Google
What a unique experience! Rave in a cave! Great sound and DJ’s. A bit of a younger crowd but good to experience!

Gabe Pettas

Google
The atmosphere was cool but the owner was very rude and couldn’t stop commenting on my sisters weight. The geography of the cave itself acted as a natural coolant. We were charged 35 euro a piece for drinks, you can tell this place has been struggling financially. Overall I had a good time.

Robert Henry

Google
I read the reviews before going here but my wife and I decided to check it out anyway. First, I will say the inside it cool looking but it’s not worth the weak drinks. I spent $50 on two margaritas and I never felt move sober in my life. Secondly, when they say this place discriminates, it’s true. We witnessed it first hand when we were leaving. The bouncer told this couple that they were closed but that’s not true at all since we just left. I forgot to mention that they tried to turn us away but the manager let us in only because we were at the Fly Bar earlier. Don’t listen to the owner replies that you need a card to enter because they didn’t even ask us if we had one. All in all, I would never go back to this place again, and I don’t mind spending money on drinks but I can’t support a place that treats people like that and makes weak drinks that’s a baby could handle.

Google
Turned away at the door without reason. Ten of us—five women, five men—sober, Swiss residents, dressed smart, positive energy. Not rowdy, not late. Just apparently the wrong mix of accents and passports. Too Italian to be tourists, too international to be locals. Discrimination like this has no excuse in 2025. Skip this place and support venues that don’t filter people like it’s 1950. Edit: card request sent 11 days ago, 2/10 of the group never received. Will update. Edit2: other establishments in Positano confirm italians without a card don’t get in but foreigners do, and talks behind their backs for ruining the town’s night life for everyone (people, just skip Positano and go to Capri where they’ll treat you properly regardless of origin!)

Google
Vibes in the club were great until we were outside with our friends and the bouncer accused my boyfriend of feeling someone up. A very serious accusation, when we were all 4 of us standing outside the entrance as we were leaving ,talking, a bouncer came up to us saying my boyfriend touched a girls ass but that is not true whatsoever. We got kicked out. Wrist bands taken, even tho us 4 were just having conversation before we left the club. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. after spending $600 euros on a booth that how we’re treated? NEVER EVER GO HERE.SCAM. The bouncers treat people like garbage. Shame.

Google
Amazing ,,superb!! If you like clubbing this is a must to do in positano. Entry was 25 euros per person. One drink is provided with the entry ticket. Music and crowd is just awesome . Starts aroung 10:30pm.

Ray

Google
Fun experience- disco in a cave. Music was great and the bartenders were friendly. However, as most reviews state, it is super expensive. 30 euros to get in the door but it includes a drink ticket. Each cocktail was 20 euros.

Stacy Gonzalez

Google
They tried to turn us away but the manager let us in. The club was empty, so it seems like they only let people who look rich in. Old men w young women. Music sucked anyway. Drinks were weak. The cave was cool though

Yelp
The price for entrance changes depending on the day. We went on Wednesday night which is one of the cheapest nights and it is 25 a person which includes a drink. We arrived at 9pm which was too early so they told us about the cocktail bar "fly bar" where we could wait. We ordered - gin and tonic (waiter recommended a local gin) - Negroni (waiter made unique) - grapefruit Paloma (I enjoyed this. It was nice light and reflect refreshing) - coffee killer (their take on an espresso martini, but rather bitter was not my favorite thing. The description on the menu makes it sound like it would be a little bit sweeter) The view and the ambience of the bar is very nice and the waiter was very attentive and kind. The nightclub itself is a good time but the party starts late at night. Please be aware there are a lot of lasers in the nightclub, so sensitive audiences should be careful.

Yelp
Save your time. If you can stomach talking to the old men cosplaying as security guards, you'll only be rewarded with the most underwhelming atmosphere in all of Italy. Inside it is dank, musty and smells like wet dog. The service is abysmal with staff who are probably struggling to be in such a depressing environment. The drinks are collected directly from the ocean, some of the most foul concoctions the bartenders can invent.

Cinthia F.

