A must visit conservatory museum, and I was thoroughly impressed! The ample parking space made it easy to park, and the building's exterior already hinted at the beauty within. Upon entering, I was struck by the neat and well-maintained interiors. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The pyramid biomes were fascinating, showcasing a stunning array of plants from around the world. The café was a highlight, offering delicious refreshments and a cozy atmosphere. But what truly stole the show was the beautifully planted floor garden at the entrance to the museum.A small souvenir shop is also present that has good collectables. I highly recommend this plant conservatory museum to anyone who loves nature, botany, or just needs a peaceful retreat.

Such a beautiful place!!! There are 4 pyramids with different plants in them! The pyramids themselves aren't huge, however there are a ton of plants in each!! I was a little sad there wasn't any butterflies however it was still worth the trip!! The parking is free, however you do have to register your plate when you go in. There are benches in the pyramids to sit and relax. There is also a cute coffee shop with tons of seating. They also have seating outside which is really nice also!! Would definitely go again :)

Google
What a beautiful place!! It was amazing! I enjoyed all four pyramids. So, clean, peaceful and well put together. I was very relaxed and it was very Zen like to be there. I sat in the Arid room on the comfortable chair at the entrance and felt like I was transported away. They have done a wonderful job. The flowers and grounds outside are beautiful and full of flowers everywhere!

Google
A great place to relax and get inspired! The Botanical Garden impresses with its variety of plants and flowers, well-groomed territory and peaceful atmosphere. Ideal for a walk in nature, taking photos or just a pleasant day with the family. There is also a wonderful cafe, where you can buy flowers and souvenirs. There is free parking for visitors, which can be reserved for a maximum of 6 hours.

The Muttart Conservatory moved me deeply. It reminded me of the biodiversity of my homeland, Brazil, and gave me a feeling of home. Seeing the flowers, leaves, and tropical and arid colors, and witnessing the ability to recreate them in an enclosed space, was truly amazing. Not to mention the traveling exhibition, which left us in awe with its spectacular underwater scenes. We will definitely return many more times!

Thoroughly enjoyed the Fleur de Villes display. Absolutely stunning displays. It was a curated event displaying 15 florists from Edmonton. Such wonderful talented individuals we have. We enjoyed wandering through all the pyramids and want to go it more often. In December there is usually a Christmas poinsettia display in the show pavilion.

Some days we forget that beautiful things don’t need words. Take a moment to enjoy nature. The air is different in there somehow, take a sit and breathe and if possible ‘exhale’. Plan to figure out a way to can the fresh air. Wanted to buy a plant by I remember that plants also need love, hopefully when I come another the next time I am brave enough and love sufficient to buy one. Also, met some classy ladies and gentleman today. They all seemed so full of life and still at the same time, I took notes.

We’ve been visiting the Muttart Conservatory for many years — sometimes just the two of us, other times with guests from out of town — and every visit continues to impress. It’s one of those rare places that immediately makes you feel relaxed and at peace the moment you walk in. The striking glass-pyramid architecture is beautiful from the outside, and once inside, you’re surrounded by lush greenery and carefully curated biomes. The Conservatory houses hundreds of plant species across four distinct pyramids — Tropical, Arid, Temperate, and a rotating Feature display that changes with the seasons. Each one offers its own unique atmosphere, scents, and colors that invite you to slow down and simply take it all in. Another thoughtful touch is the free parking right outside, which makes the visit even more enjoyable and stress-free. Inside, the attention to design and detail is remarkable — from the art-inspired entrance and courtyard to the ever-changing seasonal displays. Everything here reflects a deep care for both the plants and the visitor experience. The Muttart Conservatory has become one of our go-to places whenever we need a moment of calm or want to share something truly special with friends. It’s a perfect blend of nature, art, and tranquility — a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city.

Yelp
Visiting from California! I've only been to the San Francisco conservatory so it was very nice to check out a new one in a whole new area! I was so surprised by the different variety of plants like hibiscus I think was my favorite. I enjoyed the set up each pyramid has its own climate. The way they organized the flowers and plants was very thought out and unique. They have a wide variety of plants that are really hard to grow. I know there's a lot of love put into this place!

