Very well designed and informative museum which take you through the history and evolution of textiles and printing industries in Ghent. I could easily spend 3 hours there looking through all that. Highly recommend if you also love old industrial stuff.

Sounded boring, but I found it quite absorbing considering this was the leading technology of the day 200 years ago at the start of the Industrial Revolution and at the end one of the weaving machines has the punch guards at the top which was the trigger for the computer revolution which followed.

A fascinating and well-designed museum! The exhibits cover Ghent’s industrial history with great interactive displays, especially on textiles and printing. The building itself is an attraction (a beautifully restored former cotton mill), and the view from the top floor is amazing. A must-visit if you’re in Ghent!

Great museum and fascinating place. The exhibits devoted to cotton and textiles were particularly great, really interesting and instructive. The printing section was also amazingly educational, and the vivid recorded video testimonies gave amazing colour to the exhibits. It was great to see some of the huge collection of printing and textile equipment in use for educational projects. Superb translations to English.

If you’re into the industrial era, this has got to be one of the best family-friendly museums out there! Super fun, interactive, and perfect for kids and adults alike. Definitely worth a visit!

This was so interesting, an Industrial Museum. A large collection of textile and print machinery, some of which were in use in print shop late last century. Fantastic experience for those who lived with these machine as well as intriguing for looking back on how we have got to where we are. There is lot to see and show machines are operated by museum staff, so you can see them working! Seems to have a lot of things for younger visitor to try there hand at. Nice small gift shop sells postcards printed on the presses and housewares woven on the looms. Had a nice small cafe, which we didnt try but seemed lovely to stop in at. Will take about 1.5 hours to experience it all. Definitely recommend the museum and will pop in again when next in the city.