Yelp
Had a great time at the club. They played good music even though it's wasn't that packed I still enjoyed my time there. Hopefully I can get to visit Positano in the near future

Dwayne P.

Yelp
Do not go here expecting any welcoming service, as many of what these reviews are saying is true. Upon arriving with my group (4 guys, 1 girl), we were looked up and down from the older security guard who seemed a bit on his power high horse. He asked us where we were staying (cause I guess it was obvious we were tourists?), where we proceeded to show him our local Airbnb listing. Clearly he was profiling us which is wild cause this bar is in the middle of all the tourist businesses. It took him a minutes of haggling us before the other security guard whispered something to him to let the first half of us (2 guys and 1 girl) in, the rest of us looking bewildered why they couldn't be let in as well. We were immediately asked to pay the cover before we could figure out what was going on (50 euro??) so we said no and left. Honestly, it was unsurprising, because we grabbed a drink at the outdoor bar next door beforehand and clearly could see more people walking AWAY from this club than into it. Our suspicions confirmed as we talked with other tourists as we left that they received the same treatment. I wish we had listened to the other reviews instead of wasting our time walking down to this clearly sub-par establishment. How are they still open??

Yelp
Lame and overhyped. Super small, drinks are overpriced. Avoid at all costs. Lines super long and it's a bunch of influencers.

Yelp
This is a place you come to with big groups to party it up. Or you can go and make friends with everyone there, all the guests seem very nice. Service - The service here was terrible. They told us we would need to order with the waitstaff but it would take them 20 minutes to even come and take an order and another 20 minutes before we got our drinks. Drinks - The drinks were okay, pretty average, definitely not worth the price.
google avatar

Arnel N.

Yelp
Drinks are over priced. Decent music. Doesn't start poppin off till 1130pm. Def where the party goers will want to be.
google avatar

Luke P.

Yelp
Got in easily and paid €20 per person. Free single drink passes. Drinks were pretty pricey as expected. Service was fine. Nice dance music and vibes. Cool design of the club in a cave-type area.
google avatar

Nina G.

Yelp
Best club in position and not just because it's the only club in Positano. The vibes were immaculate and the music was so good. Had so much fun dancing the night away with my friends.

Yelp
You have to be a straight up pedophile or R Kelly to like this club. Went last night and it was a 12 year olds birthday party. Children everywhere. I almost tripped over a 4 year old. I feel sorry for the DJ, it's like playing a set at chuckie cheese. Music is whatever and they have so many strobe lights you can't even see the niceness of being in a cave. Definitely skip this club and actually skip Positano altogether it's one tiny street, overpriced hotels and airbnbs, and a mission to get in and out.

Yelp
Didn't let us in because we're American. Called us ordinary and told us to speak Italian. Which was SO funny because I could hear the AMERICAN music they were playing inside!! Do not waste your money. Everyone coming out of the club said how horrible it was inside. Run by a bunch of small ego bouncers looking for a power high. Pathetic.

Yelp
Unfortunate Discriminatory Experience I recently visited Music on the Rocks with a group of friends, all of us dressed impeccably and meeting all the club's entry requirements, hoping for a night of fun and entertainment. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an incident of discrimination that left us deeply disappointed and frustrated. Upon contacting the club beforehand and explaining our group composition (4 men and 2 women), we received a response suggesting that we would be allowed entry if we were "cool." Encouraged by this seemingly inclusive response, we made the one-hour journey to the club, only to encounter an entirely different reality upon arrival. To our surprise, despite meeting the club's gender ratio requirement and adhering to their stated dress code, the bouncer at the entrance blatantly denied entry to our two Italian friends. This decision appeared arbitrary and inconsistent with the club's purported policy, as confirmed by the front-end personnel who had initially communicated with us. The bouncer's unwavering determination to prevent the Italian members of our group from entering, despite our adherence to all requirements, was both perplexing and disheartening. Such discriminatory behavior is not only morally reprehensible but also illegal under Italy's anti-discrimination laws. These laws are designed to protect individuals from being unjustly treated based on factors such as nationality, race, or ethnicity. The club's actions not only violated the principles of equality and inclusivity but also infringed upon the rights of individuals who were simply seeking to enjoy their evening. Moreover, the club's response stating that "you can get in if you're cool" is another form of discrimination that introduces subjective criteria and opens the door to the abuse of power by a single bouncer's decision. Such subjective evaluations undermine the fairness and transparency that should be expected from an establishment that welcomes the public. I urge potential patrons to reconsider visiting Music on the Rocks, as our experience highlights a concerning lack of respect for customers and a disregard for the principles of fairness and equality. Discrimination should have no place in any establishment that welcomes the public, and it is essential that we support venues that prioritize inclusivity and respect for all. I sincerely hope that by sharing our unfortunate encounter, others can be spared from a similar distressing experience. Let us stand together against discrimination and choose venues that embrace diversity and provide an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