Yelp
It is one of the most visited places in Edmonton. Entrance fee is affordable (Adults 14.95 Canadian dollars). Ample parking and it is free. This is a good place to take your kids as they have children activities. There are 4 pyramids: Arid Temperate Tropical Feature You can cover the 4 pyramids in less than an hour. The 4th pyramid which is the Feature is the one that I liked the most. The Hydrangeas are in full bloom with vibrant colors and was arranged beautifully. You bet I took a lot of pictures!! We stopped by at the gift shop and Something caught my eye but I didn't purchase it because it is over priced (1 bar soap at Canadian 24 dollars). Cafe Bloom inside is open where you can enjoy a cup of Latte after visiting the pyramids Centre Court is a good place to rest and enjoy the plants that are displayed. It is in the center of the 4 pyramids. Restrooms are clean, stocked and enough cubicle to accommodate people. There is a place to hang coats too outside the restroom entrance. How cool is that??!! Yelp
I have not visited this place in over 25 years since a school feild trip and probably will be another 25 years before i got again. We attended the After Hours An Egyptian Night. I was was excited for an adults only experience. I'm not fond of being around running and screaming children nor do I appreciate parent with their giant strollers almost severing my Achilles tendons. $55/person sounded worth it until I got there ans noticed every Wednesday is Adult night and I could have saved $40/person. $55 got you enterance, a cocktails, some canapés and entertainment. The belly dancer they brought in was not what I am used to and I found the use of cane as a prop odd. We didn't watch her entire performance as it was underwhelming and decided to hit up the gardens. The gift shop was the highlight of the night. Is the Muttart worth $15 admission, yes. Was is worth $55 with the extra stuff, NO.

Yelp
I love this place - it's perfect to go for an afternoon with a gf or take friends from out of town. I've seen lots of people coming here solo also. Unless you go on a weekend it's not crowded (even then weekends can be a hit or miss). So much to see with so many cool plants from around the world. Each pyramid has a different climate and a different theme. The tropical one remains my favourite. All the waterfalls and fish I love it. They have a cute cafe at the main entrance with great menu/drink options. Food is made fresh and so good usually this place is quite busy. Highly recommend if you want a relaxing afternoon! Side Note: You can purchase flowers and herbs here for your garden that are grown in the greenhouse! Pre order is online starts usually in April - lots of cool different options!

Yelp
In a winter city like Edmonton, having a retreat from the chill weather that includes such a great variety of plants and flowers is absolutely excellent. Sure this isn't a HUGE botanical garden like the ones you might find entirely outdoors in warmer climates, but it has multiple pyramids of different ecosystems and lots to see (and great photography opportunities too! Over the years I've visited pretty sporadically with friends, family, and others and it is a great little conservatory. My kid loved wandering the pyramids (I haven't tried the children's programming here for the kid). I've always enjoyed seeing favourite plants and the humidity of the more humid pyramids is a sure draw when Alberta is super dry. Even the dry warmth of the Arid pyramid is great when it is chilly outdoors. They have good plants for sale and merchandise (and a cafe). I like the outdoor seating area and the park that it is located in includes some good space to wander. The pyramids themselves are pretty striking to look at. There is ample parking and transit does stop relatively nearby (and will be even closer when the LRT station opens!

Yelp
This is a beautiful place to go on a date. The four pyramids have different terrain types; so each pyramid has its own unique plants, and the fresh air produced feom the plants is invigorating! We went there in the evening, and they have black lights, and colored lights hidden amongst the plant life, which creates a very romantic atmosphere. They have a cafe / gift shop there as well. The service is friendly, and the building and washrooms are kept very clean. I would happily go again in the future.

Yelp
After seeing it from the bridge, and hearing some good reviews about this place our family and friends decided to stop by and take a look. When we arrive we were able to park in front and write down our license plate at the desk so we want to get tickets. And then we all purchase our tickets to enter the conservatory. The conservatory has four pyramids that have four different environments and plants to look at. The mainly based on different temperatures and there's lots of information on where to typically find these plans and labels of what they were. It was really pretty and informational to see all of the assortments. Additionally they provided lots of information on how and what they were too. The lobby itself has really good air-conditioning seating and bathrooms so it was a good time to walk around. We approximately spent about or less than an hour at this area taking pictures. They also have a café and gift shop in the front. Additionally we saw many people taking pictures outside or on top which doesn't cost any money or tickets, so that's another option as well. Overall was really pretty to see the conservatory on a good day.

