Museum Prinsenhof Delft

Very informative museum with a ton of masterpieces from the 17th century. They were telling the story of life and death of William the silent the father of dutch nation and great ancestor of the current king. I really liked the complex personality and liberal nature of his actions. The museum has perfectly utilized all mediums available to make a great experience with very detailed explanations on pieces of propaganda and really brilliantly set the context for the story. Do recommend totally worth it 👌.

The museum Prinsenhof is a fun visit mainly for the imprints the events here have left on Dutch History. Its interesting to see a part of history come to life on the famous stairs. The exposition on the uprising are interesting with some beautiful paintings, but not very expansive. Many more stories could be told if the museum wanted. Especially if they did away with the completely random exhibition on some artist the name of whom I have already forgotten.

A nice museum. I went to learn about dutch history but also got to see some local art. What really made my visit special was seeing Theo Jansen's Strandbeest out in the yard - I saw it online many times and it was fascinating seeing it up close.

Perfect place to learn more about William the Orange/ the Silent and famous painter Vermeer. Finding the entrance of the Museum is a bit tricky as it has almost like a side entrance. Signs are everywhere, so you will not get lost. Airy room once you get in. You will find your way in and greeted by the staff who is handling the audio guide. Coffee shop is available in the premises. Boutique is at site. The entire building is big, so follow the map with matching # on each door of the room, so you won’t miss any of the exhibition. Mind your head on the doorway. Washrooms are available in between the visit. I love how they present the audio against the art, so as the story telling. It was really a lovely visit.

Interesting museum, great for learning part of Dutch history. Exposition is full of information and portraits of William the Silent and Dutch war with Spaniards, paintings made by Delft artists and pieces of Royal Delft blauw. Nice place, worth for visit.

Learnt a lot about the history of the netherlands and William of Orange. The pottery and art on display are also worth seeing. Accessible to non Dutch speakers too.

This magnificent museum chronicles the history of the Dutch Royal Family, the House of Orange. Truly fascinating! It's really a must-see when you are in Delft. There is so much to learn about th the life of the founding father of the Netherlands

Wear comfortable shoes! Lots of walking & perfect photos. We loved it. It was packed on a Saturday. I'm not sure if it's much better on a weekday. Not to be missed.

What a semi-hidden gem! My Oma was from Delft, but I'd never known about this museum. It's a neat history of the famed Delft pottery and the town itself. Also a great exhibit on Willem of Orange. The building is gorgeous and a great opportunity to see the inside of it. A nice bonus if you're in the area and have purchased the museumkaart.
