Very well done museum - I was impressed ! The first section emphasizes Belizan culture , slavery , dancing , spirituality and logging / timber wood (mahogany). The second section emphasizes the colonialism, history and emancipation. The top level emphasizes the Mayan influences - birds , jungle , religion and ancient Mayan ruins. (Not to be confused with the Incas or the Aztecs …) I would recommend a good two or three hours here if you want a thorough absorption of the information. If you want a quick scan , brief synopsis then you only need thirty minutes . $7 to get in and it’s air conditioned and well maintained . The front desk attendant an the security officer are very friendly !! You can walk there yourself from the port in about 5-10 minutes . Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cultural / historical outing in Belize !!