Yelp
Ok so I know that the Muttart is closed to the public right now but you can still go enjoy a nice walk or take some sweet photos in the area. These glass pyramids are a total must see if you're looking for something to do in YEG that's outdoors and staycation friendly. The day I went, I took my kids to see the Edmowood sign. (A sign that has popped up in many beautiful outdoor spaces around the city. A new location each day.) You can walk right up to the top of the pyramids and look down into them to see the beautiful plants they have. One pyramid is a beautiful garden inspired set up. Another is all desert plants and cacti, and the last one is a flurry or tropical and forest plants. Really a great place to spend a bit of time walking or taking photos and letting the kids burn some energy.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to check out while in town, but be aware, they are under renovation for the upcoming months and are not open. We were lucky and got in on their last weekend before closing. The four pyramids all showed different climate zones and the plants that grow in them. We also saw two weddings happening, so this is a popular place. Very beautiful to take pictures and learn about all the different plants.

Yelp
Really neat spot. I went when I was in highschool as a field trip. We were leaving about different plant life cycle and other plant related education. This was such a neat spot to see what we were leaning take place. The different exhibits are super fun for both children and adults. I went back recently and it was just as good! The variety of plants is really neat and the changing exhibit makes going back worth it! If you are into social media and like taking pictures it's also a great place! It's also a super cute location to take family or wedding photos!

Yelp
I enjoy these gardens but on less busy days (family day long weekend had a lineup out the door while we were at the Culina for brunch). They've got one area specific for a neat roaring feature garden every few months (check the website to see what's new) and the others are climate specific. For the gardeners that live in Alberta, it reminds us that there is still life when things eventually thaw. This is why I usually visit. Plus it's nice to get the sunlight while not freezing in the winter. Each pyramid has a different garden. Sometimes there's even cool blooming dates that are worth going to check out and then some you might want to show up after the fact (corps flower was pungent even a week afterwards!). In all the years I've been going here, I've never actually taken the free tour (but will have to ask about it now that I read that tip!) but you can find your way through the place quite easily. Love the art work that is always hung on the wall separating the bathrooms and coat area. Most recently it was a series of pastels. They've also got a gift shop but it is small, so it can get crowded on even less busy days. Parking is a bit of a thing, especially if there's an event going on. At first glance the parking lot seems large but there's also people that use the park nearby. Sometimes one just needs to park on the street if it's a busy day. There's definitely a need for more handicap parking as those are always the first to go. The stalls marked are still a considerable distance from the main gates. So if someone has a lot of troubles waking, best to first drop them off up front and then go look for parking. The bathrooms are quite large and well maintained. The ramp from the entrance makes them easy to access. In case you need to take a rest between garden areas (as there's limited seating inside) the main gathering area has a bunch of seating too. In summer, the grounds around the muttart are well maintained and it's beautiful to walk outside. The outdoor courtyard is also lovely place to take pictures and the location usually attracts bridal party photos on the grounds (or inside during winter). I've only been to their spring plant sale once and was glad I went with a pro (and extra hands!). I've noticed lately there's a lot more events being hosted at the gardens. I'm yet to make any of these the special events but they're easy enough to find on Facebook events and would make a neat date night. Definitely take time to enjoy the Culina Cafe while you're there (they've got excellent brunch!) but do remember to make reservations. Otherwise that will be a long wait to be seated as it's just that popular for brunch from what I've seen over the years.

Yelp
This place is so beautiful. Specially since outside is negative 10 degrees. Inside these beautiful pyramids you will find a tropical garden full of trees and flowers from all over the world... it's a nice 80 degree so you can take your jacket off and warm up for a little bit.

Yelp
A structure that can't be missed due to its striking pyramids nestled at the river valley, Muttart is a botanical garden that's unique on its own kind. It's also regarded as a museum where fine arts are showcased all throughout the year. There's also music, dance, and handcrafting programs available. Culina Muttart, the on-site restaurant is a place to grab a bite or even commissioned to cater any events if you cho Although I must admit that I still have to see the inside of these pyramids, I didn't feel the need to be. I'm sure it's lovely inside but the beauty outside these pyramids are more than enough for me. I usually just climb the hill and settle by the roof. The view of the valley from here is truly mesmerizing. It's a lovely place to watch sunrise or sunset, and even witness the skyline of Edmonton especially nighttime.

Yelp
I used to love this place. It seems to have gotten smaller. Now I know that is all in my head because really, how could it have. But there seems to be much less variety of plants than what I remember from 15 years ago. I came during the winter LightWalk which was really cool and great for taking photos. However, one of the pyramids was closed so I felt a little ripped off. We didn't know that before we went, our fault for not checking. They do events here now like music nights and adult only nights. I took a terrarium-making class here once. Unfortunately, my air plants died. I guess I watered them too much. The Muttart is great to come to in the winter when you need a fix of green and plantness.

