Had a great experience at Muskaan Restaurant. The food was fresh and full of flavor — you can tell they really care about quality. The waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcome right away. The place has a nice, relaxed vibe. Definitely coming back soon!

The lunch buffet is to die for! Best veggie pakora I've ever had. Great price and great selection. There are different options every time I go in and they're all incredible. Now my favorite Indian restaurant in town (and I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants). My Indian partner gave it a gold star, too. His seal of approval isn't easily won!

The service at this Restaurant was commendable. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that all guests had everything they needed throughout their meal. As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The food is authentic and delicious! Everything is fresh and cooked to perfection! We had the Punjabi samosas, chicken tikka masala, curry shrimp, garlic naan, and chilli naan. Got everything spicy and it was tolerable if you're accustomed to eating spicy food. Mango lassi is so good! The ambiance is calm and relaxing. Not too cold or warm. A must try!

I'm kind of a biryani fiend; and my favorite style of biryani is the dum biryani style. a lot of the biryanis I've tried in Bakersfield didn't have this style or had fillers like bell peppers, which made it more pulao than Biryani. So far, after trying Muskaan multiple times, their biryani is as close or is dum biryani style, and actually an amazing deal for $12.99 for Chicken biryani. I was impressed and I think people should try their biryani.

This is a newly opened restaurant and is definitely going to bring “Muskan” on your faces. We had buffet and the dishes were limited but were delicious. In starter they had pakodas and tandoori chicken(which I felt sud b a bit spicier). In main course they had couple of veg and non veg options. We tried chicken manchurian,butter chicken, chicken curry with garlic naan. We also tried dal but it was ok not that great if you are fond of dal makhni. Lastly, we had Gajar ka halwa and rice pudding which were really nice. Only problem I felt is they need to have good fly catcher installed as they had flies inside and it was really irritating. Overall good place to try Indian food.

I came back after more than a year and this restaurant continues to WOW me! As a gf vegetarian I found ample delicious options in their lunch buffet including vegetable curry, rice, mixed vegetable pakora, spinach cheese paneer, raita, dal, chutneys including a delicious green mint one, and a yummy rice pudding with sweet rose syrup. They were even kind enough to accomodating my gf by allowing me to replace the naan bread with papadam wafers (lentil). I do not know how they can stay in business with an all you can eat $12.95 buffet lunch but I am hoping my review will increase business there - if this place goes away I will be heartbroking and foodless in Bakersfield.

We just came to eat and online it says their hours of operation and we show up and they're closed! When you show up with a hungry stomach it's very upsetting when something like this happens. Why is it closed? It's 1:06pm on a Thursday

A huge building and I wasn't expecting inside to be/seem to small. Friendly staff. Butter chicken was delicious. Chow mein type noodles were also very good. I wish they had more variety on their lunch buffet but for $12.99 can't beat it

Pretty good lunch buffet at this spot on Wilson, in the olllllld Straw Hat location. I really enjoyed the cucumber salad, the cauliflower dish, and the samosa more than anything else. Very good price on the buffet.

I've been seeing a couple reviews about this place and I wanted something different so I thought I would try the buffet for lunch. It was delicious and I would highly recommend for lunch. Service was great and the staff was friendly and attentive. Building is a little old and you can tell they are working on the inside appearance but was clean and they received an A on the health department grade (I'm real big on this) .. overall I'm glad I stopped in today and will definitely be back soon. You gotta try it for yourself !!

Outstanding food and service!!! We were the first ones to hit the buffet line today. Everything was super hot and fresh. I saw some reviews on the spice level of the dishes on the buffet. I have to say everything was spiced up perfectly. The staff were super attentive. They wanted to make sure we had the best dining experience!!! We will definitely be back for more off buffet creations.

