Museum of Fine Arts, Caen

Very good museum of European art in a modern building with a wonderful timeline journey of art. Many outstanding works. The staff were helpful. Sited in the grounds of the mighty Norman castle at Caen, which is worth a visit itself. We will definitely come again!

Interesting castle with multiple museums inside (one for fine arts, one for local history, and one for temporary exhibitions). The museum covers all periods from 15th century to contemporary with four floors (some are hidden, look carefully at the map). 1 or 2 hours for the full visit.

Extensive collection of classical modern art. Interesting cubist painting. Beautiful temporary exhibition. Difficult layout of rooms and confusing plan. Direction signs would help, including one to the exit. Nice bookshop. Toilets need more attention and are smelly.

I love this museum. If your agre below 29 years old is free but if your age above it, the entrance fee is €3, 5. I visited with friend and the have a lot of collections and it amazed me bc some of their collection since 1500 years ago

Such an amazing paintings, I mesmerized after saw all those ancient things especially the miniatures, felt like I was living in ancient time✨

Lovely museum, spaceous, luminous. The expo we visited was very well put together.

I visited with my partner,sadly the castle was covered in scaffolding and not accessible, but the art museum was v interesting, kindly staff helping with lifts for my disability. Lots to see and a vibrant atmosphere.
