The Tinguely Museum is truly a wondrous place. The building itself is a masterpiece, towering over the river. You may have read about the works online or seen some of them. But only when you step inside and stand before the machines, watching their whirring and creaking, and seeing the intense sense of patchwork from the scrap metal, can you truly appreciate their wonder. It's a barren, dilapidated, yet vibrant work of art, brimming with wondrous imagination.

I recently visited Museum Tinguely in Basel, and it was an absolute delight! The museum’s playful energy and interactive exhibits make it stand out from traditional art museums. Jean Tinguely’s kinetic sculptures are full of motion, sound, and humor — they truly come to life right before your eyes. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the riverside location adds a lovely atmosphere. Whether you’re an art lover or just curious, Museum Tinguely is a fun, inspiring experience that sparks creativity in visitors of all ages. Highly recommended!

Might be too slow for the kids today but it was nice to slow down soo how imagination can create art out of trash. We really enjoyed the souvenir shop (great selection!) and the cafe which was a nice place to rest after walking around. They had no food except for ice pops but the chocolate banana was great. The

Very cool museum. The temporary exhibit was very cool (and slightly off-putting) and I'd love to see more of the artists they bring in.

Was very good, the fixed exhibition about Tinguely is very interesting, good explanatory text, good shop as well, many creations of his on display. Staff speak English fluently, no problem communicating as a tourist. Very recommended 👏👏

Well it was a nice museum, something out of the ordinary. There were many art pieces like paintings and other art pieces and at the end where more machines but there where times when the machine would move and other moments not. But overall a good experience!

What a wonderful place. I have never been to a gallery where I smiled and laughed so much. Highly recommended.