Yelp
They began to let in our group, then realized that there was a 2:1 guy girl ratio (math took a while to load). Upon completing their calculation, the group of bouncers with really cool tattoos and gratuitously unbuttoned shirts touched their ears simultaneously (regardless of the presence of an ear piece) then informed our party that reservations were neccessary to enter. It seems like a difficult policy to keep track of, so it totally makes sense they wouldnt remember until the exact moment it became apparent that we had 4 men and 2 women in our group.

Yelp
Bouncer was extremely rude and unprofessional. Will not be returning to this club. The club it's self was very cool but the staff made the entire experience unwelcoming. I do not recommend coming to this establishment if expect any sort of service or hospitality. Bouncer suffers from extreme short man's syndrome and will turn away anyone with force that does not have many women with them.

Tristan W.

Yelp
Believe the reviews, this place made me truly realize there's a dark racist, xenophobic, and homophobic underbelly of Italian culture that any American would be appalled at. Do not support this business. Absolutely the worst experience my friends and I have ever had at a "nightclub", could not rate this place lower if I could. Our friends were literally thrown out of the nightclub and onto the streets for being gay and dancing with each other at the club. When asked why, they flat out told us it was because they were gay and caused a scene in front of all the other guests. The bouncers and owners of this establishment are on a power trip with their little nightclub, pretending it's something more than it is because it's the only option in the town. The music is trash, the venue is tacky, the drinks are overpriced. Horrible experience all-arounds.

Yelp
Super neat place that is literally inside a cliff! The crowd in the nightclub was very young and there was a DJ playing all night. It wasn't crowded at all, but the staff said it gets packed between late June - September. The bar upstairs has delicious cocktails, but they're expensive (€17-€27) If you're going to splurge on one of the specialty cocktails, the vanilla passion fruit drink was amazing!

Alex H.

Yelp
Terrible bouncers and rude. If you are not Italian don't go, waste of time. The inside was empty and bouncers touched one of the girls in the group rudely. Honestly, stay away. Positano should get rid of this place, just awful. I read reviews and was trying to be optimistic but when we showed up it lived up to the terrible hype. Wish this want the case, anyway the reviews are true and it's terrible. Plan your night differently.

John B.

Yelp
Tiny Italian bouncers below 165 cm have napolian syndrome and are extremely rude. Drinks are overpriced and not great at all.

Logan B.

Yelp
Got stopped by the bouncers for "not bringing any girls" we were both of age and dressed appropriately. Before us they let multiple 16 year old girls in without any id verification. Don't go here!! Tourist trap and creepy men.

Yelp
Total waste of time and money. Caters to a crowd who obviously have a low bar and more interested in popularity than quality. Drinks averaging 25 Euro. REALLY NOW. They make a really big deal checking you out before you get to enter. Not sure exactly why. They acted like they were regulating the amount of people going in and out but it was only at 20% capacity the night we were there. There is an outdoor bar on the beach before you get to the cave. we went back there and had drinks.

Yelp
Unfortunately, my wife and I came at the very end of tourist season. Positano was almost like a ghost town at night. We came when they opened for the night the day before their closing party. It was extremely dead. Everyone decided to go to the Riva bar downstairs on the beach instead. The location is beautiful though. It's modern and edgy. It truly is building into the side of the cliff. The staff was friendly and the location was well maintained. My wife and loved Positano. We will definitely try to get back next year in August or early September to get the true vibe of Music On The Rocks.