This is a hidden gem for many reasons. My husband and I stopped by to pick up a to-go order for a late lunch. The serving potions are large and I find that you get a lot for what you pay for and I appreciate that. The staff are friendly and had recommendations for vegetarian options. We tried the tofu tikka masala and Aloo Gobi which are both vegetarian. The naan was delicious and ALL the food was still warm when we arrived home (which was a 15 minute drive home). We had plenty of leftovers and even when re-hearing the food it's still delicious. It looked clean, and they even have a lunch buffet option (dine in only) which we look forward to trying. I highly recommend trying their food and they are always super helpful with their recommendations.

I was craving Indo-Chinese and I found Muskaan. The restaurant interior was a bit off, but tables and floors were clean - so I didn't let that bother me. Their food were not bad. The two Indo-Chinese dishes had good flavor but but I did feel that it could have had more stuff - after getting couple spoonful of stuff out of it, we were only left with sauce. Better chicken had good portion and super flavorful. Naan was a bit on the thin and crisp for my liking, buy was still very good. I definitely will be back to try their other Indian dishes and/or buffet.

So muskan means smile and that you will have after enjoying the buffet here . Every item in the buffet menu tasted fresh and different than any other Indian restaurants in town . I particularly liked the tandoori chicken which is very close to real one minus the coloring . That also have Indian Chinese items in menu which are delicious and adds favor to the buffet. Right now the buffet price is only 10.99 . Go get it . Jazmine was very helpful and ensures your needs of water naan etc are met promptly. It is very clean inside so do not get carried away of the neighborhood . I will be back soon for sure hope they add goat meat to the menu

Food was perfectly spiced sooo good, staff was friendly. Definitely a must try if you're wanting some Indian food or something different/new.

I went on a weekday for the lunch buffet. liked how their tandoori chicken didn't have artificial coloring. Service was decent, but nothing special. The server could be more attentive. Price was very affordable. Overall, a decent Indian restaurant, but I won't be returning because there are many far better options in the same price range in town -- some just about a mile away

Delicious Indian buffet, wanted to have a quick Indian lunch on our way to vegas from Paso Robles. So many dishes for just $10.99! They had mix pakora, hakka noodles, chicken manhurian and tandoori chicken for appetizers.. for main there was chicken curry, butter chicken, paneer makhni, dal and mix veg. Fresh naan brought to table, garlic or plain. However naan took a long time to prepare and our entrees got cold by the time it came. Dessert was ok.. ras malai and gulab jamun. Lunch buffet ends at 2.30 pm but at 2 pm a lot of things were almost gone.. but the staff refilled everything upon our request. There was a kid running all over the couch where we were sitting but the hostess still gave us the table which was run over by the kids at the nearby tables. I hoped the hostess would have given us a cleaner booth next to the table. And she got our check at 2.25 saying they were closing in 5 mins which I thought was rather rushed especially coz it took them so long to get our naan.

Came for the dinner buffet and were very impressed. The food is delicious and the staff was so kind and helpful. Explained dishes to us and spice level. The buffet is definitely a good way to dry all the dishes. We will certainly be back!

Super excited because this new restaurant is literally walking distance from my job! Lol anyways i came by for their lunch special and food was delicious. They had many options to choose from. When we arrived not all of the items were ready so we had to wait not too long for some items. The star of the show was definitely the naan it was delicious. But honestly everything I tried was delicious and tasted great. My favorite was the Indian saag and butter chicken. Great customer service as the waiter was really helpful on identifying each dish. Can't wait to come again

Best Indian Buffet in Bakersfield! Delicious fresh and hot food and friendly customer service. Plenty of fresh Garlic Naan bread with buffet purchase order. Clean restaurant with plenty of clean tables with table cloth, silverware and napkins for family and friends to eat. Check out my pictures. Party of 2 during lunch is less than 23 bucks. I have yet to try their dinner buffet but everything is it's affordable compared to other restaurants in town. Come try them out! Muskaan has been open for about 8 months. Just to give you an idea-We come together as a party of 4 adults lunch it's was $54. 09, we tip $10 cash.

