My 8 year old son and I enjoyed our first visit to MOSI in October 2025. The IMAX show about the planets was educational, the curator gentleman is a great asset. The rope course was challenging yet fun and the AI exhibit was a great learning opportunity. My son tried to fly a drone. The facilities were clean and the museum stuff was attentive and friendly. We recommend this museum and look forward to returning when they build the indoor sports center.

Google
They got the theater/digital planetarium back and better than ever with laser light shows.... There is a bar in the basement serving up a full liquor bar, with two shots away bartending, while the kids play! The exhibit on sea monsters and dragons was pretty informative. Looking forward to being a member and coming back throughout the year. Although, I am still quite nostalgic for the old MoSi building and wind tunnel (that fits more than 3 People) and the NASA space center that used to be in there, I am so happy the theater has reopened!

Google
We absolutely loved visiting this museum. We were able to do all the activities they had and the planetarium was jaw-dropping. It's as close to space as some of us will get. My son enjoyed the ropes course and my daughter loved all the hands-on activities. We will be back another time!!

Google
We spent several hours this visit and while I see so many missed opportunities I would still suggest a visit. The main reason I poke at the missed opps is a seemingly lack of compassion from the team in place. Someone should take a walk through the center and just look around. Tidy up, spruce up and fix what is broken. Also, when speaking to an audience proportionally young, the presenter should remember to consider their audience, both for understanding and attention span. Still, a must visit when in Tampa.

Google
Tampa’s Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI) delivers an energetic, hands-on science experience in roughly 50,000 sq ft of exhibit space. With over a hundred interactive stations optical illusions, brain puzzles, even a bed of nails you’re encouraged to experiment, not just observe. The standout attractions include a state‑of‑the‑art digital planetarium, a VR simulator, and the thrilling Sky Trail® ropes course. MOSI also hosts engaging rotating exhibits recently “Grossology” (all things bodily) and “Wooden Wonders of the World” to keep repeat visits fresh . The Mission: Moonbase lunar colony is a NASA-backed immersive draw, especially for aspiring space fans. Some visitors note the museum feels more like an interactive play zone for younger kids rather than a traditional science center . That said, the drone‑flying and planetarium shows remain popular highlights for all ages. In about three hours, you can dive into STEM, climb, explore butterflies, and even play SciLinx mini‑golf. For families, MOSI offers a fun, stimulating outing especially if you skip the ‘look but don’t touch’ museums.

Google
Staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. Activities were good for kids of various ages and adults. My son really liked the "travel to the moon" section.

Google
loved the ai exhibit, good amount of activities. the space show in the planetarium was like science class in the beginning and kinda boring.. but it was nice, voiceovered by a guy who worked there since 2006! and the second half was a little animated part that i loved!

Google
MOSI made for the perfect afternoon for my 4 and 6 year olds. We were there for 4 hours and experienced every activity, plus took a quick break for a BBQ lunch. There was plenty of free parking and the activities (indoor and outdoor) provided plenty of options for all ages up to 12 yo. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Was trying to escape this FL heat, a day at the Museum seemed perfect! Purchasing the tickets and entry was really easy, lots of parking and we didn't have to walk very far to the entrance. There are lots to do for kids and adults. They recently added or renovated the planetorium, it's state of the art and the sounds and picture is awesome! The show was great and there are several choices for shows at different times of the day. Yes, they also have cocktails and food! I was very impressed with the quantity and overall experience here....highly recommend for kids and adults.
google avatar

Erin N.

Yelp
Had to travel to the area for something boring, so I decided to bring the kids and make a day of it since we've never been to MOSI. Although it wasn't overly expensive, the experience was extremely underwhelming. The exhibits are very poorly maintained or not operational at all. I recently learned there used to be an entire second floor that hasn't been open for years. The two stars are for the Planetarium. The show was very good. I wish we had one closer to Orlando. HOWEVER, the ELEVATOR was broken and my 80 year-old dad had had to walk up three flights of stairs!! Come ON!! NEXT!

D. G.

Yelp
This is the BIGGEST ripoff I have ever experienced! The museum is old and antiquated. The exhibits are ridiculous and sparse. The technology is from the 1970's and they charged us $20 per person to walk around in a junk shop! The butterfly exhibit was full of dead plants, empty butterfly feeders and NOT ONE butterfly. The place was filthy and unkempt. I cannot believe this place hasn't been leveled to the ground, because it definitely should be.

