AMAZING museum that I highly recommend visiting. I love how the museum tells the story of the Danish resistance through perspectives and memoirs of people that lived through the war. It is really unique and interactive, with both an option to use a phone audio guide or their own audio guide. The layout tells the story extremely well and I learned a lot from this museum. I highly highly recommend spending about 1.5-2 hrs here!!

This museum takes a deep dive into the lives of five people who showed their courage of resistance in different ways. They have an audio guide in both English and Danish. This could be updated with headphones or earpieces so that you don’t have to hold the device. The exhibits are well done giving you a sense of their lives through stories and artifacts.

The best museum in Copenhaga! We love it so much, the staff is very friendly and kind. The audit guide is such a great add-on, and the immersive experience is wonderful. The story line is so wonderful expressed, and there are several touch and play experiences.

We visited last week whilst on holiday in Copenhagen. This is the best museum I have ever been to. Some really interesting exhibits, but it's the stories that really make it so good. To hear true stories of real people's experiences was eye opening and quite emotional.

Today we went for a walk. The weather was sunny but very windy. We decided to stop by a café for coffee and a snack. The coffee was excellent. The place was clean, simply decorated, but with good taste. The sandwich was delicious, and the apple pie was fresh and very juicy. The coffee had a wonderful aroma.

Lots of information, very nicely presented. Great way for foreigners to understand what Denmark's been through during the Occupation. Interesting games. Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

This is a fantastic museum which features and interactive journey through the time of the nazi occupation of Denmark. You follow various characters throughout the exhibition and the stories are amazing. You get an audio guide with which you can scan QR codes throughout the museum and then hear more of the fascinating history around the German occupation and the Danish resistance. Highly recommend a visit to this museum, which is very close to the little mermaid as well as the royal castle.

Yelp
Lovely museum. Some general details about the Danish Resistance, but the main narrative structure follows five specific people from that time. Be sure to grab a free audio guide, as that's how those narratives play out. If you watch/listen to every segment, this experience can easily take over two hours. Lots of interesting information about the occupation, resistance, insider political debates, and Danish Jews. There's a modest-size cafe on the upper floor that's quite nice and overlooks a park. They have smørrebrød and other things. The museum shop is also lovely, with some interesting items that I found unique. The bathrooms are clean and nice and spacious.

Yelp
This museum is a very interesting concept. The entire exhibit is underground, meaning you have to go down two levels (-1 has the toilets and coat racks) to get to where the actual information is. Once you get here, you walk in a maze covered floor to ceiling with information and artifacts. Through it all, you take approximately an hour, give or take 15 minutes. There was a person who was discussing a topic at a point in the exhibit, but it was in Danish. Most of the information is in both English and Danish, but many of the artifacts do not have translations.

Yelp
Frihedsmuseet, or Danish Resistance Museum - small, compact, but packing a good wallop ... much like the country itself. Through artifacts and interactive vignettes, the museum tells how the Danish government and people for the most part resisted Nazification, saved the majority of their Jewish popular from the Nazi camps and engaged in sabotage. Very cool, not quite what I expected but definitely a learning experience that engaged visitors . Nice bathrooms, bookstore and cafe above the underground museum. Entrance included in the myriad tourist cards. In front of the Historic Kastellet fortification and surrounded by green space that incorporates a few related art works, mostly statues or other stone-based tablets.

Yelp
Denmark is a country you rarely hear much about with regards to World War II. Faced with an attack from a much larger neighbour, the powers in Denmark chose capitulation over total destruction. This is the story of those years and a very interesting one it is too. Although the country rolled over on the face of it this allowed them to keep their regular government, rather than the Nazi one imposed in Norway. And not everyone rolled over, there was a lot of sabotage and subterfuge to hinder and occupy the attention the Nazis, especially towards the end of the war. Museum is free and if you like history then this is a great way to fill an hour or two.

Yelp
Compact but fantastic narrative of WWII Denmark.
