The Decorative Arts Museum is a lovely house museum of the home of the Counts of Groesbeeck. The rooms are decorated as it would've looked in the 18th century. The grand drawing room is the most impressive, the Madame's Boudoir the most intimate and the Red Drawing Room the prettiest.

Fascinating. Highly recommended. Beautiful garden too.
English translations of the history signs were very informative.
Borrowing a tablet for interactive translation for the archeological section was great.

Based on the reviews not everybody enjoys this type of museum...but I certainly did. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff as if we are the only visitors. The rooms are decorated as if we would still be on the 18nd century. It is still all intact from the beautifull wooden flooring, the tapestries, the wall paintings and chandeliers in venetian style. The enclosed garden in French style gives you en excellent view of the museum building. And you finish your visit with an authentic kitchen again as if the cook only just left. The entrance is free just be aware it is closed between 12 and 13h. A must if you like authentic decorated time travels...

We had the most wonderful tour guide explaining things to us in English and checking in every so often to make sure we didn't have any questions. The mansion and decorations are gorgeous, and there was an incredible art exhibit going on in many of the rooms. The gardens are also lovely and they have brochures in several languages. It's free entry- totally recommended, what a special experience!!