Yelp
This is a very small museum but was enough for my toddler to enjoy. The highlight exhibit at the time was a Dino one which is what attracted us to come. The exhibit had a good flow and was curated well for all audiences. The area in the back of this exhibit had hands on activities for children and was positioned perfectly near the restroom. The activities kept my toddler engaged. So much so that he didn't want to move on to the rest of the museum. The feel I got as we walked through the other exhibits was Dave and Busters. It was crammed, machines were very loud and many attractions weren't functioning. All of these factors were over stimulating for my toddler so we went outside. There was a butterfly garden with 1 butterfly fluttering around. A play ground, some field games, lots of open space and my toddler's favorite which was a fossil dig. I appreciated having the area outside to escape to. All in all I would return if the changing exhibit is appealing. I hope this museum expands to create more space and bring in more attractions. There is so much potential.

Yelp
My love and I both had MOSI on our bucket list. It's a relatively small science museum that mainly focuses on outer space, but when we visited they had a Lego Dino exhibit. There are also cool shows/demos like an awesome planetarium one. Felt like the exhibits could use more detail but it's worth going to at least once, especially if you have small kiddos.
google avatar

Debbie H.

Yelp
My grandsons absolutely adore this place. One has been there at least half a dozen times and yet, even after spending 3 hours there today, he didn't want to leave. The other has been even more. Today we loved the LEGO dinosaur display. The planetarium was MY favorite. The show is 45 minutes long. Super comfortable and informative.

Yelp
Came here today and there's absolutely no signage for parking. Waze tried to take me in the back entrance there's no way all the access areas are cut off. There's absolutely no way to get out the back way whatsoever. Maybe if this place decided to have some signage that would direct people how to get the heck in and out of their lot, there wouldn't be such Mass confusion. The line took forever and I'm not even sure why. I had two kids, showed my EBT card, inserted my debit card and was done in less than 60 seconds. What? It's boring for my 10 and 6 year old. It's old and feels dilapidated and it looked a lot better on FOX 13 when Charlie Belcher was on air with it 10 years ago then it does now.

Yelp
When in the area, my kids enjoy visiting this science museum, but I personally don't find it interesting or stimulating enough. Bed of nails, hands on experiences like puzzles or building things with paper or clocks, few steam activities, some coloring art and optical illusions is what you will find. I find that place to feel outdated and the activities to lack excitement, again, my opinion. Not to mention major lack of food options. There are some drink vending machines inside. They have a small playground outdoors and a large space for kids to run. With good weather, I enjoy sitting outside and letting the kids play. From my understanding, MOSI was the largest science center in the southeast and the 5th largest in the U.S. However, in 2017, it closed 85% of their building and their IMAX theater to save money. Many exhibits were removed and the remaining exhibits were relocated to the previous "Kids in Charge" section of the museum.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
This is a fun spot to take the kids on those hot summer days during rainy season. Tons of activities and extremely reasonable at $10 children and $14 adult for general admission. They also have a large playground and the sky ropes for the older kids. If you haven't been yet it's a must try if you are in the area.

Mikhail V.

Yelp
Not sure how anyone can be done in 30 minutes. Yes, the museum is small. However, if you read every explanation and try it yourself, you'll have about 2 hours of base science facts for you and your family. Virtual reality headset, planetarium movie, small park inside the premises. Parking signs are clearly visible, and the renovation since 2016 done well for the museum. Nice to be here again. The new exhibition about dragons contains many facts from different countries with great examples.
google avatar

Paula R.

Yelp
Not a true science museum for adults. Converted to a children's museum years ago. Should be renamed as a children's museum.

Yelp
I visited the Astronauts program three times in a row. October 3, 2025, The voice of the program Mr. Charlie made a serious mistake by saying that in the 50s of the last century Russia made a significant contribution to the development of space. This is not true. In those years, there was no Russia, there was the Soviet Union, which occupied several countries, calling them republics. You cannot attribute the achievements of the occupied countries only to Russia. It is correct to indicate that it was the Soviet Union. For the information of Mr. Charlie Gagarin and Korolev are Ukrainians who were born in Ukraine.. Mr. Charlie did not want to respond to my remark, saying that he already had several remarks, but, apparently, ignores them. Very disappointed. I came to the program for true knowledge and not just to learn the exceptional opinion of Mr. Charlie.