Yelp
In this festive season, instead of being mauled by Xmas shoppers, the family decided to visit Muttart Conservatory for a change of pace. Although I had reservations post Xmas craziness, it was a tranquil, zen like power-down that was relaxing and fun for the little ones. They had a special Santa's workshop filled with poinsettias all around. Although it was 16 bucks per adult, there was a Culina's bistro if you were into some light lunch and snacks. Although it was pricey for a brief visit, the visit was a calming way to recuperate during the chaos of the holidays.

Yelp
This was a breathtaking retreat into the wonders of flora and fauna. Refreshing, inspirational, and just so, so peaceful. I'll be back.

Yelp
Instantly recognizable by the unique 5 glass pyramids (hey, the Louvre in Paris only has 1), the Muttart is a neat place to spend an afternoon. Parking is available to the N of the building. The conservatory is divided into 4 zones: Arid, Temperate, Feature, and Tropical - one in each of the 4 larger pyramids. The middle one is really an area with a couple of tables. Arid - desert landscapes, with lots of cacti. Temperate - reminds me of Vancouver, BC. Same plants too! Feature - this changes every few months. Today it was a "Thanksgiving Harvest" theme, with lots of pumpkins and squash. Tropical - banana trees, pineapples, palms, and taros. One of the more useful features now is that they have QR codes attached to the wall in each section, which directs your smartphone to a walking tour page. The pages tell you how far to walk, which plants to look for, as well as fun facts about the fauna. The conservatory is actually quite small. Even while reading all of the signs, it took less than 1h for me to get through the whole place. If you haven't been here before, and want to learn a thing or two about plants, this is actually a pretty decent place to go.

Yelp
I have been to the Muttart a few times for various exhibits. From outside, the four pyramids look stunning set on the River Valley. It really is one of the most iconic points in the Edmonton skyline. Inside there is a lovely cafe and fantastic gift shop with lots of knick knacks including terrariums and jewelry. The main event is split into four pyramids. Each pyramid is set to a different climates to house the variety of plants and flowers. Three of the four are permanent fixtures and the fourth is where they have different themes or exhibits. I went to see the corpse flower there when it was flowering. Amazing to see but a bit smelly!

Yelp
I went to this facility for a private Christmas event. It's a good space for private functions, with beautiful holiday decor for the season. No eating or drinking is permitted in pyramid exhibition areas; but they also designated a smoking section near patio for winter season. There is free city of Edmonton wifi here. Facility is brightly lit, clean washrooms near coat rack off to the side of main foyer. It's also a Good place to buy healthy poinsettias and other plants. However since it was after hours, I wasn't able to explore the gift shop. Atmosphere of the pyramids are definitely different at night... for one thing, you can't see as much because although the pathways are lit, it's darker, so you miss out on the true beauty and color of the plants. The darkness also makes it more difficult to take portrait pics. But their colored flood lights add to the ambience & it's still a lovely stroll. Bring a sweater because it's also colder at night in 3 out of 4 pyramids as they are each temperature controlled to mimick the plants' natural environment. The seasonal pyramid was Christmas trained themed which makes for beautiful Christmas photos... more so in the daytime.

Yelp
Funny enough, I lived in Edmonton for 25 years and never made it to the Muttart Conservatory - it wasn't until I moved to Toronto, that I finally managed to get there. The pyramids are so visible and such a big part of Edmonton's character, I do wish I had gone earlier. The #1 thing I tried to find online before we went was how long it takes to go through. It was less than 90 minutes to close, and I didn't want to buy admission tickets and not get the whole experience. So for all the future people looking: To just briskly walk through all 4 pyramids will take you about 20 minutes. We took our very, very sweet time (and revisited one) and it took about 45. The bottom line is the pyramids themselves are much smaller than they look on the outside. I've seen other people comment that it was a little pricey for how long it takes you to go through, and I can see how if you expect to spend hours and hours there you might be disappointed. But to just enjoy the serenity of the space, maybe grab a snack, relax in the feature pyramid...it was absolutely worth it to me. I will say this, it was very quiet when we went (Friday afternoon just before close) and if it was busy and you were rushed and had fewer places to sit and relax...I think I would have enjoyed it significantly less. That being said, because we weren't rushed, it really was an enjoyable experience. Even if plants aren't a particular passion of yours, between the informative displays scattered throughout all of the pyramids and the very relaxing ambiance, you should be able to find something to enjoy. As I said above, we circled back to the Feature pyramid just because it was so peaceful and pleasant. Laid out like a beautifully cultivated garden with a tall waterfall, you can easily sit on the provided seating and just soak it all in for as long as you want. The one thing I find interesting is that the pyramids close at 5 every day, but you can tell they are set up with fancy lighting and would be gorgeous in the dark. I'm pretty sure they do evening events, but having even one night a week for general admission where people could enjoy a more dramatic ambiance would be fun.

