Visited the museum last weekend. It just opened in Garden Grove. I was surprised to hear that it has been in Westminster for a few years, but I had not known about it. As a history buff, I really enjoyed many of the stories behind the items on display. The culture of this diaspora was born from the South Vietnamese state becoming refugees in exile and it is very encouraging to see that the museum focuses on this point. I think people sometimes forget that the culture is a unique one formed by the memory of the experience of the war and refugee journey. It isn't the same as that in Vietnam today. Statues to ancient legendsdo not speak to the culture of Little Saigon. The statue to Quang Tri in 1972 is one that does!

Stumbled upon this museum shopping nearby, but was warmly welcomed by informative and hospitable volunteers. Unique collection of South Vietnamese military history worth a visit from anyone interested. Be advised, the downstairs location appears to be closed but the upstairs one is open. Recommend calling ahead to ensure opening hours since staff is purely on a volunteer basis.

Not the biggest museum, but filled with lots of items on display. There are a lot of old uniforms and artifacts from the Republic of Vietnam. The staff of volunteers is very knowledgeable and friendly. They were genuinely happy we visited and took time to make us feel welcome. It is a little easy to miss as it is on the second floor, but it is very worth a visit.

Visiting from out of state saw a building downstairs but it was closed they moved upstairs no problem. Walked up the staircase and entered into the museum and got greeted by Chris and Lin both very helpful on sharing info on pieces of art and everything else in the museum will have to visit again.

I love seeing history preserved and articles posted from back then. I recommend calling the museum before arriving; not sure what their hours are. I came a few times and the museum wasn’t open.

Parking lot is a nightmare. I get to museum and it's locked it says go downstairs and ask someone at another business to unlock it. I did and he was nice but clueless and he called someone they didn't or wouldn't come. Total waste of time. I won't be back. I wanted to support the museum because my dad fought in Vietnam War and died prematurely due to illness contracted from his service but I guess not.

Google
It is strongly suggested that potential visitors call ahead before going out of their way to see this museum. I've made two unsuccessful attempts to visit it during hours that the museum should have been open, according to the its website. The museum's two entrances -- one on ground level and one on the second floor -- have no information posted on opening hours or days, and the phone was apparently disconnected.

Yelp
The Museum RVN and its docents proved it to be a hidden gem. This is an amazing space for high school and college students to learn Vietnamese history pre-1975. From what I know, a good amount of the relics on display were the museum creator's personal collection, and many more were donated. The docents and owner were incredibly sweet to talk to, and every time you asked a question, the original expanded to ten more. There is a glow to people fully alive in the work that they do-- and it makes you want to return. I love that history isn't reserved to a single lineage. It's a part of the shared human experience that deserves to be celebrated by curiosity, joy, and care.

Yelp
I attended the grand opening of this museum at their new location last week, and was very impressed. I visited with my kids and the staff was very helpful with answering our questions about the history of South Vietnam and the war. The relics they have on display are very unique. This is a great place to visit for and a treasure !

Yelp
Closed in the lower old location and closed upstairs as well. Wish it was updated to let us know . Wasted time looking forward to such a place for parents. Hopefully it will open once again in some sort of partnership or collective

Yelp
We came to visit the museum at their new location. They have a lot of really cool artifacts, and the staff is very friendly. It seems like they still have a lot of artifacts that they need to put up, so I look forward to visiting this one-of-a-kind museum again! Parking is also very easy.

Yelp
I finally came here during the stated business hours. Horrible parking lot and bottom floor of museum property shows a OC Sheriff eviction notice. I go upstairs to another door that shows it's to the museum and it says if locked go ask someone in a business downstairs to open it. I do and he calls someone but they don't come and he doesn't have the key. He was nice and all but total waste of time. I won't be back. I wanted to support this place as my father fought in the Vietnam war and died prematurely due to Angt Orange but I guess not.

Yelp
Truly a gem. This is the only museum of its kind in existence about the Republic of Vietnam told from the perspective of those in the Republic of South Vietnam. The docent was telling us that museums that feature stuff about the Vietnam War is often told from the American point of view if it is here, or from the Communist point of view- this museum offers through the eyes from the Republic of South Vietnamese men and women. Admittance is free, but there is a donation box out front- for which I am sure goes towards their rent and utilities. Because the docents and staff are 100% volunteer! They change out their displays every 3-4 months, the next display change will take place in April. Lovely group of volunteers! Two of the gentlemen who were there were very friendly and informative. Once a month they have guest speakers (those who have fought in the war) to come to share their stories. I encourage those of Vietnamese descent (Or have someone in your life who is Vietnamese) to come visit, ask questions and bring your parents and grandparents if they are still around. I brought my husband and my parents. They really enjoyed themselves!! Please keep up the great work!

Yelp
Seriously these people are so nice. Museum is obviously a passion project and they are so invested in it. It's totally free and worth stopping by.

Yelp
What an amazing find, tucked away in the back of a little plaza in the heart of Little Saigon. This small, but informative museum is truly worth a visit. It has so much history, artifacts and so much to tell. I understand the war can still be a sore spot for many people-- our parents and elders, but for the younger generation who's only experienced it through vague stories, parades and history books this museum will bring history to them and keep the memories alive. Take the time out to visit this place, look at the wonderful exhibits on display and speak with the curator. He has so much knowledge and can share so much! Enjoy!!!

Yelp
Highly highly recommend everyone to check out this place! I'm so happy that this place exists to preserve and share our history from our perspective (South VN). Everyone there is so nice, welcoming, and eager to talk about their displays. I hope the younger generations learn more about our history to carry these stories and experiences into the future. VNCH muôn năm!

Yelp
I came across this museum while stopping by a local tea spot. Glad I was able to check it out since their hours are pretty limited to Thursday thru Sunday. A special experience to be able to view rare artifacts provided by the Vietnam Armed forces. The entrance is free. So if you are in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out. Friendly and inviting museum. Will comeback again if I'm in the area.