Yelp
Man where to begin. This place could be great but it's seriously underfunded. I hate giving bad reviews but it's hard to give it anything more than two stars. it claims to have over 100 hands on experiences and well we got through it in 2 hours. The only good thing is the price but what can you say you pay 15 bucks you get 15 bucks worth of experiences.

John P.

Yelp
MOSI is not a "museum of Science." It has little to no educational value for most adults although it's possibly useful as a place to amuse young children for a while. Mosi is more accurately called a "Science-themed children's amusement place." For example, one large feature is a maze. A maze is for entertainment, it's not science or technology. And inside were only low-res photos of airplanes with brief descriptions. These made even the fascinating Flying Fortress boring to look at. The staff was ill informed and repeatedly provided misinformation. The $40 for us was a waste of money. Poor or no signage too.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Due to major financial problems, MOSI had to close their main building in 2017 and consolidate the most popular exhibits into the former Kids in Charge section of the museum. For people who have never been here, I guess it's okay, but if you grew up going to MOSI like I did, you probably won't be impressed.

Yelp
Bought city pass for Tampa & this was one of the choices. The other museum was a children's museum. Unfortunately, so is this one! A waste of time & took up one of our 5 choices! No one older than elementary school aged will care for this attraction. Our 17 yr. old grandson was very disappointed!

Yelp
Not quite the place that I remember from 10 years ago. With that said, there is still a lot to appreciate about this place. One this visit we did not go for any of the premium experience, so I cannot speak to them. There were enough "neat" things to take up a couple hours. I'd say the prime age for the basic exhibits is 3-10 years old. My toddler had a pretty good time. Seems as though there has been too much downsizing over the year hopefully it returns to its glory

Yelp
We went to MOSI on our school field trip and the students had a lot of fun. I teach 3rd grade and they seemed to be the right age to enjoy the exhibits, planetarium, and of course the playground! I do think that there is a missed opportunity for learning takeaways. MOSI jussssst misses the mark. The experience could be elevated and something is missing.

Yelp
We came here for the dinosaur exhibit and I gotta say, it fell quite flat. The animatronics were ok. The displays were ok. It just didn't match the advertising. Despite this, my girls did have a good time for about 30 minutes. I also think this museum would be perfect for kids above a certain age - perhaps 5+. The playground outside was definitely not made for children under 5, as the slides were very steep and the entire things was very tall. We will try again when the girls are older.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun for the kids. Only thing I didn't like was that you paid entry but then every thing was individually charged as well. Should be everything for the entry cost.

Yelp
This is a fun, (mostly) indoors place to bring the kids where they can expend some energy, not have to be quiet, and also learn a thing or two. I took my 4 and 6 year olds for the afternoon. We spent a couple hours wandering around. Many exhibits were too old for them, but there was plenty for them to do. They especially enjoyed the block area in back and also the outdoor playground. We enjoyed our visit enough that we decided to upgrade to a year membership on our way out.

Milianie D.

Yelp
I came here the first time on a field trip like in 2000 not even like 2010 or something when I was 11 and now since I am 26 and I went to go visit there with my 3-year-old and my 6-year-old and it was horrible we went into the player and interior I could not see anything through anybody because they were holding up their phones too high and after we left they went to go play on the playground but then they came out literally 5 minutes later saying they were done The rope course was closed and there wasn't really much to do they did not spend that much time in there I think they consider it pretty boring and I had high expectations I'm sorry mosey but you need to do better I mean it was so much better in the 2010s than it is now like I understand your STEM experience for kids but like make it more adult friendly also you know like make it first someone that's not in elementary of them thanks\

Yelp
The business owners replies to the low reviews are actually not helpful. What would be helpful is telling us why the museum was downsized in 2017 and how to help get it back to the way it was. I grew up in Bradenton and coming to MOSI was always something to look forward to. A city the size of Tampa deserves a Museum of Science and Industry that matches the caliber of the people. This place is small, boring and doesn't offer our children anything but a playground, Lego easel, and a place to run around. The planetarium show is literally laughable. It's a 1970's cartoon about some cat that goes to the moon. I immediately walked out. I can not believe you aren't able to borrow something related to planets and space from other local museums. Very very disappointed in our latest visit here as I too recall it being much bigger and enjoyable. The parking lot is a mess and it needs a lot of help and fundraising. I'm very sad they aren't either getting the state funding or city funding a museum deserves. Or perhaps they also need to hire a Director of Community Relations and Giving bc this place has gone down hill badly.

