"Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap It’s often a surprise for visitors to Berlin to discover that Turkish postwar immigrants created the popular döner kebab here. The city takes its kebabs seriously, and there are several hot spots whose reputation precedes them. One such is Mustafa’s in West Berlin, which has reached a kind of cult status as much for its vegetable ( gemüse ) kebabs as for its chicken ones. Every day around lunchtime the modest stall has lines that stretch along the road, as people wait patiently for a crispy pita filled with the special mix of vegetables, salad, and homemade sauces, topped off with crumbled goat cheese. Get here outside peak mealtimes if you want to avoid the crowds."

The famous kebab for tourists. Waiting 1 hour to get this kebab. Taste actually just average but they put grill vegetables which is the unique one. Taste vegetable is good. No place for eat, so better prepare your leg 🤣

Google
Great kebab. Stood over an hour in queue as many others do. When I finally entered the place and saw them working, I can see they can easily bring the waiting time to at least half by optimizing the way they work as a team. The kebab taste damn good though.

Google
What a kebab!! We queued for about 40-45mins on a Saturday evening. It was worth the wait. The ingredients are very fresh and top quality for a very small cost. The bread itself is really good too. Everyone was getting yogurt for drink so we did the same! There is a spot nearby to seat and enjoy the doner kebab afterwards

Google
The famous Berlin kebab from Mustafu goes back many years. I decided to check it out. I think this is one of the best kebabs from Berlin, despite standing in an hour-long line. Kebab juicy, was not as greasy as at others, grilled vegetables really really good. Climate The small booth, covered with stickers, gives a good vibe to the place.

Staying in Berlin without trying one of the best kebabs in town… I couldn’t do that. 🙂 I was near Checkpoint Charlie and realised I was close to Mustafa’s one (I had a few other adresses in my pocket though). So 1h15min of waiting is not nothing, I can give you that. Now all depends on how bad you want it hein 🤣 I stayed and the verdict is… 🥁 It’s totally worth it. An excellent quality of chicken, slices are slim but juicy, savoury. The bread is amazing, it made this delicious “crunch” sound each time I bit in. Veggies - excellent, I would not have minded more aubergines but… chef’s choice after all. Mint and goat cheese in it, wow amazing. 🤩 I also appreciated the service. They are quick and it’s nice to see them relaxed and not nervous or speedy but rather smiling and cool. I totally recommend. PS don’t take a takeaway, eat it right there to have the better taste and for a better presentation of kebab 😉

Google
I’ve seen reels about this place and I really wanted love it, mainly because I waited over 1.5 hours for my kebab. But I felt it was full of MSG and I’ve had better ones without long waiting lines. The service is slow although there were three people working in that place. It seems only one person was taking care of cutting the meat and frying veggies. It says grilled but I saw him taking the frying basket out of the oil tank. The staff is friendly and the salad inside the kebab was fresh. But all in all, it is just not worth the hype.

Google
The first thing you need to know is that it's cash only. I'd queued 20 mins before I spotted this. It's definitely worth it as the drum was delicious- well filled and a lovely blend of flavours. Service friendly and smiley too.

Google
It’s definitely a must-try if you’re in Berlin. No matter what time of day it is, you’ll have to wait in line. We waited for 2 hours ourselves. The chicken wrap includes fries, peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, cottage cheese, and 2-3 types of sauce. Every bite is packed with flavor. You should absolutely give it a try — it’s worth braving the cold while waiting in line!

Yelp
fire doner, i loved !! so much better than the ones in england. all the fresh crunchy vegetables were such a great contrast to the rich, juicy meat. i loved the mango curry sauce as well. it being served in a german bun instead of a wrap was also super unique! the various vegan options including halloumi, falafel and seitan were really nice to see. in general i loved how great berlin is about having veggie options. the location was super close to my hostel and it was open very late. didn't like the card minimum at 10 euro but that's pretty standard across berlin. the fries were not very crispy is my only complaint.

Yelp
Nice foods but long queues! If you have time , why not. Service people are friendly.

Yelp
Awesome kebap place with vegetatian option. You might need to wait at peak hours but its definately worth.