Yelp
A perfect afternoon adventure through plants from across the globe. There's 3 plant pyramid rooms imitating different cimates; arid, temperate and tropical. You'll find all sorts of plants and trees with labels. You can find a plant binder to identify and read up on them as well. The 4th room is a feature room that changes every few months. The website will show the upcoming features. Admission is $12 range for adults with a big free parking lot.

Yelp
The Muttart Conservatory is the one spot my grandmother wanted to re-visit when she was out at Christmas, and I was glad that we could enjoy this experience with her. It was my first time here, as well as my mom's (who was also visiting for Christmas), but both my grandmother and SO had been here in the past. Walking into each of the pyramids was like walking into a whole new world. We started with the seasonal pyramid, which was done up for Christmas. There were so many poinsettias in so many different colours! It was absolutely beautiful - I just wanted to spend the whole time in this one pyramid! But since I hadn't been here, I figured I should probably discover the other pyramids, too. From Arid to Temperate to Tropical, there was something new and cool to see in each of the pyramids. I picked out a favourite cactus in the Arid pyramid, cooled down in the Temperate pyramid, and enjoyed some beautiful, colourful flowers in the Tropical pyramid. I can't wait to go back and see what the Muttart Conservatory offers in other seasons!

Yelp
We love visiting the Muttart and would always visit Culina's before leaving. We would also drop by Culina's when not visiting the muttart as the ambience and food was always good. Since reopening after the shutdown due to COVID Culina's has changed drastically . The old world ambience has disappeared and the food is now not even worth mentioning. This is so disappointing and I don't understand why a very successful eatery would stay in the same place and yet change so drastically. This is not only our observation but many friends have said the same thing.

Yelp
Other than the steep admission price ($12.50/adult) the Muttart (pronounced "mutt" - "art") Conservatory is a lovely place to spend an afternoon, and in my case, with my SO and newborn. There are four pyramids each featuring different climate-related plants! Along with the admission is a complimentary guided tour of each pyramid that takes place at set times throughout the day so plan accordingly. I found each pyramid full of interesting plant-life and the tours we did partake in were really educational and highly recommended! If you have young kids, you can book their parties here where you get a private party room, some fun activities and of course, a kid-friendly pyramid tour. All-in-all a nice way to spend an afternoon with family and out of town guests for that matter!

Yelp
4.5 stars if I could. We come here 5-6 times a year. Really unique to Edmonton. This mini botanical gardens have 4 different pyramids full of plants - Tropical, Arid, Temperate, and Feature Pyramid with a revolving theme. Nice café to grab a lunch or snack at. It is a little pricey for a one time visit to view plants - $12.50 an adult and probably really only takes an hour to do (or less if you have small children running around). However, if you get a city pass (which we have) you can go as many times you would like. What I also like is that for their music and date nights, there is no extra fee...just pay general admission...which is a great deal and a unique date night. The Feature pyramid is hit and miss...it seems like sometimes they put a lot of effort into their exhibit (ie the Day of the Dead Exhibit in October) to very little (the recent Christmas Exhibit). However, it is a great way to beat the winter blah's in Edmonton. And they are open late on Wednesday and Thursday nights (Wednesday is Adults only night I think) and it is interesting to walk around at night and then have a glass of wine in the café afterwards. Definitely worth checking out. Also, I have had both my children in their summer camps as well as each child has done a birthday party there. Really great on both merits. My youngest child has complex needs and requires an aide to attend with her, and they were super accommodating for both her birthday and the camp. My oldest loved the summer camp with an art focus...while my youngest has gone to the Muttart the last 3 years for various camps and has loved them all. Kuddos to the Muttart staff for making the children feel welcome and have accommodated their program so EVERYONE can love nature. Good job City of Edmonton.

