23 Places to Visit in the Netherlands Beyond Amsterdam | Condé Nast Traveler

"Also among Kinderdijk’s mills open to visitors, this site doubles as a fascinating museum where you glimpse the daily life of the families who once lived inside." - Chris Schalkx

Always beautiful no matter in what weather. We had rain, winds and sunshine in between for our second visit of this windmill! You will be impressed how the windmill works when you go inside!

Wonderful experience exploring historical site. Don't be afraid to ask questions and engage the volunteers that are working as they will provide information. Highly recommend! Purchase tickets along with waterbus tickets at once together to save on the cost of the waterbus. Easy to get to from the Eramusbrug water bus stop.

Great docent showed us around. One of the milers did a demo on putting up the sails and control the blades. Like a living museum. Great information.

We loved it! This is a picturesk location with multiple working windmills and excellent guided tours that provide insights into how water levels are managed, even today, throughout the area, and its interesting history. You'll be able to tour the inside of a windmill and see firsthand how they were constructed and operate. If you found this review helpful, please tap the thumbs up to let me know. Thanks!

This was a great visit for children. It's part of the UNESCO world heritage for a reason. And it was very. Cool to be able to see inside.

Well worth a visit.. to learn about how the Dutch reclaimed land using wind. Surprising history that is very well presented don't let the sparse photos of just spaced out windmills fool you.. it is a bit of a walk to the windmills but the visitor centers are close to the parking lot and have a lot to see
