Museum of Cycladic Art

A great place for culture and good food. The museum has 4 floors, each represents a different location /time period and each floor is unique and very well designed. On the ground floor there is a very artistic and unique gift shop and a restaurant with amazing high-end food. Highly recommended!

Small museum. They have some interesting artifacts from the Cycladic Islands. They also have some exhibits from other areas of Greece and over several historical periods. However, the National Archaeological Museum in Athens has a far superior number and quality of artifacts related to the Cycladic Islands. My suggestion is to visit this museum only after you have exhausted the list of historic places to visit in Athens.

Really nice museum to learn the history of Cycladic art. They have exceptional exhibition design for the permanent collection which really gives you an in depth insight and snapshot of life in Ancient Greece and extremely interesting archeological and anthropological information. Those who are bored by a typical museum explaining historical facts will likely love this- it has lots of pictures and things to engage you and get a feel of how life really was then. Didn’t love the visiting exhibition but it is what it is.

Very nice, small museum. It pretty much duplicates the collections in the National Archeological Museum, so if you’re pressed for time, I would skip this, especially given the rather steep 12 Euro entrance fee. If you can’t get enough Cycladic or Archaic Greek stuff, or Cypriot art, then go for it. Good, but not essential.

Ancient Minoan and other island items on multiple floors. One floor dedicated to Cyprus. All displays well labeled and well lit. The Cafe appeared to be popular as well.

Very well cured exhibitions! Cycladic civilization was the least known for me and there so many amazing findings. The room. with the Cypriot antiquities was very interesting and the way the pottery unfolds throughout the centuries. Of course the classic era with the red and black pottery has so many treasures to show. Definitely recommended

Overall a pleasant experience. Reception staff gave a brief overview of the museum when I pick up the ticket. Budget around 2-3hr for this small museum would be ideal, especially if you would like to enjoy a drink at the cute indoor cafe. Free wifi available for you to download the museum app on the spot. Bring your own headphones. They offer videos with sign language explanations for a large number of exhibits, which made the experience inclusive for the hard of hearing community as well.

Nice, little museum. Not as big as other on ancient art, this one is more intimate. But maybe too interactive for my taste.