Yelp
A trip to the Muttart can hinge very much on the people you come across while you're there, which I suppose is similar to most tourist-type attractions. The space itself is lovely, although small (each pyramid can be easily be experienced in 15 minutes or less) leading to some cramped spaces. The Arid and Feature pyramids are my personal favorites. However, those with mobility issues should be aware that the Arid pyramid has stairs that must be handled in order to experience the entire path. We went on a Friday afternoon, the final day of one of their summer day camps. The center hub of the facility was buzzing with children, excited to take their handplanted souvenirs home with them. With a few exceptions, (when the staff were busy socializing rather than supervising,) the daycamp kids were very well behaved. Honestly, it was the adults that made out trip difficult. Parents who used their 3-wide strollers to stop and block the already narrow pathways, people having very loud phone conversations in every pyramid, people not stopping their children from digging in the dirt or throwing around the gravel in the Arid pyramid (there are warning signs posted that the gravel contains fallen prickles from the cacti)... And instagrammers. Believe me, I love me the 'gram. I wouldn't be on Yelp if I didn't, (and I appreciate that it is likely IGers keeping the Muttart open,) but there were people completely disrespecting the plants, exhibits, and other patrons in order to get the "perfect pic." Climbing on rocks and into the trees not only sets a terrible example for children and could be dangerous, it puts the plants at risk. It's a shame that we only saw staffers in the Feature Pyramid, because some of the others could have used better supervision. I know I wasn't the only patron frustrated by others on my trip -- a few people who seemed to have settled in to read their books or sketch sought refuge in the center hub, waiting for the most disruptive of the visitors to leave their favorite pyramid. If you're able to look past the disruptions of others, this can be a very relaxing place. I'm hoping to go back on a quieter day and really enjoy it.

Yelp
During the freezing cold winter months in Edmonton, this is one of the place you might want to check it out. It has gardens sectioned according to its kind of climate it would have been in i.e tropical, desert.. It looks big on the outside but it's an average sized conservatory rather. I have been to conservatories that literally make you feel as though you're in a huge garden with lots of luscious greens almost giving you a brush as you pass. A pretty average conservatory. Nothing overly special about it but nothing bad about it either. Great for families with little children.

Yelp
The Muttart has become one of my favourite Edmonton attractions. It is beautiful to visit in all seasons. Since the pavilions are indoors, it is the perfect place to visit when the weather is not so great. The pavilions are climate controlled and make it feel like spring and summer, event when it is snowing outside. The exterior landscape becomes a great place for a walk outside when Mother Nature decides to be gentler with us. The feature pavilion is always worth seeing. A lot of work and care goes into setting up the exhibit, and it really shows. The other three pavilions stay more or less the same, but depending on the time of year different plants may be blooming. Culina now runs the restaurant, so you can have a great snack or meal before or after your adventure. Don't forget to bring a camera. If you visit often, you may want to contemplate getting a pass - it will pay for itself.

Yelp
The Muttart is filled with beautiful flowers and is a warm tabs colorful treat to the senses in the middle of an Edmonton Winter! So why do I give them 3 stars you say? I've only visited the Muttart on special activity days and without the live music, art, and projects for the kiddos, I don't think it would be nearly as fun and I'd find the admission fee too rich for my blood I will definitely continue to appreciate the Muttart extra lots on free admission days.

Yelp
The Muttart Conservatory is a pretty unique experience. It's really cool to go in the winter because it's like you are entering another world when you walk into the different pyramids. The climate is different in each pyramid and the the exotic plant life in each is exquisite and breathtaking. Each one is a different experience and it's really neat. I've seen quite a few wedding parties come here to get their pictures done and I can imagine that they turned out pretty nice. They have a little cafeteria where you can grab a snack or a drink after (or in between) the pyramids. If you haven't been yet, check it out. It's pretty neat.

Yelp
It's not the Louvre Museum, it just looks like one The place is great for taking pictures if you are in a flowery, chillax mood. Very vibrant and colorful. You will be able to see five unique glass pyramids. Arid, Temperate, Feature and Tropical that feature different flowers and plants around the world. It'll just take an hour and a half or so to appreciate the view and take pictures. A must visit if you are visiting or living in Edmonton.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. Me and my 1 year old have a seasons pass here and we go every two months to see the new feature pyramid. It's nice to go in the winter to the Tropical pyramid. Every Friday at 10 to 1030 they have a little toddler program with crafts and stories. They have a interpretive program every Tuesday and Friday. Check your website out for when they have a guided tours A wonderful and unique place to go by yourself or with your family.