Yelp
I may be a bit snobby about my museums after living in Chicago, but this place really needs help. I went with my son during Spring Break. There is very little parking, and we got there right when it opened. You can't buy tickets online. I repeat, you cannot buy tickets to the museum about scientific advances online. So we had to wait in a very long line. When we got to the front, we were promptly told that all tickets to the planetarium show had already been sold out for the day. This would have been nice to know before driving over, but unfortunately, there was no way to know beside calling on the phone ahead of time. The museum itself is underwhelming. Many of the exhibits were shut down. The ones that were open were incredibly outdated. They offered us a round of mini golf for an additional charge, but the mini golf was little more than 3 putts. There used to be a building that was an extra part of the museum before, but now, it's being used for storage. As far as I could tell this place has lost some funding. The big exhibit when we went were a bunch of buildings made of toothpicks. That's all I can say about that. Science and industry is not present at this museum. You may want to look elsewhere. Also, there is absolutely no food. Don't expect to eat here like you would at the zoo or aquarium. I would compare this more to an arcade than a museum where people are doing actual research or anything remotely scientific. I wouldn't waste my money here again.

Yelp
great museum for all ages!! my kiddos (2+5) had a great time with all the interactive things they had (and my husband and i!!) great spot to go with littles for a few hours. planetarium was also amazing to look at - the show runs about 45 minutes - great for school age children. my littlest was over it after 30 minutes though. great experience!!

Yelp
Located just south of the USF campus, MOSI, is a definite Tampa destination for parents and their children. Affordable for one day, be sure to check out the annual pass option since it's not only affordable but you benefit from reciprocity (with conditions) with other Tampa attractions like the Florida aquarium. Multiple interactive learning stations are the foundation of what's available with the general pass and are not only fun for the kids but engaging for the adults. Most activities require multiple people and as a result provide many opportunities for child/parent fun together. Additional attractions like the virtual reality experience do require separate payment. PS Be sure to try the bed of nails!

Yelp
Kinda indifferent about this place. At $13 per person I was expecting more. Parking is free which is amazing. The front desk person was quite rude and not helpful. I asked about the chamber discount to which he semi rolled his eyes, laughed at me and said "I doubt we have that I've never heard it" ...which I guess means he's never looked at their own website... I couldn't imagine going while it's full bc there's so little to do and only one group at a time can do each activity. We spent over half of our time there waiting on another group to finish so we could go next. It seemed small with little put together exhibits... it was a car thing, moon thing, hockey thing, health thing, and some pics of brain teasers. The VR thing was veryyyyy cool! But we were upset we had to pay MORE (nearly $25) for 3 of us to go on it for 4 minutes. We also did the photo booth which was $5 and gave us one photo. However, the photo was sooo off center and you could see the curtains so it wasn't even a good photo. Also VERY surprisingly, no gift shop.

Yelp
We had a great time at MOSI. The outside playground is nice. We also attended the planetarium show and the presenter was so knowledgeable but put all of to sleep. It was a nice nap.

Grace P.

