Musiikkitalo - concert and event venue

The design of this hall is very unintuitive to get around, particularly if you are sitting in the upper seats behind the stage. You enter from the back side of the theater, but then have to walk toward the front, climb up the stairs on that end, and then walk down to the back again. When exiting, you have to wait for everyone to funnel down one narrow hallway. Not only is that inconvenient, but it made me uncomfortable from a safety stand point. I did not see any emergency exits either. I wish that the designers of this hall had taken into account safety and comfort on equal terms with acoustics and aesthetics.

The Helsinki concert hall is designed in terms of acoustics. I've tried every section of the hall and everywhere you can hear the music clearly, even in the top parts behind the orchestra. The Concert Hall have a very sophisticated microphone setup and excellent speaker's to take care of that.

They have very spohisticated mic setup and amplifiers to take care of that. The cafe is quick and cheap on intermissions, I've always had time to enjoy some soda and pastries. The Helsingin Kaupunginorkesteri and Radion Sinfoniaorkesteri conserts are very cheap, starting from 10e per ticket and they play very well. I've found many new pieces of music from their concerts that probably would have never heard otherwise. Free cloakroom service, free printed programmes, excellent service at every step on the way.

Surprisingly good acoustics when I attended the HeBo orchestra last weekend. Representative and spaceous venue.

Stunning concert hall, superb acoustics, and adventurous programming. Tonight's concert, which ended with Stravinsky's Firebird, was sublime --poems, stories and music in conversation.

Good place to have a special moment with family

The Helsinki Music Center is another typically snazzy and striking piece of Finnish architecture. It is the city’s premier venue for classical music concerts. The building comprises various cuboid glass sections and is topped with a sloping grass roof. Helsinki Music Center’s main concert hall is famed for its vineyard-style terraced seating design. The music center is also home to the renowned Sibelius Academy, where budding Finnish musicians learn their trade.

A remarkable building. I didn't manage to listen to any music, but can only imagine the music acoustics.
