The dining setting is quite lovely and well set up. Tables are small, but not super close to each other that you’re brushing up with the table beside you. Staff were really kind and attentive. Their food came out quickly, and it was delicious! Very good flavours and fresh ingredients. We tried their special caramelised pork and it did not disappoint. Price points are a bit higher than most, and the serving sizes weren’t that big for the mains, hence the 4 star rating.

Excellent food. The pork belly was very tender with crispy skin. I would have liked more mushrooms in the veggie dish though, I think there was only one. The sticky stack was the perfect finish. Sweet peanutty ice cream and chewable stick black rice topped with candied coconut slivers.

Great food, great service. I have been here a few times for lunch but first time for dinner last night for a birthday and tried the banquet menu for the first time. The pork belly was very flavorful, and crispy not the hard ones you get at some other places. The tofu with vegetables was simple but beautifully made. Coconut ice cream to finish.

Mar17-lunch special chicken curry with Jasmin rice was alright.Aug16-Northern crispy egg noodles and slow cooked beef curry was pretty good. The service was prompt too. The portions were rather large for me, but not too large.

Love this place tucked away in Surry Hills. The dishes are delightfully flavoured and capture mouth watering taste experiences. The service is always with a smile and nothing is too much. Didn't get shots of food this time but I still recommend a trip to this place if you are stuck for somewhere in Surry Hills. It's sister restaurant in Barangaroo is good but t bj is one offers a much better more intimate experience.

Google
A modern take on Thai food. Amazing quality meals that are reasonably priced. It can get really busy so booking ahead is recommended. That said our meals were still served quickly. Would highly recommend!

Good place for groups to have decent Thai food. Reasonable price for the location.

Fantastic food, great service, and nice space with good vibe. Authentic Thai flavours with contemporary interpretations on some classic dishes. Service was quick and friendly! Prices are reasonable for the quality. Recommended.

Yelp
Muum maam must doing something right if they are getting customers in this little hidden side street There customer service is right up there, easy to get there attention, filling up our water glasses but the waitress did take away our satay chicken stick plate before my missus finished using the dipping sauces,a little too efficient! The satay chicken sticks were different, but in a good way. The satay sauce wasn't chunky but smooth. The chicken itself only had a little flavour in it. I wouldn't get it again The green vegetable curry was nice, the missus felt it was good. I liked it too but I feel you can get the same at any good thai place The veal massamam curry was better than expected. Thumbs up for using veal instead of another meat,it suited the curry well. Complimentary prawn crackers The prices though do not match the portion sizes. The missus said it right,we felt that the rice could of been a bigger portion, rice isn't that expensive What attracted me to this place was it's different menu. I'm glad I came! Nil issues using entertainment book voucher

Yelp
A small buzzing restaurant on an otherwise deserted Surry Hills Street - must be good! And my initial thoughts proved correct. We ordered the pineapple fried rice and Massaman curry which comes with roti on the side. Roti was flakey, crisp, absolutely delicious. The best part was that I didn't know the curry would come with this dish. The Monkey business mocktail was great. Coconut sorbet slowly melting in the glass, mixed with pandan. Service was attentive. I can understand why this restaurant is so popular!

Yelp
This is a really lovely Thai place. I know there's heaps of options in Sydney but this one has a great mix of traditional and modern dishes. It's mid to more expensive on the spending range. Attentive service and the ambience make it a nice date night place!

Yelp
3.5* Great service and wicked vibe in this Thai restaurant. Staff are great- super friendly. The calamari fried is so delicious, it's soft and crispy on the outside with little pops of chili and spring onion. The sauce is delicious. We ordered the osso bucco massaman curry, this came with roti (yum!) however was way too fatty for me to eat. I know this cut of meat is known for being laced in fat and that's what makes it so tender. But there was just way too much of it in the curry. We also had the pad Thai, again it was tasty but there was some pretty strong 'shrimp paste' like flavors (not entirely sure what they were). I think we probably didn't order best here as I was a little disappointed with the food flavors. But again that's a personal opinion. Definitely worth trying!

Yelp
Muum Maam means little glutton in Thai, and that's what you'll feel like. It really has spectacular food, whether for a quick lunch (as evidenced by the lines!) or for dinner. The space can get a bit loud, so I'd try to get something near the window or in a corner. Muum Maam makes consistently delicious and interesting Thai food, on the elegant end of the spectrum. I think it's as good as the more famous Thai eateries: Chat Thai, Home and Spice I Am... but you don't have to fight for a table. And in fact, it's definitely more elegant than any of them (except I haven't tried the new upscale Spice I Am in Potts Point). I can never go by the betel leaf wrap. I loved the red curry whole-fried barramundi. I've often had the pork belly curries or stir-fry, and their noodles (at lunch, usually) are great. Last time we went, the service, normally excellent and charming, was even more so... personality plus. And the wine (no BYO) was very good. It really is good this place. Give it a try.

Yelp
Do NOT eat here. NO. JUST NO. Well you can eat here if you want to throw away your money and your taste buds took the night off. Otherwise, go to Holy Basil, also a hipster location but WAY better food. It's walking distance. Other south asian food in Chinatown are way better as well but just less... ambiance... which is the only thing that isn't 1 star here. More like... 3*? This place is the definition of crappy overpriced food. Pineapple fried rice was just greased salty rice with a few overcooked shrimp and tiny pieces of pineapple. Probably the WORST pineapple fried rice, i'd ever ate in 5 different countries and the most expensive one as well. Absolutely terrible. We had Massaman which was stupidly salty with very small amount of meat and just... wtf. Then we tried Monkey Balls which was... dried coconut that tasted like saw dust and it's hard... SO BAD... I mean we should've known anyone who'd named their desert after Monkey's Balls would not know the definition of delicate. Oh well.

