This place has so much potential - its a beautiful spot, nice and quiet, stunning beach. It's just a little run down and for the price that you pay ($1.1K/night NZ) its disappointing mainly due to the room. We stayed in the garden bure - which just feels a bit tired, the towels are worn through, we had ants everywhere, outside furniture is old, beach towels were not changed (and after a day on the beach with kids it needs a refresh). |On the plus, the food was great, staff were delightful, loved the live music, great to have kayaks and the activities on offer were all really great.

NOT RECOMMENDED. This resort (while tired) has the potential to be an amazing holiday destination. However, we suffered an unfortunate illness in my 9 year old son while staying, which was painful and distressing. After 2 types of antibiotics not working and days of painful screaming, on day 5 we unfortunately connected it to the villa private pool when another little boy had the same painful issue while swimming. The connection was undeniable but management refuse to accept this.
We requested a partial refund and a test of the pool.
Resort management say the pool was tested and subsequently provided a snippet of a report, but refuse to provide the whole report - which states that it "must not be reproduced except in full". The other child's mother has written to the resort to confirm their own experience. Again, the connection is undeniable, but still management refuse to assist.
Regardless, this was the worst $FJ11,000 i have ever spent. The fee paid is for the use of their tropical facilities and we had a right to enjoy them not to be made very sick by the facilities. This could have been an enjoyable break, but was a nightmare for myself and my child for 7 days. If Resort management had assisted instead of denying I may have been able to give potential traveler certainty that any concerns while staying would be addressed, but i cannot. Based on personal experience both at the resort and subsequent emails I certainly would NOT RECOMMEND Musket Cove to any traveler.

LOVED staying at Musket Cove. Everything was perfect! The staff are so lovely and accommodating, the food was great with lots of variety and there are lots of activities to keep you busy! We stayed in a two bedroom villa in the Adults Only section and the villa was exactly what we expected. We loved having a small pool there as well as access to the large pool. We did the Dolphin Safari, Snorkeling and the Village Tour and loved all of these activities! I also had a lovely massage at the resort spa which was one of the best massages I’ve ever had! Could not fault Musket Cove, we will definitely be back again! :)

We just arrived home from spending a week at Musket Cove Resort and I must say I was very disappointed in the whole experience. The rooms were very run down, not clean, the eating areas were run down and chairs were sticky when you sat in them, and the food was not very nice and had to send back numerous meals due to being undercooked. (Apparently the staff are not trained chefs or cooks) so food hygiene levels were not to optimal standards. Both of us got sick and had to call in the nurse due to food poisoning. The rest of our time there we ate very plainly due to not trusting the food. It was highly expensive. The pool area needed a sun shade over the pool as there was limited shade areas.
Upon check in, we were supposed to be given a $500 credit voucher to use on beverages as part of our package and was not given this nor offered this until we had to pry this out of the staff at reception who reluctantly complied.
On a positive note: The Island is beautiful and the water is stunning.
We wont be going back to stay at Musket Cove should we go back to the Island/s. Very disappointing. The whole dwelling/s are very outdated and in need of major upgrading.

Very nice resort, rooms are very clean and the staff are very nice! The food is great as there is a buffet for breakfast and dinner! For lunch you get to select from a menu. Nearby reefs are very good for snorkeling, we recommend doing the free sandbank snorkeling activity.

Worst resort in Fiji. The website makes it look amazing. But it’s not. ||We had two rooms and both rooms were in disrepair. The plantation shutters had broken vanes on every window. ||During our stay in the adult area (so it’s called) we had local kids screening and playing loud music. (Don’t advertise an adult area if you do t have it) ||the food was the next disgrace. Traders cafe we ate here twice and each time it took a long time only for the food to be cold on arrival. ||Fijian resorts are renowned for their friendly staff. Not this resort. When we arrived we had no welcome song. No porters to collect bags from the boat. ||also a terrible checkin. As they tried to check us in under a different name. ||Luckily we only stayed here for two nights and moved to an amazing resort. ||Musket cove you have an amazing position on a beautiful island. Sort your back of house and front of house as staff morale was bad and this only comes from bad management. ||We won’t be back.

Bula, I wanted to start out by saying I have never done a review before but feel this needed to be addressed.|Staff was friendly at first until we complained about the leaking room/roof and having great difficulty getting new towels.|On one occasion our 4 used bath towels that we had placed on the floor to be replaced (per their instructions) were not replaced just put back on the hand raill. The cleaner, who was sent to apologize, confirmed that her assistant had rehung dirty towels. This is very upsetting as we had 4 people in this room and easily could be using an other person’s used dirty towel.|I talked with the front desk every day about not getting beach or bath towels. This is frustrating to me as towels are a basic necessity.|Afterwards I had a meeting with the manager at the front desk about the problems we experienced.| I asked for money back and he insulting offered a 3% refund. We paid over $9000 and were given $300 in compensation for experiencing issues daily. |I took this offer because that’s all they were offering, but feel they should have given more for all problems and wasted time waiting and talking to the front desk on what was supposed to be a relaxing family vacation.|My opinion is to look for somewhere else to spend your family vacation.
