Google

Google
I go here whenever I'm in the city- last time I went, I mentioned a couple albums I was looking for and the gentleman at the desk went downstairs and in a few minutes he had exactly what I was looking for! Not only does this shop have a great selection to browse but the employees have a great knowledge of the stock and are more than willing to help you out with specific items. Pricing is reasonable as well. Go-to record store when in Boston!

Google
I've been collecting vinyl for nearly 2 decades and this is one of my favorite stores. They always have something interesting and have no shortage of rare finds in addition to classic rock mainstays. The dudes that work there are very knowledgeable and always help you find what you are looking for

Google
One of my favorite spots to buy. A well- vetted collection of classic records- I’ve never been able to leave without a couple of their picks in hand- generally all at a reasonable price, too. The staff’s all super cool, too, and they know their stuff. A must-see spot if you’re in the area. Whether you’re a tenured collector, or if you’re just starting out collecting, it’s worth a visit.

Google
This is my favorite vintage record shop! In keeping with the name of the store, the guys have curated a great collection of records from a variety of genres. My collection of vintage Jazz LPs has grown significantly since I started shopping here. They also buy and take in trade (select) LPs at a fair price.

This is a small but very well-curated record store in Beacon Hill. I found some really unusual things and some I had searched for years. Easiest parking is over by the capitol building. I will visit again when in Boston.

Google
Great selection of music on a great aesthetic proposal inside a great neighborhood, this place can’t go wrong. Awesome selection of rares, jazz and hip hop, quite unexpected and hard to find. Good service and pricing can vary on the rarity of the items!

Google
Today was my first visit to Music Research Library. I wish I could give them a 6th star. I was looking for some very specific vinyl. Co-owner. Vas, dropped what he was doing to help me. By looking through inventory and back stock to find what I was looking for.. I left with not one album but three of EXACTLY what I was looking for. Thank you, Vas. It's great store. I look forward to many return visits.

Yelp
Great spot with some really unique and rare finds. Small but packed with vinyl and knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
This place is most definitely a vibe. Very bright with lots of greenery. Great prices, great selection, especially if hip hop/jazz/soul is what you're looking for. Wish I got the guys name who was working today. He was playing some good tunes, and was super friendly. Will most definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Visited this store for the first time today. What a nicely curated store! The owner, Zack is knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of room to flip through albums (always a pet peeve) and there is definitely something for the serious LP collector here.

Yelp
Excellent selection of used/new records, some rarities. Owners are always friendly, insightful, and are usually playing something groovy and obscure. Space can be a little tight, but it's never been a problem for me. Absolutely recommended to anyone in the area looking for classic rock, soul, hip hop, or jazz LPs.

Yelp
This is the best record store Rhody has had since Skippy White's closed down. MRL is already legendary amongst those in the know. First, and most importantly, the owner(s) are personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. All that 'tude you get elsewhere is not a problem at MRL. And quite honestly, with the caliber of records they get, they ARE the ones who should have the 'tude. Luckily not, as they have cultivated a welcoming and community-based environment in the store. Further...they have a constantly replenished New Arrivals section, and also top notch Jazz, Hip-Hop, Soundtrack, Soul, etc... And they even have a Library section! Yes, a store in RI has a whole section of Library records. They also have oddball, foreign, gospel...plus bins full of dope records at bargain prices. So many cool records and such a great vibe, this place is a true jewel. RI is lucky to have MRL.

Yelp
Out of the way place but the small store is packed with interesting records. Guys are friendly, there's a turntable with headphones so you can test out LPs before buying. Varied selection and a whole bunch of bargain boxes to root through if you have browsing time.

Yelp
If you are serious , and not just a browser, this store will leave your head spinning and your pockets empty.

Yelp
They say that bookstores and record stores are things of the past. But while Tower and Borders may not have survived, there seem to be new indie record stores opening all around -- deeply independent, dedicated to the music, racks of rare and interesting records -- welcome, Music Research Library on Dike Street, Olneyville, Providence. Hard to believe, eclectic selection of LPs here, plus you get to hear some cool tunes while digging (thanks, Mr DJ). With this spot plus Analog Underground and Armageddon on Broadway, there's quite a burgeoning used-and-new LP and CD neighborhood blooming here. Patronize them!

Yelp
Best record store I've been to in a while. Had everything I was looking for and more. Jazz, rap, soul, experimental, and more. Could not recommend more.

Yelp
This is a awesome hidden gem of a store! I happened to be walking down Dike st, and saw the sign so decided to check it out. The two guys working there were super helpful and very accommodating. I wasn't sure about a few records, but they let me play them on their turntables and helped me choose a few that I had never heard of, and probably would have passed by without their help. The only thing I regret is not bringing enough money!! I will definitely be back soon and highly recommend this record store to everyone. Very knowledgeable staff, and they are very welcoming, and do not judge you on your taste or lack of musical knowledge. Can't wait until I get my next paycheck so I can go back!

Yelp
Best record store in providence no question. Don't sleep. Get to MRL you won't be disappointed.
