautiful! You get to see and experience the culture and history of El Salvador.

Great museum to visit. Lots of history and of course, art. Beautiful pieces. There were a few guides in there but since we don't speak good Spanish we didn't engage anyone but there was one guy that approached us and explained to us in English one of the sections in there. I'm sure the others would've been more than welcome to try as well if you'd like them to. Lastly, it was a sweet surprise to find out that entrance to the museum is free on a Sunday (c. 2024) 😀

Small museum, worth a visit if you have time to kill. It costs $5 to enter, and is conveniently located next to the Sheraton Presidente hotel. Takes 30 minutes to see the whole place.