Yelp
We visited the museum and left very dissatisfied with the safety and service provided by the museum and their employees. There are areas of the museum that aren't open to the public and are closed, but for some reason this areas have timed doors that all of the sudden can open/close and kids can get trap behind them. This is very dangerous because your kid can get stock between the doors and be hurt or trapped, traumatized and at risk to be hurt by other things inside these areas. We were playing in the area where the space shuttle/satellite is with our kids when all of the sudden one of these doors open, our toddler ran into the space and was locked in. Our toddler (2yrs) started to cry and we were so desperate to open the door to no avail. Another parent that was in the area ran to museum help desk to ask for someone to open the door. After waiting and not seeing the management responding I went to the service desk and asked for help (we had to ask for help twice) again. They were the least concern, seating and relaxing. When Austin, MOSI general manager (as he stated to be) finally decided to help, he walked slowly towards the area. He showed zero concern and did not even asked us how the baby was doing. There was no expression on his face, he had a flat affect. Then he walked into the door where my toddler was trapped and the first thing he does while my child is screaming and crying inside is lecture us on how to parent. Instead of opening the door right away, he just stood there and started talking nonsense while keeping our child inside. My husband had to step in and in a firm tone demand he opened the door and that is when he decided to stop his nonsense and finally open the door. Judging by the way Austin approached the situation, it appears as if he was physically at the Museum but his head was at another dimension. Thankfully our baby was fine but our story could have ended much differently if we had not been so closed to our baby while playing. We were in disbelief to see that a person like him is given a little bit of "power" and this is what he does, this is how he handles difficult situations. What an abusive and inappropriate person he is that having the keys with him, hearing a child crying and seeing the parents desperate decides to lecture and starts a power struggle. We never got an apology from Austin for his inappropriate behavior and for what happened to our child. Instead what we got were threats from Austin. Once Austin realized that he had acted very inappropriately and in his power struggle had kept a child trapped unnecessarily he decided to accused us of harassment and asked us to leave. He even called 911 on us. Imagine having your child trapped inside an area, screaming and crying and the only person who can help doesn't care to help and acts in an irrational way?!?! Something that it's very concerning to us is the lack of staff at MOSI museum. There are no employees in the areas where these doors are and no one is overseeing the different play areas to ensure kids and parents are safe. No one is available to spot if there is a security breach or if there is an emergency and help is needed. The behavior of the employees at MOSI proved that this Museum is nothing but a safety nest/shelter of incompetent individuals who can care less about the safety of your children. The MOSI Museum needs to be a safe place for children not for attention seeking adults.

Yelp
If you're looking for a unique date night look no further. we went to the science after dark event and it was super cute! The ticket included samplings from a bunch of local restaurants and wine, beer and canned cocktails. It also was themed, and had interactive exhibits in which you could make a few take home experiments. The ticket was only about 15 dollars, and it was a great deal! We got plenty of food, and had fun being able to interact with the experiments with just adults around. Some of the exhibits were closed, but overall I think it was a great time.

Lori R.

Yelp
This was a great place to visit 20 years ago. What a disappointment and a ripoff for adults. It's little more than a kid's discovery zone. Paying $14 per ticket is an insult. The only possibly worthy exhibit is the planetarium. But it was sold out 2 hours before we got there. Plus it's an extra $5! If you have kids, sure, bring them. They will have fun. To the management: There should have been some sort of disclaimer before paying regarding the nature of the "museum". It takes less than 30 minutes to walk through the place. (Most of the museum has been shut down--again, it should have been posted). And honestly, the owners should be ashamed to charge at all. Optional donations would have been more appropriate.

Becca K.

Yelp
Great little science museum for kids. Hands on. Fun. It does get over run by camp kids but in general we enjoyed it. We arrived just before opening and stayed til noon. Starting around 11am it started to get crowded with camps. Great variety of activities. We bought the planetarium option but did not stay for it because of the crowds and kids were hungry. There's some snack vending machines on site but that's it. You can bring your own lunch and picnic but limited tables from what I could see. There's a whole outdoor play area and ropes course but it was too hot in July to do it.

Yelp
We visited here today on a little mini vacation before school starts back up. I had never visited MOSI before (despite living in Tampa for 4 years and Orlando for --ahem--a lot). I agree with other posters that it is small in size but there was a lot to do. They also have an outdoor ropes course, VR experience, and a planetarium as add ons. There was a lot of hands on things for the kids, try to get a pendulum to swing using magnets, making rockets, a bed of nails, trying to move items with a crane hook. Everywhere we turned there was something to do. When the kids did the ropes course did my younger son was brave until he got hooked up. Then he wanted to peace out. I was so surprised when an employee, Kyle, went out of his way to show my son how safe it was, that it would catch him if he fell. Kyle even helped my son through some of the course. My son made it a little longer through the course before calling it quits and I really appreciate Kyle's patience and sweetness. I do want to warn anyone who may be slightly sensitive to VR/motion sickness. You will very likely get very ill on their VR stuff. If you get sick while reading in the car or on a roller coaster, this may not be for you. Luckily this was one of the last things we did but holy moly. I don't remember ever being this sick in probably a decade. I don't fault anyone but myself in this. I should have known better but I thought I'd be ok. I. Was. Not. All in all this is a great way to spend a half a day. If we didn't have to leave early due to me feeling like death, we probably could have stayed longer. I don't know if I'd do this *every* time we came to Tampa but my kids want to go back. My youngest wants to try out the ropes course again, lol.