Yelp
Our car club booked the Muttart Conservatory for a March Saturday evening, catered by the Sawmill. To escape the cold winter weather, this venue is ideal! It was great having the venue to ourselves, wandering through the quiet Pavilions at our leisure, enjoying the different climates and plants in contrast to the wintery view outside of the pyramids. I can see this as a wonderful place to host a variety of events including weddings and should be on any groups list of venues to consider for private functions.

Yelp
I really love visiting this place. It's relaxing and beautiful. I wish that there were more places to sit in the gardens that were more secluded, but maybe this will happen with the new renovations. I had a bad experience with one of the staff, because my friend I and wanted one change of clothes in the washroom so we could take some nice pictures in the gardens and she made a remark about it not being a photo shoot. I also wish you could spend more than 30 mins here, it's relatively small. I'm so excited for the new opening, this is truly a unique place and a fun experience.

Yelp
Such a cool place to escape to, especially in the cold months. Beautiful displays! The concerts that the muttart hosts are really nice, and included in the admission. On a less positive note, three of us went to make a fairy garden at one of their classes they hold, and while the class was fun, all three of us had plants die quite quickly. We all garden, so we are not complete novices. That was disappointing, specially when you factor in the cost of the class.

Yelp
It's been a couple of years since I last reviewed the Muttart and I thought I would do a little update since I happened to be there again today to see the holiday themed feature pyramid before they change it over on the 8th. I don't know if it's the fact this winter is a little colder then our last but I definitely had a new found level of appreciation for the pyramids today. I think it does wonderful things for one's mental health to be able to escape the cold grey city for a bit to walk amongst all the beautiful flowers with their bright colors and enticing smells. The atmosphere at the Muttart is generally pretty quiet and relaxed as well. I noticed a lady sitting down in one of the pyramids drinking a coffee from Culina Muttart and reading a book. I tried to take a little bit of extra time today to make sure I was reading all the plaques as well as trying to connect the right plaque with the right plant but even then my experience lasted about an hour which was something I touched on in my last review. It cost me $12.50 to get into the Muttart today which is dangerously close to what it costs for admission to a movie which will keep you occupied for twice as long. It was also a little tough walking around the pyramids while dodging all the little ones who were there with their parents while on their winter break. This is one area that I think the Muttart really loses people. They do some great programming for special days like earth day and there are certain times of the day where you can get a guided tour but if your visiting outside of those hours or not during special events there isn't much here to engage young kids. They do have sheets for scavenger hunts just by the entrance/exit door of the pyramids but I notice alot of people don't see them there and if your kids are not at the age where they have strong reading skills then again that's not likely to be something they will want to engage with. Two years later and while I enjoy the Muttart I still just can't bring myself to give them anymore then 3 stars. There just isn't enough to see and do to warrant paying the admission price more than once a year which is generally how often I visit.

Yelp
Went here yesterday after not having been for a few years. It was free admission day so there were quite large crowds. Staff was very friendly, and the pyramids were beautiful as always. I am going to have to try out the Cafe that's located inside as I noticed that they've won best brunch 3 years in a row ! It was a fun day all around, I'll be going back sooner than later.

Yelp
I come here fairly often with the kids if we have an hour or so to spare or if there's an event going on. The kids love going through the different environments even though they've been here many times and the feature pyramid is always interesting. It's one of the best places to visit in the middle of the winter too as the smells of spring and summer and warm humid air do wonders for your psyche.

Yelp
Checked out the Day of the Dead display at the Muttart (tomorrow is the last day)! I have been to the Muttart multiple times. This post would be 3.5 stars if I could give half stars! The flowers and the displays are absolutely beautiful (as you can see from the photos). There are four different exhibits you can look through, each one having different types of vegetation. There are paths that wind throughout and signs to let you know what all the different plants are. They also have guided tours through each of the pyramids (I have not been on one). The reason why I give this 3.5 stars is the price. We had a buy one, get one 1/2 off coupon and it cost just over $17. Unless you read every sign and sit, it does not take that long to look through everything. That's quite the high price. I am sure it's expensive to keep everything going but I do not feel the price fits the activity. They have a nice café but you are not allowed to take any drinks inside which might have slowed us down (I am sure they don't want littering). In the end, it's a nice time but just be prepared for the price!

