MUWA NISEKO

Our stay at Muwa from Jan 5-9 was truly exceptional. From the hospitality to the buffet breakfast to the ski-in/ski-out access, Muwa delivered on every front. Every member of the team we interacted with was extremely friendly, personable, and accommodating — and all were English-speaking, which made us feel right at home.||Dylan was a joy to see every day, always ready to help with shuttle scheduling, restaurant recommendations, and other logistics. David and Jake, who often drove the shuttles, were very friendly and attentive. Alvin and Andreas from the concierge/ guest services team were also fantastic, ensuring that every part of our stay went smoothly.||The shuttle service was particularly valuable, given the low temperatures and frequent heavy snow. It made traveling to our ski rental shop and dinner reservations in town safe, comfortable, and stress-free.||We really enjoyed the buffet-style breakfast, which had a wide variety of options, along with made-to-order omelets and fried eggs. The ski access level and complimentary ski locker made getting in and out of the hotel extremely easy, and the ski rental on this floor is very convenient — we would definitely consider using it in the future.||Of all the hotels on the mountain, we believe Muwa has one of the best locations, being very accessible to the Hirafu gondola at the center of the mountain.||The hotel’s onsen facilities were another highlight. There’s a public onsen free for hotel guests, separated for women and men, with showers and a sauna — perfect for relaxing after a long day on the slopes. We also booked the private infinity onsen, a paid experience on the 7th floor featuring an open-air onsen, private room with showers, and complimentary tea. This was incredibly picturesque and romantic.||Our room was comfortable, with ample space for multiple pieces of luggage, a mini kitchen setup, and a washer/dryer — a thoughtful touch that made our stay even easier. It also had a mud room area in the entry way, which made it easy to store our wet snow boots and ski gear before entering the room. At the end of our visit, the staff offered to return our ski rentals to Rhythm for us, which was a huge help.||Overall, Muwa exceeded our expectations in every way. We would absolutely stay here again and cannot recommend it highly enough!

If you want spectacular service in a sleek and modern hotel located on a great ski mountain with the world’s best and most reliable powder snow, then Muwa is the place to stay. It has convenient ski in and ski out options making it easy to come off the slopes and have a delicious and healthy lunch in their simple but elegant dining room. Their breakfasts are also delicious with lots of healthy choices to get you going in the morning. The rooms are spacious and unfettered. But what stands out the most is the staff who are so friendly and will cater to your every need almost instantaneously. I was blesses to have Renz, the facilities manager, personally oversee and orchestrate my stay from start to finish even when he was off duty officially. I liked my stay so much that I plan to try my best to bring my grown kids along with me hopefully next year🙏😊

Warm hospitality, from the moment entering the lobby to getting into our room, everything was very well sorted out and we were well taken care after by their service staff 😊 my families are looking forward to coming back again next year! Special shoutout to Dylan, Roz, Jaz and Liz (sorry if I misspelled your names), thank you for making our trips so wonderful.

Stayed here during the winter ski season. The ski in ski out area is pretty small and tight. I think they only have 1 ski valet and he’s very busy all the time - hardly see him at the counter when we needed to ask him questions. The good thing is the convenience to pick up and return your ski rentals as they have a Niseko Sports store located right in the hotel. Rooms are clean and nice - no complains on that. The amenities are from Aesop they were great. One thing that could be better was the breakfast spread, which was rather disappointing. There was only one live cooking station which is the egg station. The rest are pre made food. The staff are very friendly! They hire quite a lot of Southeast Asians for full timers. Quite a few Koreans as well as part timers during the peak season.

Do not hesitate to stay at Muwa. From the moment of arrival you are greeted by friendly staff and absolutely beautiful design. Our room had a private onsen, kitchen, living room, Murphy bed for additional guests if needed, vistas to Mt Yotei. This will be amongst the most memorable hotel experience of my life. Also, one thing I did not see talked about was the shuttle. There is a shuttle that takes you to the small downtown area and picks you up at the local police station. The town is very small, so the shuttle pickup area is easily accessible. The access to the snow is easy. Again, do not hesitate, this will be the stay of a lifetime.

This place isn't the best, it's the bestest. The staff was awesome. They went above and beyond to make sure my family was well taken care of. The staff was always there to help us take the skiing gear to the locker and even arranged it all neatly and tidily. They got this shuttle that takes us anywhere in town. Even to the train station in the next town. The security team helped up look for a misplaced bag. It helped us figure out when we lost it and eventually ending up retrieving it with everything intact. I rate this fine establishment: this is my inspiration to get more money so I can come back, out of 10.

Mixed feelings about this property, after having stayed next door at Ki for many years. Our family has grown and the rooms at Ki have become a bit small for us, so Muwa was a good choice in that respect. We got a very large 2.5 bedroom suite with onsen. The rooms are very new and in great shape. Having the onsen on our deck was key. But besides onsen, there are very few amenities in this hotel, which is a bit disappointing at this price point. No gym, no bar/lounge area, and nowhere really to hang out and just have a cup of coffee or wine after a day of skiing. They have two restaurants, an upscale shabu shabu (super good) that is set menu only, and a restaurant where they also serve breakfast, but the restaurant closes fairly early and is doesn't have any kind of casual hang out area. The hotel has a tiny fridge area where you can buy beer and cakes (the cakes were delicious). If they could just expand/enhance that area a bit to add more items to the fridge (wine, sake, cheese, canned cocktails), that would actually help out a lot. Great ski-in, ski out location, and the onsite ski shop is a HUGE bonus. Service at the hotel was spotty. The people at the desk always looked too busy to want to help you. Not your traditional attentive Japanese service where all eyes are on you as you come in. But it wasn't a big deal. Would absolutely return if they got a gym and added some common space like a small bar for socializing.

Without a doubt the best hotel in Niseko. If you want beautiful suites (with great toiletries! Don’t pack your own shower gel and shampoo etc as they supply the best!) the super clean modern yet authentic onsen I loved both the all female public one for hotel guests and the private infinity one my husband and I booked which overlooked the mountain and was outside that was such an experience a real memory, fabulous restaurants in the hotel which were very accommodating to my food allergy and offered both Japanese food and Italian/western style cuisine which is nice option when you’re there a couple of weeks which we were! My husband and I will never stay anywhere else in Niseko, Muwa is it. We split our time between a ski in ski out suite and then a larger suite with views of the mountain, both magnificent! You really can’t go wrong as all the suites and rooms are lovely we did take a look at many so we know for next trip what suite we’d love to book. The staff are all incredible and accommodating to every need constantly checking how we were doing and if anything else could make our stay even better. A wonderful holiday and we will be back each year. The staff greet you every time you pass them and their manners are that of a Japanese person even though some staff members come from all over the world they keep the beautiful polite culture alive we all love so much. It’s better than 5 star! Muwa is ahead of their game and second to none! One staff member that made our trip very special was Joe, thank you very much Joe. See you all next year! Heidi and Andrew. B