Food: 5, service: 5, ambiance: tablecloths and glassware We found Muskaan Indian through other Yelp reviews and wanted to share our experience. Although they weren't crowded on this Thursday, the food was still hot and fresh on the lunch buffet line. We called ahead for gluten-free options and were able to speak to a knowledgeable person from the kitchen. When we arrived 15 minutes later, we again asked to confirm which dishes were GF, and Chef Ravi personally came out to go over each item with us. He even prepared fresh fritters to make absolutely sure they were gluten-free. This kind of attentiveness for someone with celiac disease is very much appreciated, and the bonus was that each dish we sampled was delicious. The paneer makhani and butter chicken were especially tasty. The lunch buffet is very reasonable, and we will be back. Thanks for the extra care, Chef Ravi!

Tried the full dinner service a couple weeks ago and loved it. The staff greeted us right away and were all very kind throughout. The Butter Chicken (favorite in all of Bakersfield!) and Lamb Korma were excellent. Big portions as well! My family was all full after just one helping each, so we took the rest home (I hope the chef wasn't offended!), and the food was somehow even better as leftovers! But, wanted to try the lunch buffet before leaving a review, so came back today and everything was fantastic! Lots of traditional Indian favorites (great Kheer!) plus some new/different dishes I've never had before. Also had a few Indo-Chinese options in the buffet which was unique (for Bakersfield at least) and quite tasty - I'll definitely have to try some of the options on the dinner menu next time. Best of all - very reasonably priced, especially these days. Only $10.99 for the lunch buffet - everyone should come try it at that price! And, if the owners or chef see this - ever consider doing an Indian pizza?

Again the lunch buffet is the best in Bakersfield for price, flavor and selection. The server are nice, attentive and knowledgeable. Butter Chicken, Mandarin Chicken, Noodles, Daal, Tandoori and their vegetarian dishes are flavored like Indian food should be. Samosas are freshly made and heavenly!

This is our third time this month visiting this place. This is where Cafe India (one of the best Indian restaurants in Bakersfield) used to be and we decided to give it a try. We have had our share of Indian restaurants in Bakersfield, some good, some bad. We have to say: Muskaan is our new favorite! The service is great and the food is even better. I always get the Aloo Gobi, it's tender, flavorful and spicy. My husband gets the butter chicken, he says the chicken is tender and seasoned really well. The garlic naan is somehow soft and crispy at the same time. So good. The ambiance is simple but elegant. This place has been around for a couple of months, I think. Give this place a try if you want flavorful, tasty Indian food.

The food was delish and met the expectations of what was mentioned on the menu to the customization ordered to what was served on the table. We were the only customers at that time of the night as it was raining. Nevertheless, the staff were attentive and checking up on us regularly to make sure we were doing okay. Initially, we asked for a dessert which was mentioned to be available, but otherwise after checking with the kitchen. We did switch to another dessert. The main chef / owner did send the original dessert and explained why they were hesitant to send it initially with the reason being the proportion being 2/3rds of the original serving size. (They could have easily passed that as one serving size or not send it at all) That was kinda heartwarming along with the yummy desserts of course!! Don't miss it if you are in the area. I would certainly come back to taste their lunch buffets should the timing sync.

The buffet was great. It was only $10.99. There was a large selection of vegetarian options. There were meat dishes, too. I'm a vegetarian, so I didn't really examine them. I'll be returning. The waitress was also very friendly.

Delicious lunch buffet. They are only open until 3. Very clean with pleasing Indian music. They seated me immediately. The tables are nicely spaced so there is privacy and they have booths.

I just tried this new Indian restaurant today and I'd say it's one of the best, if not the best, Indian lunch buffet in town. The restaurant itself definitely is not the fanciest, it doesn't have the best location, but damn that curry is bomb, and that's what really matters. Highly recommend the saag (spinach curry), paneer, butter chicken and goat curry. Also, get the mango lassi, it's really good and not overly sweet like most other places. Service was excellent as well. Will be back.