Yelp
I love the Muttart. If you're new to Edmonton and have wondered what those glass pyramids are shining in the river valley, go check it out. Or if you've lived in Edmonton all your life but never made it there, you don't know what you're missing. It's a beautiful oasis in the middle of our city. These giant greenhouses are a beautiful stroll on a winter's day, through temperate, arid and tropical climates. There are all sorts of beautiful plants and eco-systems maintained by city staff and passionate botanists. I love to head over here in February or March when winter is really getting to me. Unfortunately, the Muttart is closed for renovations until the beginning of '09, so check out the website before you go. This is a great place to take kids and out-of-towners. A holiday away from home, right in the centre of your city.

Yelp
This is a really beautiful and peaceful place to visit and walk around. They only had 3 of the pyramids open when we went but they gave a 25% discount because of it. Very reasonable pricing regardless.

Yelp
One of Edmonton's most defining structures is the collective of the Muttart Conservatory, those five glass pyramids that highlight the city's pristine river valley. They've become a part of our local culture, an identifier for Canadians who aren't from here. And that's why I'm all the more embarrassed that it took me this long to actually see inside this local landmark, situated along the North Saskatchewan since 1976. But let's just keep that between us, shall we! The Muttart is a botanical garden operated by the City of Edmonton, and includes three greenhouses, public gardens, and those four famous pyramids, three of which are permanent biomes (tropical, temperate, and arid regions), while the other is a rotating display of plant species. Designed by the late architect Peter Hemingway, the Muttart is home to both common and exotic plant life from around the world, including hibiscus, pampas grass, cactus, palms, eucalyptus, white water lilies, agave, and the elephant foot tree. This season's feature pyramid houses 'Journey to Middle Earth,' which gives us a glimpse of what it would be like to live as a Hobbit! Expect to see part of the Shire, Smaug the Dragon and more! It's easy to make an afternoon out of the Muttart, which also includes a gift shop, inside lobby, outside patio, and the acclaimed Culina Muttart Cafe, offering fresh comfort food featuring some ingredients grown in-house, as well as a selection of wine and craft beers! You can also take in educational programs and camps, or one of their unique events, or book the venue for a private function. Parking is free.

Yelp
I always visit when they have live jazz music, which happened in Aug 2012, and before that on Father's Day (June) 2010. Certainly not worth the price of admission for a second visit without the jazz and extra activities like taking home a potted plant. They do have well-priced annual passes though, but I don't see myself visiting that often. I would like to live in a home like it though.

Yelp
Had a really enjoyable time here exploring the exhibits with with the girlfriend. Love the setup and the public art displays (including a Janvier mural). The intense array of flora is impressive as any I've seen and the setting of the glass pyramids really round out the experience. The gift shop is also excellent. Definitely a must to visit for anyone local or visiting.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go with the family on the weekend, or to practice your macro photography. It is also a great place to take out-of-town visitors to show the something unique about Edmonton. It is especially neat to visit in the winter and experience different summer climates in each of the pyramids.

Yelp
Many people see the glass pyramids and have no idea what they are. I suggest that you check them out at least once and take in the experience. If you go in winter it feels pretty surreal walking around in these tropical forests. Each pyramid provides a different experience than the one before it and even though plants sound boring to me I actually enjoyed taking it all in. I learned that people can come here for wedding pictures and that seems like a cool idea. The plants will provide some great scenery.

Yelp
This is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon... Especially if the weather is crappy (which is an often occurrence in Edmonton!). The Muttart is filled with tropical gardens which smell, feel and sound like the real thing. It isn't cheesy or anything though. It is actually quite captivating. My dad and step mom got married here and it was a really cool experience. The place was beautiful, and I can imagine that the price wasn't too bad either (my parents are on the frugal side...). Do you want to get married in Hawaii but don't think you can afford it? Call up the Muttart. The prices for admission are pretty decent too: $5.25 for a child admission, $10.50 for an adult, $8.00 for a youth or senior. There are also annual passes you ca get if you happen to fall in love with this scenic conservatory.

Yelp
Very well kept and beautiful. However, admission was quite pricey for a place that takes about an hour to experience. I think we had great expectations when viewing the Muttart from the outside, but once in, were a tad underwhelmed. That being said, were definitely not proficient in botany and I'm sure couldn't fully appreciate some of the rarer plants and flowers. For someone better educated than us this place is probably a dream. However, for the average 'tourist' it falls a little short. Ps; when we went in the evening the cafe and gift shop were closed
