Really great place to visit lots to see and explore. Theres 5 floors in total and we took hours just to clear one floor. Had to rush off to our next destination so that was a pity. Really clean and quiet museum with quite alot of people. But we still get alot of space to explore on our own. Loved the experience including the outdoor exhibits of old tankers and military vehicles. Highly recommend dropping by when you have time

Impressive collection but very dark and poor lighting! Couldn’t read many of the descriptions because it was too dark behind the glass. Literally thought it was some kind of power outage until I read other reviews mentioning the same. Restaurant was also closed and you need to check in your bag, so no drinks or food for a museum you can easily spend 3+ hours in. All in all not the most welcoming museum, but still worthwhile and very cheap.

Very comprehensive museum. We got there late in the day and ran short on time. Plan for at least 3-4 hours if you like to be thorough.

A good experience, definitely worth the price. There seems to be a problem with the lighting and some areas are not properly lit so you have to really try to read the descriptions and that was a little annoying. Also you may need more than 3 hours to see the whole thing.

Definitely worth visiting. Tickets are dirt cheap, the exhibition is amazing, you can learn a lot from it.

Interesting museum in an amazing building. Plenty to see and spans 700+ years of history. Shame many of the lights didn't work in the exhibits as it was hard to see the text and depth of colour in many of the exhibits. Very much a "see and read" style in a minimalist architectural setting. Very modern and worth a visit.

Fantastic museum. Spent 3.5h in there and still only saw a fraction of what was on display. Very well put together and super interesting. Will definitely come back if I get the chance.

Hands down one of the best museums I have visited. We were able to leave our luggage at the cloakroom (there are also lockers) where it is staffed. Tickets cost €5 for adults which I think is underpriced for whats offered. The museum is generally separated into two parts. One part which chronologically shows the events before, during and after the world wars. The other part dives into more general topics such as the technology, animals, memories of war. The top floor is a viewing platform which gives you an amazing view of Dresden and provide some information of the bombing in 1945. Throughout the museum, there are staff located on each floor who you can ask questions to regarding the exhibits. They are very knowledgeable and makes understanding what is displayed a lot easier. The museum itself is huge and consist of 4 floors and also some tanks, cars, and vessels on the ground floor for viewing. I would definitely recommend reserving at least three hours to see everything. Although I came for the Christmas markets I would say this museum is a must visit for everyone visiting Dresden. You can easily reach the museum with trams 3, 7 from the city centre.

Yelp
Very large museum, actually 2 museums in one the way it is laid out. Gives good perspective on military history and war. We spent 3 hours here. There is free street parking close.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! I spent 9 hrs straight on a Monday. The collection is vastly overwhelming and well displayed. My only complaint is that the text size on the item descriptions are very small and in some cases dimly lighted. If you are a history fan then make the effort to drop by. Like much of Dresden, the museum is just off a tram stop. There is a gift shop which stocks books and a few other items and a restaurant which I didn't have time to try. A MUST SEE in Germany. Some of my many highlights: a Soyuz 29 space capsule, display of the Dora 80 mm gun powder/shell load, the many lithographs commemorating the campaigns of Napoleon.
