Absolutely fascinating museum. We had never before heard of the forced removal and genocide of the native Slovenes by the occupying Nazis from Maribor and the surrounding areas (although, when one thinks about it, given that the Reich was only a few miles away, of course this was the fate of the locals). We left educated, but also moved and outraged.
We also enjoyed the exhibitions on Maribor life before WW2, under occupation and then within Communist Yugoslavia, and had an interesting discussion with the museum curators.
Overall, I recommend this museum strongly to anyone with an interest in history.