Yelp
I saw Mustafa's on YouTube. It definitely lived up to the hype. This was a prime example of European street food at its best. For around 10 Euro you can fill your self up and still have some beer money.

James L.

Yelp
This was the BEST kebab I've ever had, the bread was crispy, the chicken succulent, the use of feta blew my mind. As a British man who loves a pint I have had many kebabs and this blew me away. If you're okay with queueing the service is great. Service was friendly and the place has a certain feeling that I can't replicate, go right next door and have a bottle of beer with your street kebab and just feel the city.

Yelp
How could you not love the best kabob in Berlin. Fast friendly service. There is a little bench you can sit and enjoy but basically take it and find a place. A must stop when visiting Germany.

Yelp
The food was good, but not worth the amazingly long wait. Like, hours long wait. My friend said it was his favorite kebab sandwich in all of Berlin, so we went with him, but I wouldn't go again.
google avatar

Nishant G.

Yelp
Good food! But not worth the wait, IMO. They are open late which is a plus. But lots of good options in Berlin that are faster

Yelp
I am so happy my friend decided to take me here for my first meal in Berlin. I had no clue where I was going but when I arrived the line was half a block long. The wait was so long that we were able to knock down a couple beers and went back and forth to the restrooms. I even questioned myself if this was worth the wait, but when I finally got my first bite I was in heaven. The doner has a bit of everything in it that just compliments each other. The grilled chicken that has been on a pit rotating, mixed with onions, a variety of veggies and some tzatziki sauce. Every bite made me crave for more, I hope to come back here someday when I get the opportunity again!
google avatar

Nilsu G.

Yelp
There is nothing you could say negative about this place, beyond the wait. It really boils down to whether you have time or not. My wait on a week day evening was 45 minutes. But I was ready to take it on as a challenge. The corner smells of curry/grilled chicken/shawarma. Even though I had watched Youtube videos, I didn't anticipate the flavors exactly. The main distinction from traditional Turkish doner kebab is the addition of the fried veggies, sauce, and feta cheese on top. I would strongly recommend trying, it is not just a hype. I only wish they had a corner you could eat. This is literally the exit of the U-bahn and nowhere to stand and eat.

Alexander C.

Yelp
The guy prepared a delicious kebab for me and we had a fantastic conversation. Good deal!

Yelp
Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap has got to be offering one of the best döner kebaps in all of Berlin! The lines at this food truck attest to this fact, and indeed, the döner kebaps here are made a little differently than elsewhere. It starts with a crusty toasted oblong roll, on which is layered a choice of sauce (I like the spicy red chili sauce for a kick), slices of chicken döner cut fresh from a rotating spit, grilled vegetables including eggplant, peppers, and potatoes, and fresh salad including lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrot, and red onion, all dressed with crumbled feta cheese. The best part of the kebap was the chicken döner itself, which was perfectly seasoned with herbs and spices and had a nice crispy texture from the fire. Truly a delicious creation!

Yelp
We went to this place on a weekday night and it was such a long wait. It's definitely a touristy spot; I think almost everyone in line was a tourist. It took us about 2 hours to get our food. It's filling but I think I could have eaten 2. It's what you would expect out of a kebab. The bread is nicely toasted, sauce is good, chicken is delicious, and veggies are very fresh. I think the wait was worth it just to try it out since it's so famous, but I don't think I would go again. It doesn't taste that much different from other kebab places I've tried in Berlin, and it'd be hard for me to tell you which was truly better. +

Yelp
Everyone said this was a must try street cart. After getting extremely wasted, I proceeded to wait in line for the "best K-bap in Germany". It was cold and at 12am, there was still a line for about 35 minutes. I was so hungry I had other people wait in line while I went to the curry sausage spot down the street to get food. Overall, for the price, this is a pretty good k-bap. While I probably won't wait in line for it again, I think it is worth going at least once.
google avatar

Hassan S.