Yelp
As a kid, I absolutely loved MOSI. 9 years ago I went as a teenager, and while I was a little bit too old for it then, the nostalgia made me still love it. Well, now as an adult, I took my 2 nieces and I was incredibly disappointed in how much they've downgraded. I had spent weeks hyping them up about how awesome it was going to be. We got there right when it opened so we could spend all day exploring what I thought would be two buildings. After parking and walking into the small building, I was confused. I remembered always walking into the huge multiple story building. I didn't think much of it and after a couple hours we got tired of the former "kid zone" so I asked the employees how to get into the bigger building now. They said it's been closed down for years. Upon arrival, I accepted the price I was paying because I thought it was going to be what I remembered as a kid, but it was not even close. They don't even have the gift shop, restaurant, or the amazing IMAX theater anymore. Such a shame. That being said, if you have elementary aged kids who have never been there, they will probably enjoy it. We did have fun at first before being let down. To see how much they've downgraded, I attached the old and new maps. The original map is colorful and that blue "kids in charge" section is now all there is. The white map shows inside of it now.

Yelp
I think for the price, your kids must be super into science. We did enjoy our time here but the facility is really small. My boys were more impressed with the dinosaur exhibit on the way out then they were with the rest of the museum. Different strokes for different folks? Probably won't be back and glad to have checked this off of my Tampa bay to do list.

Yelp
Science teacher here! I loved it for my 10 and 11 year-olds. The exhibits were definitely geared toward those 12 and younger. Lots of stuff for toddlers. Anyone complaining about the price is off base. It is a nice value and the outdoor area is lovely. While I love a good planetarium, the show was too long. The presenter at the end was enthusiastic but by that time he lost most of his audience. Shorten the show or offer it in two different (shorter) times.

Reeve S.

Yelp
Great for the price! It was great for kids to run around, and the new outdoor eatery was a great experience with staff and everyone there!

Yelp
After doing some research I found answers to explain my experience written below. During 2016 MOSI was in dire financial trouble. After a change in chief financial officer MOSI has become financially stable once more, but at a fraction of what it once was. Also looming in its future is the prospect of moving to downtown Tampa. MOSI was my most looked forward to stop while in Tampa. There are a few interesting interactive and educational exhibits. For me those were the hockey, and human body exhibits. Understaffed - When we went to buy tickets for the planetarium there was only one employee available at the ticket desk. We were told we would have to get back in the admissions line, a 10 - 15 min wait. I'd suggest asking guests if they'd like to purchase tickets for additional activities when they first arrive. Broken or Closed - Several exhibits were not working with no mention of when they may be fixed. Art exhibit with a resident graphic artist, except no artist present during our visit. Rope walk? Nope, appeared closed with no signs or employees indicating otherwise. IMax theater is currently closed as well. It succumbed to the budget cuts along with half of the exhibit space. By 2pm the main exhibit area was crowded and we decided to leave. Originally we left feeling baffled as to why so much of MOSI was closed. We visited on a Saturday during peak vacation season in July. I really thought this place would be more interesting and time consuming. Perhaps my expectations were too high right now. I sincerely hope in a few years time I can come back here and see MOSI's full potential in action.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would! Back in the day this was the science museum of choice .It was big with lots to do, could spend a full day here and still want more. Now!!! It is a crap hole. There is a much smaller area to see. The exhibits are dated and when we were there, all the kids wanted to do was run around. 2 hours and it was done! There's nowhere to eat, crappy, expensive vending machines is all you got. What a waste of time and money. Would not go back, ever!

Yelp
I'm a Florida Native. I was asked to come back here after visiting as a child with a friend and her young children, I was disappointed by the changes because the Mosi I knew is 3X the size of what you see now today, they closed off an entire building. (The biggest bldg to the left when coming in) I wrote a review because the money I spent disappointed me, and after preparing to go for over a week, I felt like it wasn't worth it. (Kept the babies busy for about 30 min.) One day maybe I'll buy it, and turn it into what it use to be and more.

Yelp
Was at the beach and wanted to find something to do for the day with the kids that wasn't outrageous or outside due to the heat. We took kids ages 1-8 and literally spent opening to close at this place. We did all the extras and still paid under $200. The rope course was really nice, big outdoor area for kids to play. Enjoyed all the activities!

