Museum of the Battle of Normandy

If you want to know and focus on the D-Day invasion and then liberation of Normandy, this is a good museum for the chronological and factual accounting of both sides. Available in French and English, there is a good deal of written material to accompany some artifacts from small to large set pieces. A few are outside in the parking lot area. Free parking. EV charging station.

Small but superb museum. Far away from the crowds with many interesting items both from germans and the allies. You can see rifles, pistols, uniforms, military viechles, bombs and watch a movie about WW2 in a movie vie hall. The most interesting thing for me was the small diorama that was built there. So if you are visiting Bayeux this museum is a must see.

Very informative museum with loads of interesting displays just allow enough time to get round all the displays. The CWWG Commission Cemetery is very close by and within walking distance. Plenty of parking on site.

Awesome place for anyone into WW2 history. There's so much to take in — exhibits, stories, and artifacts that really bring the past to life. It's well laid out and super informative without feeling overwhelming. Just make sure to go early if you can — it gets crowded fast with tourists and school groups, and it’s way nicer to explore when it’s quieter.

Informative and educational Museum experience in the lovely town of Bayeux France, clean and well presented, staff helpful and welcoming, lots of car parking and a parking area for visitors with motorhomes too.

If you like military history, this is a fabulous museum. It focuses on the landings in Normandy and stops at Falaise pocket. The uk occupied Bayeux so there is a strong Uk element to the story. The story and pictures are moving. The hardware interesting. The signs are detailed and you should allow 2 hrs if you like to read and study the info. The shop on exit is good.

Wow, this place is amazing and haunting at the same time, unbelievable what these men did for our country. The place was immaculately looked after, so pristine. There is so much love from the French to the British all around this area. Makes me proud.

Very interesting and comprehensive over view of the campaign. Some great exciting exhibits of uniform and equipment too.

This is the biggest museum regarding the English military involved in the allied battle groups Normandy invasion. This museum has detailed information regarding the Normandy invasion and final assault to push the SS army back to Germany. Details information includes location and troop number with landing area. The Normandy beach invasion includes British, Canadian and US army. This invasion is the most important in human history and begin of SS army retreat. The museum also displayed the artillery, tank, jeep, and more. The museum as displayed the famous general who participate in this war. The museum requires mask and fully vaccinated documents for visit. Parking is easy to get access. Worth the history review and details of the invasion.

Great little museum that gives an overview of WW2, including a 25 minute documentary style movie that's shown multiple times throughout the day in both English and French. We arrived at 4pm and stayed until close at 6, I would say you need 2-3 hours if you are someone who enjoys reading the displays and really taking everything in. They also offer a discounted price for entry into all 3 bayeux museums which is great.

Nice museum memorializing the D-Day invasion. I got a kick out of reading their spin on the contributions of the French and de Gaulle in the war. Nothing interactive, but lots of exhibits to enjoy. Takes a couple of hours to view. Located a 15 minute walk outside of downtown Bayeux.

Another nice little museum. Provides an overview of the landings and battles; a nice introduction or refresher before a tour of the area. Many artifacts, a few vehicles. Many captions in English. 7E adult ticket, somewhat limited hours so check first. Just across the street is the British cemetery; a few blocks aways is the cathedral. Take some time to explore lovely Bayeux and soak in the history.