Yelp
Tasty different take on doner kebab, with chicken as the based with vegetables in the standard bread with standard toppings and sauce. The spicy here is actually medium spice. Will have to wait around 30 minutes in line but worth it.
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
In a city with some of the best döner the world has to offer, I'm not quite sure why you'd come to Mustafas - unless you enjoy touristy things, which I suppose is fair. The line is long, it's well known, and some people are into that type of thing. If it's quality, taste, and deliciousness that you're after, steer clear. I've been to 20+ döner spots in Berlin and this was easily last or second to last on my list. The toppings are subpar, the meat lacks flavor, even the bread leaves much to be desired. I'm not exaggerating when I say that instead of going to Mustafas, you should just go into the next döner shop you see while walking down the street. There's a 95% chance that it will be far superior. Mustafas is definitely a stop to avoid when coming to Berlin. It's not inedible, but there are far better options out there. If you want famous, try Rüyam Gemüse Kebab.

Yelp
I recently was on a Baltic Sea coast vacation, and visited Berlin w/ my family. Berlin is well known for their doner kebab sandwiches, so I knew I had to try Mustafas. Besides the 2 hour wait we endured (yes I am one of those idiotic tourist haha..anything for good food), the chicken doner kebab on pita bread was one of the best I have eaten (besides the one I ate in Dubai). This doner kebab beat all of the ones I have eaten in my hometown NYC. The pita bread was toasted to perfection, the vegetables were so crunchy and savory (the random potato piece made the sandwich even better) + the sliced chicken pieces was seasoned so well. This doner kebab was perfection! This place is worth the wait, maybe 1 hour the most. For me, although the doner kebab was truly delicious and the best I had - if I had to choose again I would not wait 2 hours for it. P.S - I started waiting on line at the area right between the currywurst & the bar next to it (that was my 2 hour wait).

Yelp
As the #1 most-Yelped spot in the city, Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap topped our list of places to try. The hahnchen doner mit gemuse (chicken doner with vegetables) delivered! If a mouth-watering tumble of seasoned chicken and vegetables pillowed in buttery French-like bread sounds good to you, RUN, don't WALK to MGK! AMBIENCE (3/5) Look for MGK's food truck near the U-Bahn station on the west side of Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg. Having read the Yelp reviews about 1-2+ hour lines, I arrived ~11pm prepared to wait. Luckily, the 10-15 person line in front of me moved quickly. 15 minutes and €3.50 later, I had a hot, fresh kebab in hand! There's no seating available, but you can hang out on the sidewalk and enjoy your sandwich. FOOD (5/5) Invented in the 19th-century Ottoman Empire, the vertical rotisserie revolutionized the cooking of meat. Similar to Greek gyros, Arab shawarma, and Mexican al pastor, doner kebab is a type of kebab, with meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Spiced meat stacked in an upside-down cone turns slowly on the rotisserie, next to a vertical cooking element. The outer layer is sliced into shavings as it cooks. MGK concisely offers four main options: - hahnchen doner mit gemuse (chicken doner with vegetables) - gemusekebap (vegetarian doner kebab) - durum (chicken with vegetables flatbread wrap) - vegetarisch durum (vegetarian flatbread wrap) The truck also offers: - donerteller (doner plate, ie doner minus bread, with chicken on one side and veggies on the other) - gemuseteller (vegetarian doner plate) - salatschale (salad in a bowl) - assorted beverages I ordered the regular chicken doner with vegetables. The staff carved chicken off the rotisserie, piled on cooked veggies ranging from sliced potatoes to bell peppers, added MGK's secret sauce, sprinkled on feta cheese, and squeezed fresh lemon juice over this mountainous masterpiece of a quick meal. As is the norm, there are three sauces for selection: Kräuter (herb), Knoblauch (garlic), Scharf (spicy). From the first flavor explosion to stuffing big bites that each included chicken, veggies, and buttery bread in my mouth, I thoroughly enjoyed my kebab. SERVICE (4/5) More efficient than I'd anticipated! I can see how waits could get long, though, so it might be smart to go during off-peak hours. PRO TIP: The city's second most visited spot, Curry 36, is right next door! I'd recommend snagging a currywurst with fries to munch on while you wait in line for kebabs. Street food heaven!
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
My friends and I were in Berlin in November and, of course, had to try a doner at Mustafa's. I had heard that lines could be really long--as long as two hours long! Fortunately for us, traveling during the off-peak season meant the line was only about 10 to 15 minutes long. I ordered my doner with everything but the hot sauce. We ate our sandwiches right there by the food stand. My two friends sat on a nearby bench while I stood, which turned out to be a smart move. Because as I stood there eating, the juices from the doner dripped onto the ground (not my lap!). And this was seriously the best sandwich I had had in recent memory--tender meat, a variety of vegetables, and awesome sauces wrapped with warm bread. I will definitely remember the doners at Mustafa's as one of my best meals in Berlin.
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
Super delicious!!! You'll have to wait a while but it's worth it. The meat is so tender and flavorful. If you don't want bread you can get a plate which is awesome. This place came highly recommended and I can see why! Would I come back and wait 45 minutes in line in the hot sun again? Honestly probably yes.
google avatar