Yelp
Again just noting my experience at the IMAX dome: Returned again for the showing of Star Wars! in the IMAX dome. This movie was fabulous in the dome, the picture was not grainy like I thought Skyfall was a few years ago. Strongly consider seeing a movie in the dome if it's one of those kinds of movies that should be seen in such a way...

Yelp
Best for the school aged kid 7 -12 as wouldn't be very much fun for under that age or over 12 due to mostly manipulatives that require reading and thinking and might bore those over 12. Not really much hands on experiment stuff. Best stuff costs extra and is short in duration and not worth paying the extra money. Good for if weather is bad and need something to do to kill an hour or two.

Yelp
My sister thought the recycled dinosaur outside of MOSI was super cool so she wanted to come visit this place and I've never been but that day we went! I have to say that once you experience MOSI, it will be your first and last visit. We bought tickets at the front and entered MOSI. There wasn't much to do for four adults and two kids. The hurricane simulator was cool but didn't seem realistic for the winds that were 160 mph. It was a very limited experience and some things were cool like the mind games but that was about it. I don't think I would return because there isn't much to do and for the price you pay, you would think that you would get some sort of experience to take home but you don't take anything home with you. I can say that I can pass on MOSI.

Yelp
Very underwhelming. We walked around for about 3 minutes and looked at buildings made of toothpicks. Apparently they went through a downsizing in 2017. Age group here would be 5 and younger.

Yelp
We used to have a pass back when they were thinking of moving downtown and it used to be great until they combined everything into what used to be the kids wings. Then we decided not to come back but glad a friend invited us over bc it had improved again. My son is an astronomy geek so he really enjoyed their planetarium show and the moon base area. We did the $8 a person VR as well which wasn't bad but probably will just do this once. Their 5 person membership is definitely worth it and free parking and lots of good restaurants close by.

Yelp
My family and I came here while in town for a football game and a trip to Busch Gardens. Pricing was reasonable too so that was a bonus. They did offer add-ons for the planetarium and a simulator ride, but we opted out of those due to my youngests' height and time constraints. My kids (6 & 3) both enjoyed themselves as did my husband and I. Parking is free and this place is very easy to find - directly across the street from USF. Lots of hands-on activities for children and adults to enjoy and cool outdoor area with a playground too. We were disappointed that the rope course wasn't open (we did go on a weekend day so that surprised me that it was closed) but still were able to spend about 1.5hrs here without it. Staff was friendly and we even got to see a sun spot by using a cool outdoor telescope that a staff member gave us a demonstration of. If you're looking for a family friendly indoor activity while in the Tampa area this place is a spot to check out.

Yelp
Its always such an artistic and mindblowing experience each time I visit. This time it was with my daughter. The Saunders planetarium show is our favorite. The colors, the scientific details in all things done at mosi never seize to amaze me. We love to see the "one small step" expedition. This replicate the events that took place at the moon landing and emulates what happened. I was like a giggly girl. My daughters eyes lit up as she is a fan of the idea zone. Here she explores and become so fastened on the displays. Shes only 4 and is already so intrigued. I definitely want to try the ropes course next. My last visit was memorable and each exhibit was adventurous as the last. Very informative and well designed. Thanks MOSI.

Yelp
The boyfriend and I have a tradition of going to museums on our birthdays as an all day date, and I was excited to come somewhere local and wondered how such an interactive facility would function during COVID. It is worth noting that there is no gift shop or cafe, but there are assorted vending machines with both healthy and unhealthy options, and the machines do accept cards. The place was very interactive, though showed little signs of sanitation so all we did was at our own risk and we made sure to visit the bathroom several times on our trip. I expected it to be much larger, but found about an hours worth of activities. He got a real kick out of the drunk driving simulator as it was a clear scare tactic, but we had fun nonetheless. We bought tickets to the planetarium and had the pleasure of having Charlie for our experience. Though the stars were a little out of focus, it was a very calming experience and it was abundantly clear he was passionate about astronomy! It was a small room, but everyone wore masks properly and were spaced out for the Sunday 11am show. We poked around outside by the Skytrails area looking for more museum and found nothing, the staff asked if we needed help but didn't stop us from exploring which was nice. It was refreshing to receive great customer service, but it probably wasn't the best place to go as adults. The technology in these museums has changed a LOT since I was a kid, and it was cool to see what they did have available. If you do visit, make sure to add an experience like the planetarium to beef up your experience a bit!