Yelp
Absolutely Thai-spoiled! We came here for a work team dinner. Absolutely everything we ordered was delightful! The best dish for me of the night was the Crying Tiger (lightly seared wag you beef) served under medium rare here which is perfect for me, but for those who would like their meat well done, you should stay away or let the chef know. The nights special of lamb curry was DELICIOUS! As was their Pad Thai (I don't usually highly rate pad Thai but this was was delightful!) This restaurant definitely sets a high bar for other Thai places I will venture to in Sydney. I would like to rank this place "Upscale Thai" as it's definitely not your quick pop-in pop-out Thai takeaway or fast food. Verdict: High bar set. May be tough to beat!

Yelp
We came here after visiting a wine bar earlier, for a main meal of the night. Took us a while to realise it's a Thai restaurant (Larb salad gave it away). Service is perfunctory, the waitress looked bored and stood around, but the male waiter was great and friendly. In Sydney we are a bit spoilt for Thai restaurants, to the point where they've become ubiquitous for take away, so my expectations tend to be quite high. Unfortunately sometimes I get strike outs and I didn't enjoy this one as much as others. While food was OK, they were small servings, steamed rice was separate (it's not expensive guys - give it away), and dessert was a bit lacking in flavour - we tried them all. Cocktails tasted of vanilla when they should have tasted of caramel. The larb salad was delicious, but fried rice bland, massaman was again, quite small and the salt and pepper cuttlefish was not really salt and pepper, just battered. Try some chili if you can't afford pepper guys. It could be that the dishes we chose were duds, but I won't be heading back to find out.

Yelp
YUM!! Ordered the pork chilli Basil lunch special, and the Pirk was so juicy and tender. Service was awesome, great atmosphere .. and they seem to have a $5 Singha beer lunch special.... maybe not today for me though... ;-) maybe...

Yelp
Visiting Sydney from NY and as a celiac always on the hunt for amazing Gluten Free food. Muum Maam was on one of the Top GF places in Sydney so I had to Try.. I would say it did not disappoint. Delicious authentic Thai food, good customer service and plenty of options to choose from. I started with the delicious Papaya Salad (one of my absolute favorites) so I always order a rate a place based on their authenticity of flavored by their salad, then had the Chicken Special which was SOOOO delicious then last but NOT least was prob one of the most incredible desserts I have ever had the Monkey Balls! WOW. It's a MUST try!

Yelp
I bet this place gets overlooked a lot being right next to Movida, which is really unfair considering how great the food is- Very attentive wait staff and casual vibe, also very reasonably priced. We went with the rice paper rolls to start which were average at best (good, but just not $12 good if you know what I mean) but the mains were amazing- I'm a sucker for anything with pork belly and their dish with oyster sauce and chinese broccoli did not disappoint. We also got the shredded banana blossom salad- perfect amount of peanut-y flavor without being overwhelming and a really light tasting dish.

Yelp
Quite delicious. A very corporate crowd there, which always loses points for me (soz everyone) but I guess it's hard to avoid that this side of Surry Hills. It's well priced, but the meals are bigger and arguably more delicious down the road at Yok Yor.

Yelp
I'd strolled past Muum Maam at lunchtime and noticed this newish thai restaurant was always heaving with people and having read a couple of rave reviews I was excited to check it out for myself. What a treat! Everything we had here was delicious! The Crying Tiger Beef is to die for and at $27 it had to be good. The Green Curry was superb, the Salt, Pepper & Chilli Calamari was lovely and the Morning Glory was delish. In a city brimming with no-reservation restaurants it's lovely to come across one that lets you book a table - tick. The staff are open to dietary needs including gluten free options. The only thing letting this place down is the prices, which are on the high side for Thai. I'd come back in a heartbeat for the Crying Tiger Beef - mmm.

Yelp
When you walk in the first thing you notice is the warm, earthy colours and rustic decor. The staff are also extremely amicable and the food is by far the best Thai I have had to date. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to any of my friends.

Yelp
I work in the area so end up here at least once per fortnight for lunch. The prices may be a little higher than other Thai joints in the area but for good reason! The serves are generous and service is quick. My favorite dish is probably the crispy pork, Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce - the ingedients are always super fresh and, with a serving this size, I don't have to worry about dinner.

Yelp
top quality food. this seems to be a big media hang i.e. people from all surrounding surry hills hangs like Digital agencies, News Ltd etc. they have good lunch specials, and if you sign up and like them on facebook they will give you a free drink! Singah beer is usually 5 bucks at lunch time which is a good deal. i had the pork fried rice and it was mouth watering. will be back to this place, as the service and vibe is very fun! great food to match it! sometimes the food is a little slow to serve however.

Yelp
We discovered this fabulous place quite by accident, while looking for a restaurant to have our dinner, while waiting for a place at the nearby wine bar. And we were not disappointed! Sydney has some excellent Thai food options to choose from, so when it comes to upmarket Thai restaurants like this one, they really need to bring their game on! The vibe here is super casual with long canteen style tables, but they create sufficient space between different groups, so that you dont feel like you are eating from a strangers plate. We were a group of five with no reservations and the hostess was kind enough to accomodate us, even though the restaurant was pretty full. We ordered a mix of dishes which were all really flavourful and delicious. We had their crispy pork belly tossed with greens and seared wagyu beef which was melt in the mouth delicious. For me the highlight was definitely the whole pan fired barramundi with spices which had a crispy skin and beautiful flavour. The fried rice and green curry were good as well but not spectacular. Though I did feel that they could have been a little more generous with their portions, and probably offer rice with their curries at least instead of having to order it. But that aside, it's definitely good food that's been made with care.