Emanuel G.

Yelp
Extrem langsame Mitarbeitende. Sie sind extra langsam um eine Schlange zu bilden. Döner ist mittelmässig. Das Warten ist es nicht wert.
google avatar

Paul M.

Yelp
It had bee 5 long years since May 21,2013 when I last had Mustafas, today was a good day because I finally got to try them again!! Guess what? It's still the BEST freaking kabop ever. I love this place, and only 3.5 euros for this beautiful creation. Anyway, I included my photo from 2013 along with my current visit, it will be all I have to remember Mustafas until I come back to Berlin once again.
google avatar

Jen W.

Yelp
When we arrived in Berlin, G said let's try out this spot and get a doner. I was skeptical at first. I mean cmon...I was in Berlin. I wanted German food. I've had plenty of doners in SF. Geez, I am so glad I listened and ventured out to mustafas to try their hanchen doner (chicken). The line was long. Prob took us about 45 minutes to get to the front of the line. Get everything on it unless you have allergies. The doner was filled with tons of meat, veggies, potatoes and drizzled with cheese and sauce. Everything was absolutely delish and at such a cheap value. I am so sad that I will probably never try this spot again. It's definitely worth one of your meals if you're out there visiting.
google avatar

Aileen K.

Yelp
I don't get the hype. My friend and I waited over two hours to get the durum but they ran out by the time we got to the front, so we ended up still ordering so that we wouldn't have wasted the last two hours of our lives for nothing. Do try coming at different times because sometimes there is only a 30 minute or so wait. The food was a-ok. The bread got super soggy and it was all too big to eat so we had to use forks. The doner was also wayyyyy too salty. I do like the veggies mixed in there but they also mess with the texture in a negative way. I liked the sauces, but didn't taste the spicy one at all. Ask for extra if you like spice! I shall be back for the durum, but would definitely not wait more than 30 minutes.
google avatar

Miko B.

Yelp
These guys know how to whip up some really solid kebabs. Not to detract from the other components in the dish, but the veggies they serve here are particularly outstanding. I would kill to figure out what goes in the seasoning. The only downside to Mustafas? The queue can be borderline unbearable. ProTip: Kebabs, like burritos, taste 10 times better when intoxicated. Mustafas is open until 2am. You know what to do.
google avatar

Adam H.

Yelp
Fresh, amazing, and local. We have always heard Currywurst is the Berlin specialty and it is, but this tasty treat takes the cake. It was a little stand south of the main city area, cool little neighborhood. A very unassuming stand with a little crowd. Perfect. I got the classic Gemüse Kebap with no changes. It was flavorful, full of color and texture, and just enough spice. Probably one of my favorite foods of the whole trip. Definitely add to your food list.
google avatar

Why-Tie Z.