First time eating here with my family and we love it. We came for the dinner buffet. All the dishes at the buffet is so good. My mom and I love the goat curry. My sister love the butter chicken. My dad love the butter chicken and goat curry. The service is good. Sadly, they don't have samosa and pistachio kulfi. We wanted to try it but we can try again next time. Highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Indian food. The server Jaswind is so nice. She even gives us two baskets of garlic naan. So good, tasty and delicious. Love the char and garlic flavor of the naan. Definitely come back here again.

I was questionable at first due to its location but the ambiance is so refined. The inside presentation is clean and well put together. The staff was very hospitable when ordering to go. They will seat you and serve you water as you wait for your order. 10 out of 10

Saw them on yelp and gave them a shot. From out of town and like good Indian food. Picked and brought back to my hotel- was still hot and tasted so good. Very pleased and would stop again on my return to Bakersfield.

First time here with hubby trying Indian food. Food was delicious, liked 99% of it . Manchurian chicken was my husbands favorite. Service was great. the waitress was asking if food was good numerous times advised her first time trying it . She asked if we liked. No, I'm NOT recommending this place and I'm an Indian food lover! Went in to try the dinner buffet that starts at 5pm. We arrived at 6pm and there were ZERO items in the buffet table!! I asked about the buffet, and was told yes they have buffet, but when got closer to buffet area, I saw they didn't have any food in the buffet!!! They have a huge sign hanging outside advertising buffet... what a joke! The hostess sat us (2 ppl) at booth next to a busted window (no one else was in dining room) and the Bakersfield sun was beating in, I told them that sun was bright can we sit somewhere else, she offered the seat behind that one with another busted window and same sun position. I stated that the sun is too bright (even sunglasses weren't enough), can we sit in shaded area, they said, no that area is closed. We were the only people in the place and they refused to accommodate. That will be the last time I try that place. I went to Heart of India where they are always pleasant and always accommodating with good food guaranteed!! Also, The two hostess/servers seemed bothered not friendly, just thumbs down experience all the way around. Bad neighborhood too, lots of homeless in parking lot. Nope this place is not for me!

Me and my wife decided to randomly dine here for brunch, and the service and food were excellent. The staff was very attentive and they made an extra effort to ensure that everything was satisfying. By the way, ask for some cha (hot beverage) it doesn't disappoint. Moreover there is lots of space and the prices are great. Will come back!

Went to lunch buffet for 10.99 great price so worth it very yummy just the right spiciness all the chicken was melt in your mouth my only complaint is the white rice is a bit hard maybe from sitting under the heat lamps but everything else was delicious

We ordered chicken biryani mild and got spicy chicken biryani that was not close to biryani. Felt like spicy chicken curry had been added to little rice that made us feel sick. Disappointed

We were spending the night in Bakersfield and decided to try Muskaan based on the great reviews. We absolutely loved the delicious authentic Indian food served there. We have spent time in India and this food was as good as you get there. We ordered Dal Tadke and Aloo Gobi and both were so flavorful with wonderful spices. The tandoori roti was perfect too. The service was quick and our 2 servers were friendly and warm and we enjoyed chatting with them. I would highly recommend this new restaurant and we plan to stop by again on our next trip through Bakersfield.

Passing through town and yelp helped us find this great restaurant. We love Indian food and search out Indian restaurants when we travel. Food and service were both 5 star. Loved the burnt garlic fried rice ( not Indian obviously), Tikka masala, samisas and naan. Portions were generous and served with house made sauces. The building was lacking, but they made the effort with a nice table setting. Would definitely recommend.

We were looking for a good Indian food for quick lunch on our trip. Found this relatively new family run place. Food was fresh and delicious. We went for the buffet and loved it. Service was also very good. Ambiance is ok.

Random find of excellent Indian food. Amazing flavors and spice. Highly recommend. Will be back for sure!