Victoria T.

Yelp
Would rate this 0 stars if i could. The most rude bouncers and service I have ever encountered. This place also creates a fake line and forces people to wait outside for hype. Once you get inside, the cocktails are overpriced and the bar is 80% empty. DO NOT GO HERE.

Bohdan G.

Yelp
The bouncer was an incompetent fool. Looked me up in down in my button down and pants and didn't thing I was "rich" enough to enter the club. Said it was an exclusive club. This is the only club in positano like this. No way in hell this is exclusive, massive tourist club that apparently didn't want my money. Extreme emphasis on how pathetic the bouncer was.
google avatar

Veronica P.

Yelp
Touristy, but big and energetic club that made for a fun night out! It was an older crowd when we went on a Saturday night but the mixture of house and top 40 music made the night fun nonetheless. Drinks are expensive at 20 euros for a rum and coke (higher than south beach prices), but that's to be expected. They have a lounge area on the top floor that made a beautiful, chill setting to pregame with exquisite views before the club opened.

brewer c.

Yelp
Bouncer had SEVERE little man syndrome. Kicked us out for not wearing pants and closed toe shoes at a BEACH club. When offered an extra tip for entry asked if I thought he was my "bitch". came back a second time in proper attire according to their rules and was declined again, not only that but he thought it was appropriate to use physical force to push me and two other people away from the club entrance and tried to start a physical altercation. Been to many bars throughout Europe and this was not only the worst experience but the most violent encounter as well.

Yelp
Best DANCE CLUB in Italy. Peppe one of the brother owners is warm and very welcoming with caring attention to making your experience amazing. The RADA Ristorante on top is outstanding with ocean and beach views plus wave sounds as you dine in a classy yet informal nice atmosphere. Must visit the CANTINA for outrageous wines and photos. Just AskTravelLeo@gmail.com Because I've had the pleasure of enjoying all the pleasures this place has many repeated times. 5 STARS and GO DO IT. Musicontherocks.it

Yelp
Such a fun place!! Came here while on vacation and it really is the only place in the area to have a good time. They play great music of all different genres and get a crowd ranging in ages. Most drinks are $10/each but they are good. Be sure to dress up a little since everyone inside seemed to be. While inside you'll get a great view of the beach and water. It's hard to miss from land since it has bright lights and loud music. Go and have a good time!

Yelp
great spot in a cave. open till 5am!!! €12 drinks made well by friendly bartenders. first DJ was weak but picked up as night went on. great lighting. we went upon open and there was no cover then. it got busy quickly. on busy nights there is a typical grumpy bouncer type who decides if you are cool enough to get in or asks for your reservation ( and a cover of €30-40, which incl a drink) and I get the impression the price changes according to his judgement of you, but we came back the next night w out incident. I'd say it's worth checking out even w cover. also, the upstairs Flybar makes incredible cocktails, friendly professional staff, is chill and sophisticated w live and talented pianist. and the best damn cookies we've ever had . dangerously good.

Yelp
Music on the Rocks is such a unique and fun nightclub! I have never seen anything like it. It is actually situated in a cave right on the shore of Positano. The drinks are very pricey but also very flavorful, strong and diverse. They play a variety of music that appeals to all and the dance floor lights make more a killer ambiance. I had so much fun here!

Johnny S.

Yelp
Was going to meet my family there after we had a nice dinner in Positano but I had to get something from my hotel room first so I told them I would just meet them there. If you don't want me to go in because I didn't bring any girls then you need to say that. Whoever that petty middle aged man that was outside is I'm talking to you. You can say that to me instead of standing there in awkward silence and telling me you don't like how I'm dressed and that I should change when I see dudes in t shirts wearing backpacks walking out and I'm in a button down collared shirt. PETTY AS FUCK. The dj was also horrible didn't try to make a transition once just played songs in different tempos on top of each other and faded them out. I know how a club works so you could have said that and I would understand instead of flat out lying and telling me to walk back to my hotel to change. Not cool. Probably could have had fun there if you told the truth. They ended up immediately letting me in after MY MOTHER came down the steps and I told her what was going on.