Yelp
As Born and Raised Berlin local - Mustafas Gemüse Döner is good don't get me wrong, but it's overhyped and extremely touristy. The line to get a Döner is ridiculous during day time. As local i would only go there on the weekends after the party at around 3-4 am with almost no line. Note after 4:30 am you'll risk that all the meat is gone. Taste, price and value wise - it's a great place. But would I be willing to wait 30 minutes. Hell no. Would you go to any other place around Mehringdamm instead? - HELL NO! Curry 36! is the worst curry wurst you can get lol. It's a place to attract tourists. There are far better ones, so don't get fooled! I'd recommend other places but most of these are more outside of the center. For a Gemüse Kebap, definitely worth a visit if the wait is less than 20 minutes
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
I have waited up to three hours (in the rain!) for this kebap. Every time I am in Berlin, I have to stop at this 'food truck.' The name of this place indicates that their main attraction is the vegetable kebap. It is excellent. Even if you're normally a carnivore, this kebap is delicious and satisfying. Their döner is different from other döner that can be found literally everywhere in Berlin and Germany because it contains potatoes. I think it might also have something to do with the flavors. But it's definitely different due to the potatoes. They have several sauces you can try on your kebap. Your best bet is to get all of the above. You can also order the chicken option, if you must have meat. It's not bad either. And they have a roll if you're hungrier and want something bigger. They only take cash so make sure you have that on hand. There's no seating at all but that doesn't stop people from finding an open spot and enjoying a taste of heaven right there on the street.
google avatar

Craig G.

Yelp
This is probably the best döner kebab in Berlin. You will probably wait close to an hour to snag one. It is definitely worth the experience. A food stand about the size of a halal cart in NYC (and inspiring the same kind of fanatic devotion as Halal Guys), the menu is limited to just a few choices: veggies on pita, chicken döner and veggies on pita, veggies on dürüm (a kind of flatbread wrap), and so on. They also offer up some Turkish juices and yogurt drinks. No matter your choice, you won't be disappointed. The chicken döner comes stuffed into a buttered and toasted pita layered with a thin spread of tahini, yogurt, and hot sauces, along with a mound of fresh and cooked veggies (onion, eggplant, peppers, cucumber) and crumbly dill-topped white cheese. Don't expect a quick bite but if you've got the time to kill, grab one.

Yelp
IT'S BAAAAAACK! Yes Mustafas is Doing What they Do Best! Delicious Doners unrivaled In Flavor and Fame. The Place has moved Ever So Slightly to the Side of the Building, But just look for the line And you know what time It is. Remember to wait Patiently and try Not To Hold Up the Line With your Tourist Tactics! Halt die Klappe...bitte.
google avatar

Jonathon V.

Yelp
Most famous for a reason. Fantastic döner. It is a bit touristy and yes, you can get döner all over the city, but this one is just different for a good reason.
google avatar

Bryan B.

Yelp
BEST. KEBAP. EVER. Made a point to visit Mustafas based on the reviews and my God am I happy we did. We visited for a late lunch around 2 o clock and had a little bit of a wait. We ordered two kebabs and had them loaded up with meat, veggies and extra spicy sauce! The combination of flavor with the fresh veggies and meat is crazy good. The employees working were friendly as well and made the experience even better. The food was so good we made a 11PM visit the next night before leaving Berlin to enjoy Mustafas one more time.
google avatar

Kimberley Y.

Yelp
4.7/5 Great kebab for a low price! The meat was amazingly juicy and tender, the pita bread was wonderfully warm, and I loved the ample helping of veggies in the kebab. What makes Mustafas special is the quality of ingredients in their sandwiches AND the experience of getting the kebab itself. I had the pleasure of traveling with a friend who was ABSOLUTELY bent on coming here, on par with going to Brandenberg Gate or the Reichstag, so Mustafas felt like a tourist attraction to be experienced and not just a random yummy food truck. That said, the line was surprisingly shorter than we expected when we arrived, given the hype and tales of long lines that we had read on the webs. My only sadness is that some of my food fell out as I was trying to eat it :'(
google avatar

Saehee K.

Yelp
A local had told me about this food stand and how I couldn't leave Berlin without trying it. I'm really glad I did! The line was long the day we went but not as long as I heard it could get. We maybe waited 45 min to 1 hour before we got to place our orders. I ordered the chicken with vegetables doner and it was worth the wait!! There is minimal space to eat around the stand itself, maybe some standing tables and ledges. We ended up just sitting on a bench nearby and the only downfall to that was all the bees!
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
A must try when in Berlin. I tried the wrap and the sandwich and would recommend the wrap handsdown!! Flavors were amazing, expect to wait about 15-20 minutes in line, but you will be rewarded with the best doner kebab in Berlin!!!!
google avatar

Kat N.

Yelp
OMG, the hype is real. If you're in Berlin, you must come! We waited for about 20-25 minutes and came around 9pm. There's no seating, but we purchased some drinks at the nearby bar and they were A-OK with us chomping on our kebaps too (encouraged it, even). Though we ended up going to other restuarants the rest of our nights in Berlin, I always threw this place on the table. Nowhere else have I ever tasted sliced/stir-fried potatoes as part of the vegetable mix. The other veggies/gemuse were spot on too mmmm - I think there was zucchini and cucumbers and just yum. The wrap is a cleaner way to eat the same goodness, but it doesn't have that kebap crunch. And all under 5 euros. This was the 2nd doner kebap place we had in Berlin, and Mustafas just blew the other place outta the water.

Artur P.

Yelp
Decent doner, but the speed at which the employees cook when there are 40 people in line is like spitting in your face.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is LONG OVERDUE but in talking to a friend who is planning a trip to Germany I realized I needed to find this place so I could direct her to it. The fact that I hadn't reviewed this place till now is a sin considering how good it is, but I probably just looked at the yelp page and figured that I couldn't say anything that hadn't already been said. However Redundancy never hurt anyone, sooooo... This is the best place ever. Seriously would come here for lunch every day (like some people clearly do) if I lived in Berlin (I wish) It's fresh, it's filling, it's flavorful, and friendly. And fast! And 'ffordable! (I was trying to keep the alliteration going) I'm usually a diehard carnivore but I went for the vegetables here and they are so amazingly good you aren't even mad. I almost stuck around the area just so I'd have an excuse to get another one for dinner. This spot is insanely popular and while they're fast I would still recommend that you get there right when they open if you don't want to wait more than a few minutes. Also bear in mind there is basically nowhere to post up so be warned! You will be eating standing up and doners are not super easy to eat but the messiness is worth it. Just have some wet wipes handy.

Maureen M.

Yelp
Best doner we had in Germany. Long line but worth it.
google avatar

Sophie P.

Yelp
Overrated or tourist gem? Unclear, but once we waited nearly 2 hrs for a doner kebab that tasted the same as if you were to go to a another decent place without mAssive lines. They're all over Berlin. Don't get me wrong-- it was delicious, but not for a 2 hr wait.
google avatar

Sanat S.

Yelp
I heard about the very long lines here, but luckily it wasn't TOO long of a wait the two times I went (which were, to be fair, not during usual peak hours). This place absolutely lives up to its hype. There is döner kebap in Berlin, and then there is döner kebap from Mustafa's. Whatever they put in the sauce and seasoning is brilliant, and makes them stand out from others, and the quality of the meat and vegetables was also really fresh. The service was fast and efficient, and despite the huge number of customers, the staff didn't appear stressed. The stand is located conveniently right outside the Mehringdamm U-Bahn station, and is open until late. Definitely worth eating from here when visiting Berlin.
google avatar

Khanh L.

Yelp
There is always a lineup here, it's totally worth the wait... I was in Berlin for five days, and we came here 3 times, on time we went so late that they sold out of meat so we got a veggie sandwich but it was still so good. The line moves along quite fast usually around 15 min, I don't mind the wait. The thing is huge when you look at it you're like that's too much I'm not gonna finish it. But then you take a bite, and wham hunger strikes, it's so good you just wolf it down like no tomorrow, it is that good, whoever thought a kebab could be this good? I mean it's ridiculous I'm so in love with this place... There a red sauce and a white sauce, they taste different but they really blend well, the fried veggies have a natural sweetness, the meat is juicy, there's some bit of goat cheese of ricotta which adds a nice salty tartness, the bread is soft and fresh I mean it's as perfect as it gets... I will so come back to Berlin just to eat here, and all this for about 3 euros, pshhhhh don't tell anyone it's cheap too... lol

Yelp
Best kebap!!! A must when in Berlin. We were there on a Wednesday at 3pm and only waited 10 minutes. The döners are delicious and I love that they had a vegetarian option (Gemüse). The fresh vegetables are so flavorful and the crispy, toasty bread completes it.

Yelp
The line is worth it! I thought my feet were going to freeze off. We stood in line for over an hour to get our doner in the freezing cold winter, but, when we got it, it was magical! All of the veggies and sauces and meat....it was so delicious, I almost regretted not getting two. This is a must visit if you're in Berlin.

Yelp
In Berlin's still-nascent Yelpland, this kiosk is rated the best place to eat in the city. Hey, that's no major shocker since San Francisco's best-rated eatery is neither Gary Danko nor Acquerello but the Codmother Fish and Chips shack on Fisherman's Wharf. Yelpers as a whole are bargain hunters for a square meal, and Mustafa's definitely offers a deal if you don't mind a bit of a queue, mostly made up of hipsters and workaholics at the 10PM hour when the place is bustling like crazy. I happened upon it only because I finished my virginal currywurst experience at Curry 36 on the same block and was on my way back to the U-Bahn station. Lo and behold, I recognized Mustafa's from my Yelp iPhone app and thought well, maybe I should have a second "dinner" and try one of their döners. Since I don't read German much less speak it, it was hard to make out what the menu choices were. Customers seem to blurt out something, and the two guys in the cart go into automatic pilot stuffing the pita bread. I immediately saw what looked to be chicken and just pointed out that I wanted the same thing the previous guy got in my best Helen Keller impersonation. What I got in about thirty seconds flat was the Hänchen Döner for about 2.90 Euros, a relative steal compared to everything else in Berlin. It was basically a three-course meal in a toasted pita that was a little too thick and chewy for my taste. There were shards of grilled chicken, cucumbers, marinated eggplant, zucchini, red peppers, tomatoes, roasted potatoes, avocado, red onion, and feta cheese (see photos). It was ridiculously huge especially since I just had a currywurst and pommes frites as an appetizer. I ended up eating half of it and desperately packaging the rest for a meal the next day. It was pretty good much like a Primanti Brothers sandwich with the fries stuffed inside. Understand my platinum standard for street food is still the 53rd and 6th Halal Cart in New York. This ain't close. FOOD - 3 stars...a solid, overstuffed döner undermined by that toasted pita and a few too many ingredients competing with each other AMBIANCE - 2.5 stars...it's a kiosk after all...good luck finding a seat to eat SERVICE - 3.5 stars...fast but not very communicative to foreigners like me TOTAL - 3 stars...hey, if you're still hungry after your currywurst, why not?

Yelp
Following the rave reviews to Mustafas, it was a little bit out of our way in the southern side of Berlin but definitely worth the trip. All the veges were super fresh and the meat cooked beautifully. Do come prepared for a wait as many people come here just for them. Service is fast, be prepared with what you want when your turn comes up and go ahead and order. The Doner is a good default for any first timer, and the wrap one is also good if you like flatter bread. Personally, definitely get the Doner and the bread is a big star on it's own, crispy on the outside and amazingly chewy on the inside. The stand itself does not have any seating unfortunately, but there is plenty of public areas to sit along side it as there is a big buidling right next door with lots of potted plants (read: can sit of the edges of the potted plant decorations).

Yelp
Yes the line is long. Yes, I know the line is very loooong. Do the queue and thank me later, it is worthy and they are open now in COVID19 times

Yelp
I had a hard time finding food I liked here. However, once I found this place I came here twice in a four day stay. I had to switch two trains to get here, and wait in a long line full of kids. The kids got it right though! Order it spicy!

Yelp
One of the things I've always loved Germany and Austria for is the fact that they have amazing Turkish food. The doner kebab stalls are fantastic and even an average place is much more superior to what we get in New York. Yes, even NY pales in comparison when it comes to Turkish street food. So when people told me this is the place to go if I wanted doner kebab I decided to bear the 40-minute wait on one of my solo afternoons. When I finally did take a bite of my durum (I opted for the flat bread wrap rather than a sandwich) I knew the wait was totally worth it. Each bite made my mouth and my stomach instantly happy. The meat is so well seasoned and succulent, the accompanying roasted veggies are perfect, and the salad includes feta cheese and it pulled everything together! Oh my, my mouth is watering at the memory. This is definitely one of the best kebabs I've had in my life! It was so good that at no time I finished my huge durum. Highly recommended! Oh, and the icing on top of it all? It's cheap! Now, go for if!
